Everything was working fine till one day, when clicking on Configuration Button you see setup wizard prompt.It's ASDM ver:6.2 and ASA 8.2. Everything is working fine, but now unable to change any rules.
It there simple cure for that?
I am trying to configure a site to site ipsec vpn with 2 cisco 5505 ASA's. Unfortunately when i open up the ASDM there is no vpn wizard to start the configuration.The version of ASDM i am using from flash is 645-206.bin and the firmware on the ASA's is 842-k8.bin so should be ok. Why the VPN wizard doesnt appear?

I want to setup NAT with ASDM on ASA for a client and I can not make it work. I have several interface:
Inside: 10.97.0.1 / 24
Outside: 10.0.1.70 /24
Interco: 192.168.6.1 /24
Other Sites: 10.26.0.4 /24
All routing in the network is Ok My customer want to access a server @ ip 10.194.70.1 in https on the interface Interco with his nat address as 10.97.0.11 .This server must be accessible with the address 10.97.0.11:443 from interfaces inside, outside and other sites.And source address must be nated with original destination address 10.97.0.11 to be redirected on 10.194.70.1.
I have an issue with ASDM 6.4(1) and ASA 8.2(1). I use Windows XP 64bits, and with Java 32 or 64 bits latest version (jre 6.025). I am able to load the ASDM, but when I click on the Configuration button to check the configuration and perform changes, it starts to parse configuration, but it freezes at 77%. It also locks my NIC, and have to restart my machine.
If I connect to a machine with another different configuration, and with version 8.0, I have no issue in contacting and changing the configuration from the same computer.
I've run into an interesting problem.

When I make a change at the CLI, syslog message ASA-5-111008 is generated and sent to the syslog servers, local buffer, and ASDM.When I make a change in ASDM, syslog message ASA-5-111008 is generated and sent to the local buffer and ASDM. It is NOT sent to the syslog server.
so we have been using our current ASA5505 for a long time. Since it only support up to 10 VPN licenses, so we buy a new ASA5505-SEC-BUN-K9(support up to 25 users).
the old ASA are running: 8.0.3 and ASDM 6.0.3
the new ASA are running: 8.2.5 and ASDM 6.4.5
I thought it would be simple as export and import the config file, but when i tried to restore, the new one is looking for a zip file but the old one doesn;t backup file in ZIP. It looks like i need to update the ASA version or/and ASDM?
I am pretty new to this and never upgrade any of these versions since I am aware of the upgrade may mess things up. So do I need to upgrade both the ASA version and the ASDM in order to restore my config? any effect if i do the upgrade? I also read some articles, we need to upgrade on the version one by one, like 8.0 to 8.1 then 8.2?
I bought a Cisco 851W router from a coworker about a year ago and tried setting it up at my home with nothing but headaches. I finally gave up and went with DD-WRT and have yet to look back (my $40 router outperforms this thing on so many levels, but I'm getting off-topic!). I recently re-discovered this beast and pulled it out of storage to see if I could get a test network setup at home to practice on. I checked for any IOS updates and downloaded (and installed) the lastest image (c850-advsecurityk9-mz.124-15.T15.bin). I consoled in and verified the initial 10.10.10.1 IP was configured in the VLAN1 interface and directly connected a PC to one of the switchports and pulled a 10.10.10.2 address. I pull up SDM from my browser (I have used FF, IE, and Chrome, all with the same results. Java version is the latest, 6 Update 26.) and it launches the initial configuration wizard. I go through the steps and get up to the DHCP Configuration (after LAN, before Internet/WAN setup) and try to click Next and nothing happens. It doesn't freeze as I can easily go Back, but can never move forward beyond the DHCP configuration. Pressing Cancel on the wizard just shuts down SDM as a whole and exits.
In my troubleshooting steps, I did notice that as soon as I click Next in the DHCP configuration, nothing will happen in the wizard, but the SDM window in the background will automatically present the "Apply Changes" and "Discard Changes" buttons, which weren't there in the previous steps. Of course, neither of those are clickable due to the wizard being open. I really don't want to configure this thing from scratch using the CLI if I don't have to..is there ANY way I can bypass the SDM Wizard at all? Also, I'm running SDM Express, would downloading ASDM and trying to connect from there make any difference?
I am trying to come up with a standard way to configure controllers for my field guys. I'd like to just have them paste in a config that has all the settings, like we use to be able to do on aIOS. I am not seeing away to break out of the wizard so that they can just paste in a config. Do you have to go through the wizard in order to get to a CLI ?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just installed a WAP321. I literally configured a test SSID, implemented WPA Personal security, and could not get an iPad or Blackberry to associate with the network. The error message that appears in the Blackberry is "EAP Authentication Failed". But isn't EAP applicable only to the WPA Enterprise mode? The access point works fine if I have the test SSID without any security, but as soon as I turn on WPA Personal security, nothing can connect. Is there something really obvious I'm missing here?(When I select WPA Personal security, I have tried with just the "WPA2" version and "AES" cipher selected, as well as with check boxes ticked on both WPA/WPA2, and on both TKIP/AES. Neither works.)

1) Physical Reset of SR520-FE to factory defaults
2) Run CCA 3.1(1) and connect to 192.168.75.1 using the default cisco/cisco login
3) Under the Home Menu, click the Device Setup Wizard
4) In Step 1, sellect the SR520 and observe that there is also a photograph of the SR520-FE(W) model displayed as feedback for Step 1
5) Try variations of Steps 2 through 4
Note: Step 4 has a problem because it says to plug the power into the device, but if the power was not already plugged in to begin with, we could not run the Device Setup Wizard in the first place.
6) Step 5 prompts for a user name and password.
BUG: No permutations of the documented default usernames and passwords "cisco" or "admin" work. The result is always the error dialog:Device Connectivity Status - "Failure: Not Connected.""Return to Step 1. Make sure that your PC is not connected to a network and you follow all the instructions."A search of the web indicates others are also had this unresolved issue with previous CCA releases.

When I open the adviser it goes to setup wizard, I get a screen that tells me to disconnect my old router which I have done. The next screen gives a list of routers to select from my router x2000 is not on the list. How can I get passed this screen? So I can use the adviser to set up other computers and printer.

The same happens when I replace the Windows 7 PC IP address with the Windows 7 PC name.I tried to set up a network between the two PCs with the MS network wizard on the XP box. It made a setup disk with a single file on it. I was supposed to run the setup file on the other PCs that are supposed to be on the network but, whe I did, I got the following message.Cannot complete the Network Setup Wizard,An error occurred during the configuration of the network on this computer.You can configure the network manually.

I am not sure how the current setup is done there is no configuration map.The users in office 1 are all connected to a patch panel that then connects to hubs The second office users connect to a hub that then connects to the patch panel then connects to another hub.The internet is connected to a router that will be replaced with a firewall. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been having an annoying issue for the past few weeks with my ASA setup. We are using the ASA as our Remote Access Gateway and originally had it setup in a Active/Standby failover configuration using 2 x 5520 ASA's.The original setup of the devices was that the 2 x ASA were setup in a failover configuration, with both of them connecting back to the internal network via a 6500 device. Because of using failover I created a VLAN on the 6500 and put the two ports that connect the ASA's into that VLAN. I then configured the VLAN interface to be the EIGRP interface for the neighbour relationship to the ASA's.
The problem I am seeing is that the EIGRP neighbour relationship between the Active ASA and the 6500 keeps flapping. It occurs abour 4-5 times every day at randmon intervals. Sometimes the neighbour relationship will stay up for 6-7 hours, other times it flaps every 1-2 hours. I initially thought it was due to the failover configuration so I removed one of the ASA's and removed all of the failover configuration, but the EIGRP neighbour flapping problem still exisits. [code] Since removing the failvoer configuration I am thinking it could be a physical cable problem?
We have 2 ASA 5510's setup in an active, standby failover configuration. When the primary fails over to standby, the 3rd party cert does not failover to the standby ASA. The users then receive the CERT missing, invalid message and have to select yes, no to move on. This does not occur when the primary is not in failover mode. It is my understanding that failover fails over certs but in our case it does not apper to be working correctly.

I have anyconnect up and working great on for vpn users using local authentication. Im going over the white papers and seeing a lot of options for NT domain, LDAP, tacacs+ etc
we would like remote vpn users to autherticate using their windows domain password, but Im not sure which would be the easiest and quickest option to configure, and I cant find a guide for asdm setup for this topic that doesnt cause more questions than answers . I would like to configure an ASA5512-X in firewall transparent mode, but I am having trouble getting ASDM to lauch when I do.
I have created a BVI interface with an IP address, and I hve enabled the mangement interface, but ASDM does not lauch when I enter the IP adress of the BVI I created.
Apprently you need to use the bridge-group command to assign an interfce to a bridge group. When I enter this command at the (config-if) prompt for Management 0/0, this command is not recognized.
What are the general steps for configuring the management interface to be able to launch ASDM in transparent mode?
I would just like to to open UDP port 123 in the ASA 5510 Firewall so that our Primary Domain Controller could use this port to sync time with an external time source. We have already added an access rule for this port under the firewall configuration in ASDM 6.4 and this port was also allowed in the inbound and outbound rule of the PDC's Firewall but it seems that it was still blocked.
