View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving being able to get a basic Ipsec VPN (with userid/password) connection to work between my Cisco ASA5505 and iPad over the Internet, I now am trying to introduce a digital certificate in the authentication VPN mechanism. However, I am getting an "Error processing payload: Payload ID: 1" , as seen on the Real time log viewer of my ASDM 6.2.This is what I did on the 5505 ASA to create a digital certificate:-
1) go to Configuration -> Remote Access VPN -> Network (Client) Access -> IPsec Connection Profiles and using the DefaultRAGroup profile I exported the Identity certificate (previously created) as PKCS12 with an appropriate passphrase/password.
2) I then created a new connection profile on the iPad using the CISCO ASA exported identity certificate. And unfortunately the connection fails, with the above message.
I would like to know if I am on the right track thinking I can use the CISCO identity certificate on the Client computer. The identity certificate is RSA 1024 bits and is self enrolled.I have not ebabled the CA Server in the Local Certificate Authority of the ASA 5505, I wonder if I have to.
IPsec VPN configured between ASA5525-X and Linksys RV042 ,While transfering some exe from ASA5525-X side to Linksys RV042 side over VPN hash-sum of this file changes, so, when you open transferred file, you have an error message "File is corrupted". If you try to transfer file from Linksys side, hash-sum is ok. Also, work with oracle application is interrupted because of unknown reason. IPsec works only if using router instead of ASA.

They insist they are getting a parsing error (Invalid algorithm specified) when they cut and past or import the file I send them. In fact, they have stated that they have had this error with another Linux-based CSR.
I'm not find this issue prevalent on the Internet, so I wonder is this if a user issue on their behalf or the fact that they are using a Win2003 box as a local CA.
How to get a Cisco ACS ".pem" file signed in a local Win2003 CA or advise to an alternative to configuring 802.1x using EAP-TLS?
My computer had a filter on it that used a proxy server. The company (called Familink) went out of business. They provided an application for removing the filter, but it did not work, and the filter was never removed. I believe when the filter was installed, it modified the registry to prevent internet browsing unless the proxy was active. Now, since the company is out of business, there is no way to use the proxy, and I cannot browse the internet at all. I can still connect to secure (https://) sites just fine, but not any other channel. It is not a problem with the ISP, because I can browse the internet just fine on the same computer using linux. It just does not work with windows. When running a diagnostic test, I get error 0x2751, or "WSAEHOSTUNREACH"

I recently had some trouble with my ASA 5505 in that the running config would not be saved after a reboot. Definitely looked like a hardware problem with the flash memory. I have since bought a new flash memory card and copied the contents of the old card to the new card. 1st problem I have is that I can see the image on the new card, but for some reason it wont boot into that image. I get /file not found
I then successfully load a new image to the device and it boots successfully. I then follow it with a
Cisco asa# config t
Cisco(config)# boot system disk0:/asa831-k8.bin
(to ensure it boots from the flash in the future) and I get
WARNING: BOOT variable added, but unable to find disk0:/asa831-k8.bin
I have since tried
ciscoasa# fsck disk0:
Unsupported file system type!
%Error checking disk0: (No such file or directory)
When ever I try to do anything with Disk0: i get the same error. (No such file or directory). I have also tried putting the old flash card in the ASA and I now get the same response.
Ok starting about an hour ago I seem to be having a problem accessing youtube as well as Facebook & now Microsoft?I have done some searching around and tried a few of the suggestions I found including; trying another browser (happens using both Mozilla and IE), clearing internet cache, unplugging my modem for a minute then plugging it back in, etc, and so far none of these have worked. I did get youtube to work once since then long enough to upload a 10 sec video but once it was uploaded and I tried editing the video details I once again found myself taken to the page that says The connection was reset.

I can't load the main page or any user profiles. Can't do it on IE/Firefox/Chrome or the in-game Steam browser. Weird part is that I can use Steam perfectly to play games, Friends system works, etc. Just the websites related to it don't load. Problem started about 2 weeks ago, went away for 5 days, but then came back (only messing with Steam websites again). I know the problem isn't Steam because all my friends have been able to use it normally this whole time. The problem is not limited to my own PC, every computer on my network has the same problem, even iPads/iPhones. I've checked for malware, came up clean; reset router to factory settings, done everything I've been able to come up with and the problem persists.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow fun. Earlier this week, my state experienced some severe weather which ended with a tree on our street falling and the power going out all day. It took a bit longer after that for our cable services to be restored - internet included. Ever since then, my computer in particular seems to be screwing things up for everyone else. When my computer is shut off, every other computer (one laptop, two desktops) in the house has been able to connect to the internet and maintain that connection all day. However, as soon as mine connects, the connection dies within minutes - for everyone.
I thought it could be an IP conflict but every machine in the house is set to obtain their IP automatically. Interestingly enough, when the XBOX 360 is bridged through my computer it (the xbox) also maintains a connection, albeit a slower one.I have reset both the router and modem, including hard resets, and I've pinged and pinged and pinged. The same thing seems to happen regardless of whether I am using a wired or wireless connection. Here's what I have:
Computer model is HP DV6838nr.
Modem is Toshiba DAZ8821F.
Router is Linksys wrt54g v5.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate.
I am using Firefox but have also tried Opera with the same results.

+ Computer has been showing a successful connection in the Network and Sharing Center even when websites fail to load and the connection has gone down for others.
+ When trying to use a wired connection for the first time, the computer could not connected. IT jumped back and forth between "Identifying..." and no connection at all.
+ I reset the router with both wired and wireless connections. With the wireless, it would become functional for a few minutes after being reset and then fail again. With the wired, the router would not broadcast at all. I ended up having to unplug it for a minute and then plug it back in to get it to broadcast again.
+ I tried using my cable with just the modem, but the Data and PC lights failed to light up upon doing this.
+ After all of this, I removed the wired connection and re-enabled my wireless on the laptop. Connection was restored for a few minutes.
+ Despite a successful ping after two minutes, most websites wouldn't load.
+ Switched to a different laptop after turning mine off and was able to maintain a normal internet connection for over an hour. After starting up the computer for the first time:
C:UsersManda>ping yahoo.com
Pinging yahoo.com [67.195.160.76] with 32 bytes of data:
Request timed out.

I have a small notebook Acer, win xp, atheros wi-fi.I've had no problems getting on the internet, until,on my desktop computer, with Belkin Wi-Fi add-on, I set up security on my network. Now my Acer will not load Internet Explorer.Once I gave the network logon and passkey on the wi-fi network on this computer, the Acer tells me I have connectivity and very strong signal, but IE will not load.I connected the wi-fi router direct to the Acer and again connectivity is strong but IE will not load.I direct connected cable internet to the Acer and again connectivity is there but IE will not load.I know if I re-do the security and put no-security on the network it will probably work but I really don't want to do that.

I did nothing different to my computer. It was online fine and then an hour later when I came back, it wouldn't load any pages. I have a DSL modem and a wireless router that also connects another family member's desktop to the Internet. (As well as our phones via wifi.). The connection is fine on the other PC through a wireless adapter (both are desktops), and on the wifi the phones work perfectly so I know the modem and router aren't the problem. But even though my desktop says it's connected (not wirelessly, it directly connects to the router.), no pages will load. If I use chrome browser it eventually tells me this webpage is not available regardless of which page I try to load, or sometimes it's telling me no data received - unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data. Yet oddly a couple of times after forever it seemed to half load a couple pages. Internet Explorer just keeps trying to load pages forever with blank white page as a result.

I have between 8 and 10 computers on my home LAN. They are split between the default workgroup name 'WORKGROUP' and the name I have assigned to my home LAN.There is a mixture of Win XP, Win 7 32 & 64 and various levels of Ubuntu.
After 6 long days of trying I have made not one step forward in allowing file/printer sharing. The Windows machines are all running Comodo Internet Security, on one of which I have created my idea of a set of rules to allow file/print sharing. The Windows XP machine, with a user created set of firewall rules, can see no computers on the network (using My Network Places), aside from itself and the shares created on it.It cannot see the computers which are not in the workgroup.
The most common error message this computer generates is 'network path not found'. A win 7 32 bit computer, in the workgroup, can see all other computers that are in the workgroup, including itself, twice. It cannot access any shares on the Linux computers. It is able to access shares on the Windows XP computer.ufw Firewall is installed and enabled on one Linux machine and has a vaguely similar set of file/print sharing rules. That machine can see nothing at the Network place.A couple of hours ago it could see the machines that are NOT in my workgroup but could not see the machines that are!
Another linux computer can see the two workgroups (named and default) within the windows network, but cannot browse either workgroup. The most common error message from sharing attempts with the Linux machines is 'unable to mount location. Failed to retrieve share list from server'.Right now I am reduced to transferring USB sticks between adjacent computers....
After reading posts in this forum and others, and reviewing MSFT tech docs, I'm still not able to establish file sharing between the wired PC and the wireless-connected laptop. Maybe I'm working under some stupid assumptions. I am able to ping each computer by their IP address - I can ping the laptop from the desktop, and vice versa. The desktop shows the Basecomputer under network places, but on the laptop, nothing at all shows up under network places. Laptop missing something?
The details:
a) Connecting to internet via DSL, Qwest ISP, Actiontec PK5000 Advanced Networking Network Router. Advanced Networking router, to me, means that home networking shouldn't require any other hardware. Stupid assumption?
b) Desktop PC is connected to the modem/router via ethernet cable
c) Laptop is connected to the modem/router via wireless, (Dell Wireless WLAN 1350 WLAN Mini PCI Card). Assocation tab of the wireless properties gives the network authentication/data encryption types as Open/WEP.
d) Some settings of the modem, viewed via the browser (192.168.0.x)
- Wireless security type: WPA
- MAC authentication Enabled
- Firewall security level: Off (NAT only)
e) Desktop PC is Windows XP Home Edition, SP 3
f) Laptop is Windows XP Professional Version 2002, SP3
g) Both are running Windows Firewall; File and Printer Sharing is checked for both, under the Exceptions tabl
h) I ran the Network setup wizard for both, using same Workgroup name, called HOME. Desktop is called BASECOMPUTER, and Laptop is called LAPTOP. No errors in the setup. On the desktop PC, under Windows Explorer, Network Places -> Entire Network, I can see a 'Home' network under a Microsoft Windows Network icon, with the Basecomputer listed. However, LAPTOP is not listed. This is after a couple of restarts.
i) ipconfig and nbtstat ouput
From the desktop:
