I would like to monitor access ports to servers in cases:
- When port to server down, alert appears in Fault Monitor panel
- Monitor when bandwidth utilization of access ports exceeds 60%.
I configured Fault Threshold on DFM>System Defined Groups>Access port Settings and Poller settings on the same group but it did not work when I shut a port to server.

I've googled this for a while, and come up with software called 'Quagga' or 'Xorp' which I understand is host-based routing software, but I don't quite understand if these satisfy what I need. Am I barking up the wrong tree or can I do this already with Cisco routers?

In my webdmz I use 2 ACE 4710 proxys in FT mode. I used a layer 2 switch to connect firewall and proxys together.
I would like to eliminate this switch if possible..and connect both 4710's (layer 2) direct to firewall.If I could make gi0/2 - 4 part of the same vlan, then I would be good to go.
One of techs accidentally connected two access ports from different switches together. Since then, LMS is alerting them as being Link ports down. I tried to default the config and set them to access ports without any success. what I should do in LMS to recognize them as access ports?

Specifically i have issues with using FAX client. ringcentral.com is ENABLED on the router, so anything within this DOMAIN will work (as forum.ringcentral.com etc.)
BUT when i attempt to send a fax, it falls into a black hole. although the client application shows - being sent, it wont go to SENT items and it just disappears. When i disable the website filter on router, it works.
there must be a different URL that the ring central call controlled tries to connect when sending. Receiving works no problem even with the website filter on. How do i detect / intercept what ULR / IP address is truing to be reached so i can enable it on the website filter ?
I am pretty new to Cisco - and I have a little 506E that I love. I got it working with my first scenario where I have one server that is my web, and e-mail server.I also opened the RDP port so I can remote into it. The IP's for the old server are internal 192.168.1.23 name ferbweb-external 71.12.111.219 name ferbwebpub. Now - I need to add another server in the exact same way with the same ports 80, 25, and 3389 open to the outside - IP's internal 192.168.1.31 name ferbmail and external 71.12.111.220 name ferbmailpub.I can get to all of these ports on the new server on the inside network - so that is not the problem.So, I went into the config, copied the statements for the old server, and changed them for the new server and added them to the config. I can still get to the old server from the outside fine, but cannot get to any ports on the the new server from the outside at all.I have done a lot of research, and cannot find what I am doing wrong.

I looked up how to forward ports -- and even called an AT&T representative -- and I am sure that I forwarded them correctly. I'm trying to host a Minecraft Server. I forwarded port 25565 in TCP and in UDP. After that wouldn't work, the AT&T representative said that the traffic was being blocked from my side. I then checked my Windows Firewall and allowed all proper applications -- Minecraft and Minecraft Server. When that wouldn't work, I went in an manually added exceptions to Windows Firewall for TCP - 25565 and UDP - 25565 Inbound and the same for Outbound. Nothing.I have tried to check the ports in DMZ mode with Windows Firewall disabled -- they are still timing out. What should I do?

To be specific it is 1 card that has two rj-45 ports on it. My question is, what is the benefit of dual ports? I have heard of teaming but don't really know if that applies. I will be using this server for our company website and to facilitate local office backups as well as backing up our regional offices to it. I could see that it would benefit local LAN traffic speed, but outside of the LAN would it still benefit the speed of incoming connections from branch offices running backups?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've installed XAMPP on one of my Vista computers, and intend to use it as a server. The internal IP address of the server is A.B.C.D. The internal IP address of the DIR-615 is A.B.C.E. whatsmyip.com says that external address of the server is F.G.H.I (and so is everything else inside my network). I have Filezilla listening on port 21. I've turned Windows Firewall completely off on the server, and my ISP (Time Warner / Road Runner) says that they never block any port.I tried going to the DIR-615 using Port Forwarding, and set ports 21 & 90 to forward to A.B.C.D, for both UDP & TCP, Allow All, Always. That didn't work.I tried going to the DIR-615 using Virtual Server. I set a virtual server on port 21 to A.B.C.D, for both UDP & TCP, Allow All, Always. It made me turn off Port Forwarding, and it wouldn't let me use both 21 & 90 on the same rule, so made two rules. That didn't work either.
I tried setting A.B.C.D as a DMZ host. That still didn't work.I can ftp connect into A.B.C.D from one of the other computers in the network. People outside the network can't connect to F.G.H.I. I can't connect to F.G.H.I. from inside the network. The same is true of Apache (but ports 80, 81 & 443), Ventrilo (but ports 3784 & 6100) and MySQL (but port 3306). Why is loop-back only working on ports forwarded in the Virtual Server section and not Port Forwarding or even DMZ? I have seen a post about loop-back on the DIR-655 from a while ago that had said to disable SPI and change NAT Endpoint to independent, I have done this and loop-back still doesn't work.

I have 5 VLANs, I assign VLANs to its ports and make them all Untagged.I created ACLs and a ACE rules for each ACL, and then assigned to the ports.So what i am trying to do is to deny access to from one port to other 4 ports and granted access to any other ports. But it is not working, without last rule "allow any any" it has no access to any ports, with the last rule it grants access to every port even to those I denied.Router in Layer 3 mode, all VLANs have their IP's.
At some moment I was able to work it properly but without using any rules, I just tagged my untagged VLANs to those ports which I wanna get access to. As you can see I want allow ports GE1 - GE4 communicate with 1 to 24 ports but not to each other.

After login with the Anyconnect client, i am restricted to access the single host configured, but not based on ports. i.e. i do not want user to RDP the server allowed, but only access the application based on the port that is allowed. But somehow it is not working.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a SG200-18 in order to use LAG between a backup server and multiple computers and servers. Servers are supposed to all use 2 links and computers only 1.
As soon as I activate LAG on port 2 and 3, no matter what is connected on the switch I lose access to the switch interface (luckuly, it's still working on port 17 for a strange reason) and all computers / servers connected are randomly losing the network access. Everyrhing start to be slow but most servers and computers don't lose access to the internet. Browsing a web site will suddenly take ages but... it will work eventualy.
I already used LAG on other switch without a single issue.. The only uplink I have is to the router and I know that I don't have any issue with network cables....
So what am I doing wrong ??? I didn't even try to configure the TEAMING on the servers, just creating LAG on the switch will kill everything Oo.. I'm starting to think that my SG200 is dead out of the box.
