Have WBR-2310 D-Link router. Internet modem and wireless router were working. While trying to connect new wireless printer, lost internet connect. Had to re-enter internet provider user id and password. Was told I needed to make sure that information was in my D-link router, so I typed 192.168.0.1 as internet address. I don't get a webpage to enter the userid and password.

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust set-up a new X2000, loaded latest firmware 2.0.01, configured it via the web UI ('Browser based utility' as per the manual). Connected OK to my ADSL broadband by O2. Configured wireless, everything OK. Funny it doesn't need a user name, only a password, my prevoius WAG160N could be configured for both.Now I want to configure the Parental Controls, BUT apart from my computer name and an Android phone name, all I see in the Target Device ADD button pop-up are a list of repeated 'Network Device'. There seems no way to be able to distinguish which is which device (mix of XP & Win 7 PC's and HP Printer through a separate switch), as it does not show IP address or MAC.
I thought I may have better luck with the Cisco Connect software (which I didn't use to set-up the router). I downloaded the latest version 1.4.11194.0, and ran this on another computer with wireless. Apart from reconfiguring my static IP address to DHCP, and then connecting through DHCP, the software said it could not configure my router. So it never gets to a point where it installs any program on the computer so that I can configure Parental Controls. How do I get the router to show ALL the computer names in the list rather than 'Network Device' or is there a way to distinguish which 'Network Device' is which computer?

Three computers, all running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, are members of a Homegroup that functioned perfectly for more than a year until Tuesday of this week. On Tuesday, I installed Windows updates and also updated from Norton 360 v5 to v6.Computer A and B don't have password protected logins to Windows; Computer C is password protected. Until Tuesday, A and B have never been required to enter a password to access shared files and folders on C. Computer A still communicates fine in both directions with B and C, without having to enter C's Windows login credentials. B can be accessed by C, but when B attempts to access the C libraries that are shared by C to the Homegroup, the appropriate shared folders are shown (Documents, Pictures, etc.), but instead of their usual icons, the icons look like this: url... and if I try to click on them, I am prompted for a Network Password like this: url... The name following "Enter your network password to connect to:" is the name of C, and the "Domain" shown below the password block is the name of B. (Domains aren't even possible with Home Premium, are they?)

They have wireless printers, iMacs, pc laptops and iPhone 4S's, all connecting without any problems. Recently, they got an iPhone5 and it will not connect to their home wireless automatically, they have to re-enter the password each time. They've tested their iPhone 5 on other networks and they do not have to re-enter the password. Apple and ATT are blaming the router. I do not live near them and I'm going to have to facilitate them remotely. At this point, I believe their router is configured with WPA2, but I can't be sure. Which configuration will work with the iPhone 5, as well as their other, older, devices that have worked for 4 years

Should I take this to mean after the first time it won't prompt them again for a password? I was wondering If my roommate wants to use my internet account if she can use the guest account every time without a password or not. When I enter admin in user name and my secure password to allow devises to connect to the network it lets me in. I thought the password to enter the system settings and the one to enter the network are usually separate. When I open the Cisco Connect program and go into the various menus there my “secure” password is written and visible for anyone who clicks it. Is this how it is supposed to work?Also, how do I occasionally change the password to enter into the network.
I'm trying to setup a Linksys wireless-g router model number WRT54G with my DSL connection. I followed the basic instructions that came with the router and towards the end of the process it says detecting network settings with a % bar. The bar fills to 100% and then asks for a password. I've tried the password my DSL company gave me along with various other things like admin etc. After I enter the password I hit enter and it just asks me for the password over and over again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedTrying to create a network for file sharing, as have upgraded the 'server' (part of a Workgroup, not a Domain) from WinXP to Win7 and experienced problems ever since. Ironically the problems haven't mainly been with sharing files between Win7 and WinXP systems, but between 2 Win7 systems. I bought a new Win7 laptop and tried to connect it to the server, but it hasn't had Read/Write privileges over the files in the Win7 server. Entering a username and password to gain access to the servers folders has not been a problem, and as far as I know, opening files such as documents has not been a problem either. However, when trying to save an edited document, access is denied, and if I try to open an executable file (this is necessary for a node installation), it prompts me for a network password. Every combination possible of username and password from the 2 systems (including '' or 'SYSTEMNAME' before the username) has not worked. I tried syncing the times which was apparently a previous problem, but to no avail. I am unable to access Local Security Policy, as the server is running off Home Premium. I have tried creating a new workgroup, removing and changing passwords, enabling guest access to the network through the Windows Resource Kit Command Shell, creating identical users on both computers, but nothing appears to have worked.

If I try to ping it, Sometimes I manage but more often it fails.. Any time the browser says dns error - server cannot be found. View 1 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that whenever I switch my pc on I have to physically enable the WZC program and then select windows to manage my wireless network settings. Once I enable it this way it is fine, but then if I restart or shut down my pc then I have to do all the process again...which is rather annoying!I have a BT Home Hub 2.0 and Cisco WUSB600N dual band wireless adapter.I understand you have to choose one program to manage the wireless network settings as they conflict, but on the Network Magic program that comes with the Cisco adapter, I cannot find an option on there to disable it.There is another pc using the hub with an exact same adapter aswell and when that is switched on the broadband connection automatically loads on that. So I am a bit stuck, I've trawled the internet for answers but have come to a dead end.

Lately, I'd say for about the past 3 months, after I start up my computer, I open my mail (windows live) and I open an internet browser, either "IE" or "Firefox"... Mail opens and receives no problem... my internet connection is fine... (have trouble shot all of that), but the internet will not open... It looks like it is going to start, then nothing... no message, not a thing. So I reboot and it opens... very odd no rhyme of reason for it, simply works fine one day and not another... I can't find any info. on the internet about this problem and no one I know has ever heard of it... Yes, I've run all the scans and checks with no viruses/spam, etc. detected... I'm using AVG free and Malawarebytes... was using Windows Security Essentials when is started... I have also scanned the computer in safe mode and no problems detected.
