I have CISCO pix, version 525, today while trying to save the config, I am getting below error

We recently installed Cisco 6509-E with dual Sup 720-BXL. We are using this switch on internet Edge. Internet connection is terminating on 10GIG fiber port.We do have following line cards installed.
1. 10 GIG * 4 port line card
2. 1 GIG * 8 port line card
3. Empty
4. Empty
5. Sup 720-3BXL
6. Sup 720-3BXL
7. 1 GIG * 48 ports
8. 1 GIG * 48 ports
9. 1 GIG * 48 ports
We do have 2 GB internet pipe.We are running load test sending http port 80 request and when load reach to arround 100 to 200 mbps and connections from out side to inside 80,000 switch start reponding very very slow and start packet loss and when I try to ping from one server to second server it show normal ping but if I tried to ping gateway IP of server which is SWITCH IP it show packet loss and very high letancy.
Switch also throw message "No memory available: Update of NVRAM configuration failed"

I have a strange issue which happened to me last weekend with two ASA 5515X on version 8.6(1)2. There was a planned power shutdown which only affected the primary firewall. Failover was configured and running successfully. The configuration was also saved after every change made. After power was shut and primary firewall went off the secondary took over like it should but unfortunately all configuration was gone. We immediately powered on the primary again but also this one lost the configuration.
While reconfiguring the firewall we ran into another problem. The devices won't pair although it was the correct configuration. After three times removing and adding the same failover configuration the devices accepted the failover and worked together again.
I went through the bug toolkit and white papers regarding ASA 5515x and this particular version but were not able to find anything.

I was working on a Cisco 2600 series router earlier today running IOS 12.4. I ran into an issue where I could not clear the startup-config. I tried:
router#erase startup-config
router#reload
router#erase nvram
router#reload

each time IP addresses and things got cleared but other aspects did not which should have been. In the nvram there were several files:

I am configuring an ASA5540 firewall for a client, only difference to usual being that it is to run in Transparent mode. I have looked through for an EAL4 transparent firewall config guide but found nothing and therefore assumed that the usual one would be used.The clients security bod has now come back and insisted MAC filtering should be used but I can find no reference of this anywhere. Does MAC filtering is required to make a transparent box EAL4 compliant and if so where I can find documentation supporting this?

I have a Sup32 that I suspect has faulty NVRAM (e.g., I am unable to "wr mem" on the device - it states resource is busy but no other active connections exist). Prior to replacing the supervisor engine I'd like to take a crack at formatting NVRAM to see if it resolves the issue. This supervisor does not have a CF card installed, thus no Disk0:. Within the CLI, I am presented two options with the "format" command - bootflash: and sup-bootflash:. Bootflash: does not have any data on it, however, sup-bootflash: contains my IOS image. I believe that both of these locations are simply directories within NVRAM.

I upgraded the IOS on my 887VA router which is not yet in service. The next day I did a cold boot and made some changes. Then, when I wrote them this warning popped up which seems to imply I need to recreate my configuration from scratch in order to avoid potential issues.Is that the correct interpretation of this message/scenario? I've deployed many Cisco PIX 501 v6.3.3 either as normal firewalling feature and/or with VPN features enabled. I noticed in all my deployments, regardless if it's during peak hours or after office hours, the memory utilization is always consistent 11MB utilized over the total of 16MB(memory default size).

I was looking at my CISCO ASA 5520 and i found something really strange
ciscoasa/VPN-context# sh mem detail
Used memory: 4259249568 bytes (793%)

Total memory: 536870912 bytes (100%)
but when I look at the system context this is what I see
ciscoasa# sh mem
Free memory: 170829000 bytes (32%)
Used memory: 366041912 bytes (68%)
------------- ----------------
Total memory: 536870912 bytes (100%)
As far as I know the ASA is working good.

Used Memory: 81%
Is this normal? Because we hade a problem this morning and the memory was at 100%..

My Pix seems to have a memory leak ?
Result of the command: "sh memory"
Free memory: 6088072 bytes ( 9%)
Used memory: 61020792 bytes (91%)

Total memory: 67108864 bytes (100%)
This is 30mins after a restart. Seem like it gets worse and worse until i cant even connect to the ASDM.
I have Tried turning off loggin as well as some connection timeout commands.

Come across pix 525 with 7.2.4 , 256 MB RAM, experienceing high memory utilization ?.show memory was giving used memory = 97%.All I had done was, i did a reboot of the firewall since we were not able to take the control of the f/w.I wonder why only the standby f/w had this issue and not the primary does not have, just to rule out that it was not due to Traffic.I have searched in bugtool kits and support forums and did not find anything relevant except for a similar issue for ASA CSCsg43844.

I need to add memory to my ASA 55xx's (running 8.2(2)), some of which are config'd active/active or active/standby. The docs say that ram must be identical, which makes sense for production. My question is this: can I upgrade the standby units first, make them active, and then upgrade their mate? Or must I schedule downtime to take the pair down for the upgrade?

I upgraded our ASA5540 to 8.4, THEN noted the increased requirements for Memory. I purchased the 2Gig upgrade, but when installing in the Primary unit today, noted that there were 4 slots. Slots 1/3 had 512Mb modules, so I installed the 2 x 1Gig modules in slots 2/4.
The ASA5540 came up clean, and it "sees" the entire 3Gig of memory.
My question: Is this a SUPPORTED configuration? All documentation I have read only mentions 2Gig of memory. Also, If I had FOUR x 1Gig memory modules, would the ASA5540 support the 4Gigs of memory?

I am using a Pix515E with 8.0(3) and 128MB RAM. It ran OK for months but has recently had several episodes during which it produced streams of memory allocation failures (syslog 211001). When in this condition I could not log into the VPN. It was still operating but some users were having problems and I eventually had to restart it.
The traffic load is typically 10Mbps, and the max number of connections is around 10,000 but typically 5,000. The CPU usage is 10%-20%. There is 1 VPN with normally 1 client. The memory usage is always high, between 115MB and 120MB but during these problems it creeps higher.
Why might the memory usage be so high when my network load is quite light for the 515E? What circumstances cause the memory usage to increase during operation? Is there anything I can do to prevent the memory usage increasing to the point where the PIX crashes?
I have a second 515E with 8.0(4)32 and 64MB RAM, loaded with the same config. I have not had this one in service, but off-line it is using 53MB of memory. If the spare pix needs 53MB to load the firmware and my config, why does the other one use 115MB?

We had two PIXes in our environment and working as a active-failover mode. Its noted in now a days the active PIX memory utilization is 98% and for standby PIX it is 96%. And also in some times we were experiencing packet loss to the ip of active PIX and which reflects in the inside servers access also. During that time the active pix was not accessible via ssh as well as ASDM. We have tried reloading the PIX and changing failover state of the PIX, but it results only a temporary solution. Current memory installed is 128 MB (maximum upgraded), so a upgrade is also not possible. Please see the show command outputs from the PIX. Current Software version is 7.2(4)

Got an ASA 5505 with the standard 256MB memory. I recently upgrade from 8.2.5 to 8.4.4, and converted over the NAT rules. Problem is, I'm now running very low on memory (RAM): [code]
The ASA doesn't do anything too fancy. Just 1 VPN and 4 inside hosts. Is there any easy way to free up memory, or do I just have to bite the bullet and upgrade to 512MB?

We want to run ASA 8.4.x on an old ASA5540. We need to upgrade its memory to 2 GB with the following memory upgrade: ASA5540-MEM-2GB=
I suspect that we will completely remove the existing 1 GB of memory and replace it with 2 GB. If this is the case, can I use this 1 GB of memory removed from the ASA5540 and put it in a ASA5510 instead of buying a ASA5510-MEM-1GB= for the ASA5510?

We recently added about 400 users to our network for a total of 1000. Looking at the ASDM we are holding very tight to 75% utilization and we have 256mbs. This is also running IOS 8.2(1). Our firewall recently crashed after a major download was forced through it. This was after only being booted up for about a week. We had reloaded it a week prior after having ran it for about a year without issue. We havent made any changes in the last month other than adding more users to our network.

My understanding from the old config file was that any traffic coming from source 10.130.101.2 to destination 10.132.102.0 would NOT be translated and this shall remain the same in 8.4.How can I rewrote the NAT commands?
