Attached is my updated ASA 5505 (8.4[2]) config. With this config, basically the "laptop" group works fine, but the leo and orion groups don't ever receive packets inbound. No DNS, nothing.
The laptop is windows, the other two are servers with two NICs. The interface cards are Intel Pro/1000s. I've been through everything including Vlan protocol conflicts and actually enabled the servers for 802.1(Q).
Is it possible to two or more public IP Addresses bound to a Cisco ASA 5505 running 8.4(2).

I have ASA 5520 with Ver 8.2.Outside interface is directly connected to ISP's router(TelePacific) and is assigned one of public IP:198.24.210.226.There are two servers inside the network with the private IP's:192.168.1.20 for DB Server, and 192.168.1.91 for Web Server.I did Static NAT 198.24.210.226 to 192.168.1.20 and 198.24.210.227 to 192.168.1.91.When I access DB Server(198.24.210.226) it's working OK but when I access Web Server(198.24.210.227) there is no response at all.I checked the inside traffic, it even did not get into the firewall.Is this the problem with ISP's router? How can we route all of our public IP's to the outside interface(198.24.210.226)?

I have three public IP:s from /24 network like 83.x.x.10, 83.x.x.25 and 83.x.x.41 all using netmask 255.255.255.0.
I'm using 83.x.x.10 on ASA outside interface and trying to do static nat for inside servers with those other IP:s, but not yet solved it.
Using Cisco ASA 5505 software v9.02

This works other networks that are like whole network with /29 mask and have router in front of ASA using bridge. But in my case i just have DSL modem bridged in front of ASA. This static nat works like should if i use like Zywall USG series fw and this same configuration works in my customers, but they have those scenarios i said having mask /29 and router in front...
It seems that the problem is in ASA, like i won't show those public IP:s to public router from my operator. Because if i roll those other public IP:s on my ASA:s outside interface: i will use 83.x.x.25 and 83.x.x.41 on outside interface and after that put back my original 83.x.x.10 then my static nat is working just fine, atleast few hours, but not in next morning because ISP router flushes ARP cache.
I have ASA 5520 with Version 8.2(5), the ISP give me a block of IP pubic (201.148.156.193/28), one IP valid (201.148.156.194) have the Global NAT (all users LAN) and server FTP, but i need that IP 201.148.156.195 is used for VCSe, and the IP 201.148.156.196 is used for other server FTP.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm currently replacing my ASA 5505 with a 5510. I have a range of public IP addresses, one has been assigned to the outside interface by the setup wizard (e.g. 123.123.123.124 ) and another I would like to NAT to an internal server (e.g 192.168.0.3 > 123.123.123.125). On my asa 5505 this seemed fairly straigh forward, i.e. create an incoming access rule that allowed SMTP to 123.123.123.125 and then create a static nat to translate 192.168.0.3 to 123.123.123.125. Since I've tried to do the same on the 5510 traffic is not passing through so I'm assuming that the use of additional public IP addresses is not handled in the same way as the 5505? I also see that by default on the 5505, 2 VLANs are created, one for the inside and one for the outside, where as this is not the case on the 5510. Is the problem that VLANs or sub-interfaces need to be created first? I'm doing the config via ASDM.
Everything else seems to OK i.e. access to ASDM via 123.123.123.124, outbound PAT and the site-to-site VPN.
New to the ASA 5505 8.4 software version, but here is what I'm trying to do:
-Single static public IP: 16.2.3.4
-Need to PAT several ports to three separate servers behind firewall
-One server houses email, pptp server, ftp server and web services: 10.1.20.91
-One server houses drac management (port 445): 10.1.20.92
-One server is the IP phone server using a range of ports: 10.1.20.156
Basically, need to PAT the ports associated with each server to the respective servers behind the ASA 5505. Is anything missing from this config? Do I need to include a global policy for PPTP and SMTP? [code]
We have 2 IP blocks from my ISP. We have been using just one a /30 block with one IP address used on the outside interface of the device. The new block is a /29 range and I would need to use just two of those IP addresses. Here is the situation I am facing.A company we partnered with wants to set up a VPN, they will send us 2 Cisco 861s to put behind our ASA. Is it possible to assign these 861's with public IPs from the block that we are not currently using? (the /29 range)? I know that it might require an upgrade to the Security Plus.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThe client I am doing work for as ASA 5505 at a remote location that is using Cox Communications for the ISP. The ISP assigned 5 static IP addresses, but we only need 1 for this location. However, that is the minimum you get no matter what. The issue is that the subnet mask is a /25 and what they are telling me is that the ASA is grabbing all the IP addresses in that range. They asked if there is anyway to keep the ASA from grabbing those IP addresses. Now, I have never run into this issue before with a provider. The gateway is in the /25 subnet, so going to a /30 isn't an option.

My ISP provided me with one public static IP address, one gateway address and a subnet mask 255.255.255.252
1/ I would like to ask which interface I should assign the public static IP address to. Should it be assigned to the outside interface 0, or should it be assigned to the DMZ interface 6, while outside interface would be configured to use DHCP?
I tried to assign the static IP address to the outside interface first, but then when I used ASDM the “Public Servers” feature to configure NAT, I get error message that the outside interface and the public address cannot have the same IP address.
2/ For the sake of peace of mind, I am thinking about using the second firewall, which would be used only for the inside network. Can I connect this second firewall to one of the inside interfaces of the 1st firewall,
We have 2 TS (Terminal Servers) and have configured the 1st RDP using my public address (say 8.8.8.8) on port 3389. it is working very well of course. However I need setup my 2nd TS but will use port 7777 on the same public address which is not working.I am using ASDM 6.3 and firmware 8.3.1.Is this a limitation for this IOS?

We've a Cisco ASA 5505 connected directly to Verizon FiOS Circuit (ONT) box using Ethernet cable. As per the existing documention that I have, the previous configured this as a dedicated router to establish a seperate VPN connection our software provider. They assigned both Public Static and Local Static IP address. When I try to ping the public IP address, it says request time out; so the public IP address is no longer working.
When I ping the local IP address of 192.168.100.11, it responds. The SolarWind tool also shows Always UP signal. How can I login into this router either from remotely or locally to check the configuration, backup and do the fimrware upgrade?
I also tried to connect my laptop directly to the ASA 5505 router LAN port. After 3 minutes, I'm able to connect to Internet without any issues. However I don't know the IP address to use to login.
I'm trying via the ASDM to port forward http connections to a DVR for the purpose of viewing IP cams.I've tried via ASDM to create a public server but I'm not allowed to use my public IP address for the public Interface.I have only one public IP address available.Is there any way round this ? I would also like to know how I can enable NAT with PAT.I've tried setting the outside Interface for use with PAT but It keeps reverting to the setting for a range of external addresses.I'm not really used to the ASA cli yet , I'm getting there.If there's a workaround via the CLI , I'll take that route.

It's a 5505 with a 10 user inside host license, wich incidentally is more.
We currently have 2 different ASA 5505 connect to our ASA5510. We want to VPN connect the 2 5505's to each other while still mantaining connection to our 5520. I have attached pdf of what we have. What we want is to connect traffic between the two 5505's so that devices in either location can talk to each other while still mantainig connection to the 5510.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI want to know with an ASA 5505 w/ Security Plus License I get up to 20 VLANS/Named Interfaces.I have a customer that is getting a new subnet of external IP addresses from their service provider and a different default gateway to accomodate re-hosting their datacenter at their main office instead of at a Colo. My question, when building out their new DMZ, can I have multiple route 0.0.0.0 commands?
Example.
Current Default Gateway 1.1.1.X
Internal hosts 192.168.1.0 use and are natted to 1.1.1.X
New Default Gateway for DMZ Servers 2.2.2.x
Internal hosts still use 1.1.1.X, but server hosts in 192.168.1.3 should use 2.2.2.X -- there are also a bunch of pre-existing static NAT rules for these servers such as 2.2.2.30 translates to 192.168.1.30.
I think I would accomplish this by using the following:
route inside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 1.1.1.X
route DMZ 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 2.2.2.x
Would this be correct?

LAN servers can be separated into discrete networks for security. For example, a private LAN for internal traffic accessed only via remote dial-in VPN sessions and Want to Configure DMZ for Server (S-4, S-5, S-6) that allows public web traffic.

We've read everything about inspecting SIP packets and allowing them to pass through on port 5060, the default SIP port. However, our setup requires the ASA 5505 to allow SIP on ports 5060, 5160 and 5260.
Is this possible with the ASA 5505? If it's not, it would be a blocking issue for us to move forward with ASA appliances. We are currently investigating in a lab environment and really having difficulties configuring it to facilitate full SIP functionality.
I have an ASA 5505 running 8.2(1), that is configured with three interfaces as follows:
Inside (security 100) 10.0.0.0 /24
Inside 2 (security 100) 192.168.0.0 /24
Outside (security 0) internet
Inside is connected to my internal network, inside 2 is connected to the network of a sister organization, outside is outside.
I'd like to be able to route between from inside to inside 2, and have NAT translate me to inside2's address.
I have inter-interface traffic configured, and when I use a NAT exemption, I can route fine. But the resources on network 2 must see my request as coming from the inside2 interface IP.
This is for an ASA 5505 with the base license...I have a situation where I will not have one interface in my outside VLAN, but instead I want to have interfaces 1-7 in my outside VLAN and interface0/0 in my inside VLAN.
Is this supported with the Base license, and if so how would I do this? Do I still just need to assign one IP address to the outside VLAN?
Or will I need to upgrade to the Security Plus license and put each interface in a separate outside VLAN, so in essence I would have 7 outside VLANs each with the same security level (0)?
My situation is that I have several partner networks that i want to "aggregate" thru my one ASA 5505. So each outside interface represents a separate partner (outside) network, each of which I want to get to from my inside network. Hence the many outside to one inside.

Our current cable ISP is having issues providing us with consistant connectivity. I would like to bring in a second ISP to allow my users to choose where they will connect to. There will be two dns names and i just want to to be able to choose between them.
Is this possible on the ASA5505? supporting two ISPs at one time for VPN on both?
I have an ASA 5505 with the security plus software and I'm trying to find out how to assign 2 public IPs to the outside interface and have each IP routed to a separate internal VLAN. For example, IP 1 = X.X.X.1 routed to 192.168.1.0 and IP 2 X.X.X.2 routed to 192.168.2.0.
