I am trying to enable IP SLA on a Cisco 4948 switch (running 'cat4500-ipbasek9-mz.122-46.SG.bin') to test CiscoWorks IPM using this swtich as a source device. But I can't run the command "ip sla monitor" on this switch. It just has "ip sla responder". Is it possible to configura IP SLA on this source switch? Or can I do it only on routers?
View 6 Repliesi have a requirement to enable pbr in vrf interface of a 4948 switch. but as i browse the internet, it is quite impossible to do that. is there any alternative way / feature to get the same result as pbr does? which is to reroute the specific vrf traffic to another interface based on source and destination ip address?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have got a new 48port Cisco catalyst 4948 switch, which I configured as a VTP client and connected to Cisco 3750 which is a VTP Server (this switch is on production network). I connected port g1/0/48 from 3750 to port g1/48 on 4948 through a straight cable and made both ports as trunk port (I also tried through cross cable). The problem is these two switches are not detecting. For testing I connected a PC directly to one of the port on 4948 (making that a switch port) still the LED on switch didn’t glow up. Is there any special command needs to be run on 4948 switches to activate its physical ports?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI performed an upgraded on a 4948 switch and for some reason the switch kept booting with the old IOS. I was not sure if I needed to change the boot sequence but I performed this upgrade on some of our other 4948's and no issues.I eventually deleted the older IOS version and left the latest version on and reloaded switch and now switch only boots in rommon.I managed to configure the ip info and tftp server ip etc and using the following command as suggested in the rommon help, but it keeps coming back saying 'file not found', when I have checked the file does exist in the tftp server and in the tftpboot folder.

I need to enable STP on vlan 100 and vlan 103.
When I do "spanning-tree vlan 100,103 root primary" and then "show spanning-tree".I see that STP is not enable on these vlans (100,103).
I tried to do "no spanning-tree vlan 1-99,101,102,104-4094" and it is not work.
There is a way to enable STP on vlans 100,103 without to do "spanning-tree vlan 1-4094"

I just found out that I can not enabled dot1x on trunk port. I have tried to use "switchport voice vlan " but I got:
Switch(config-if)#switchport voice vlan 123
Command rejected: Gi7/20 is Dot1x enabled port.
let me know what should I do to get dot1x working?

i have several Cisco 4948 in my network infrastucture, the issue that i´m having with them is when i try to view the ssh log appears something like this.. The ip address is correct but the username is in blank i checked on other equipments (2960 access switches and 7200 series router) and they show the username field correctly...
