I have a Western Digital Mybooklive 3Tb hard drive connected to my N750 wireless router. It works fine, except that the new Media Server and the USB print and storage center says there are no USB devices plugged into it! Why is this?

I am trying to set up the network configuration on the NAS drive so I can have internet access to the drive. My question is do I manually define the IP address, subnet mask, DNS, and gateway or do I select DHCP. If so what addresses should I use the address of the NAS drive form the router or the router address. I think I need to use the manual fields and use a static IP but do I get that IP address from the router or from my ISP (comcast)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a F5D8235-4 N+ router and I am trying to connect my Seagate Free Agent hard drive to the USB port on the router so that I can access it on all my network computers. When I first hooked it up, it worked. Now, the drive is lit up like it is working, and when I enter \192.168.2.1 I can see it, however my Windows 7 computer is unable to access it (even though this is the same computer that accessed it when I first hooked it up). The computer I am using is running Windows 7 and is connecting to the network wireless.

It is a Seagate drive that is listed on the Cisco tested - passed - approved list. It worked prior to this update. I have disconnected the drive. Reconnected it. Rebooted. I recently purchased the Belkin PLAY N600 router to create a private network for my home theatre setup.I have a primary home network 192.168.0.x (NetGear) which I use for all my computing needs. I extended a network cable to my Home theatre area and plugged in the N600 router. After this, I attached a USB external hard drive to the router and it works great. I can see it from the 192.168.2.x home theatre network (Belkin).I would like to expose the USB hard drive hooked to the Belkin Router to my primary network so that I can copy over my music and pictures without having to physically move the hard driveonto a PC connected to the primary domain.The Belkin router has a DMZ function which exposes an IP on its internal (192.168.2.x)network to the external (192.168.0.103) network.Is it feasible to expose the USB drive to my primary home network?

I have both the printer driver and Belkin USB Print and Storage Manager software installed on a desktop PC that connects wirelessly to the router. The Belkin print manager software "sees" the printer, but when I try to connect it says please install printer drivers. I've installed and re-installed these drivers a few times, with no effects.

I've tried direct to modem and have no problem, have tried old router, no problem, but if I shut down desktop completely (Win7) and restart, I get no connection. Uninstalling the NIC (Intel 82579V Giga) and restarting, then I get connection again. However, if I start in safe mode with networking, I have no problems at all.
