Jan 15, 2013I am facing a very big problem with site to site vpn on cisco 2900 ios.i configured the vpn and when i ping from router itself to destination ip with source as lan interface , VPN works, no problem.but when i connect any computer directly to router's lan interface to initiate traffic , it doesnot work at all. and on computer's lan i see yeloow sign.
mtu is 1500, speed is auto (i tried chaging also) , duplex is auto ( i tried changing also) , thoguh firewall on pc should not affect but still i disabled it.since their is no problem with vpn config as vpn comes up when i initiate ping from router itself but i dont know why it is not working from lan.do we need any inspect icmp on this router also ? or any policy modification to pass traffic across the interfac on router is required ?
i was useinf c2900k9-15.0(M4).bin and i upgraded it to 15.3 which is lated to get reed of any bug .lastly , i connected two laptops directly to router's gi0/0, g0/1 interface to ping from one laptop to another but this also did not work.

Sep 27, 2012I have 3 4400 WLC's that implemented at 1 main site within a mobility group. I am looking at implementing wired guest authentication with a splash page for username and password access. I have followed the documents and suggestions about how to configure it. I created a layer 2 vlan (700) and then created a VLAN (151) that wired guests will get an IP address from. I then configured a WLAN with the ingress interface being VLAN 700 and the egress interface being VLAN 151.
All of my controllers are running code 7.0.116.0. When I go to do a test scenario with a wired client, I have the switchport setup for VLAN 151, which they get an IP address from, but when they try to go to the Internet, they don't get the splash page. Why I am not getting a splash page or even if this scenario is possible?

Jan 9, 2011I had an unusual circumstance come up on an older PIX 525 (6.3(5))
On a recent remote site visit we made a connection to our main office using ver 4.9 of the Cisco VPN Client for OS X. While we were working on a server, the macbook went to sleep shutting down the network interface the VPN Client was using.
From that point forward we were unable establish any layer 3 connectivity to the LAN in out main office using that PIX as a VPN head end. Any connections that were attempted to that firewall would complete and be assigned a client IP from the correct pool but without access to the LAN on the inside interface.
We tested this from multiple external locations using multiple systems, cleared SA's and even debugged IKE and IPSEC using an alternate connection method. There were no errors reported on the firewall but there was also no connectivity.

The client did not match the firewall policy configured on the central site VPN device. Cisco Systems Integrated Client Firewall should be enabled or installed on your computer.
The backend infrastructure used is a Cisco VPN 3000 Concentrator which has a Cisco PIX 525 Firewall.When the Firewall is disabled, the connection is made with no errors. But obviously, this is not good practice.The problem seems to lie with the Local Client Firewall?
