View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using a couple cisco sg300 28P switches along with a sonciwall firewall/router. The sonicwall was already in place and working so they didnt want to replace it. I understand how to configure the vlan on the sonicwall, but could use some info on the cisco. I would basically like to create 3 vlans, 1 default for management, 2 for pc's on lan, and 3 for the cisco spa504g phones/'voip. Would i just go into the vlan managment, configure the 2 new vlans and give them two id's? These offices have one network drop, so the phones and pc's will be sharing the switch ports, however the phones have a setting to configure the vlan id so they know which one theyre on. Is there anything i need to do after that? I want to make sure that vlan 3 has the highest priority becuase its voice, is there some qos configurations i need to make on that switch as well? Also, the port that links the two cisco swtiches together, does that need to be set as "trunk" port? I understand what vlans are, but its just the first time ive run into these cisco models. .
View 0 Replies View RelatedI'm playing with an SF300-24P switch and want to connect an IP Phone. I'm more familar with IOS syntax than the SF300 GUI.
How would I replicate the following in the SF300:
Switch(config)#int fa0/1
Switch(config-if)# switchport mode access
Switch(config-if)# switchport access vlan 15
Switch(Config-if)# switchport voice vlan 5
Not sure if setting the port to an ACCESS port on VLAN 15 (i.e. 15UP) and having the Voice VLAN set to 5 is correct.
Or should the port be set to General or Trunk with 15 as the untagged VLAN and 5 as the tagged voice VLAN (i.e. 15UP, 5T)?
I have Linksys SPS224. I've learnt how to change some parameters through SNMP. But this changes are applying to running-config, and, when switch reboots, all loose.
How can I save this changed running-config to startup-config through SNMP?
Is this known bug that you cannot backup (export) full running or startup config from this switch? Will this be fixed in next firmware? (btw, still no new firmware with CDP support for this script altough sales literature mentions that it should have already been available...)Switch does let you backup configuration as text file (which looks similar to normal IOS config syntax), but it doesn't contain all settings so the file is pretty much useless to restoring the config to another switch. At least following settings are missing from the file:
- management interface config (including DNS settings)
- passwords
- remote syslog server config
- SNTP server config
- IGMP config
- LLDP config

I have two 4506 switches in my organization. Recently the office was relocated and when both the switches were booted they ignored the startup config. The config-reg was set to 0x2101. No boot system command was configured. So I changed the config-reg of SW1 to 0x2102 and gave boot system command as stated below. When reloaded the switch booted to ROMMON and I had to manually boot the IOS.I want them to boot normally with IOS.Config of SW2 is not changed since relocation. View 12 Replies View Related I have a scenario where 15 c500 switches and 5 2960 8 port switch connected to 4507R core switch. There are 10 dhcp pools created on the 4507.
Eg: ip dhcp pool XXXX
network xxxx.xxxxxxx
default-router x.x.x.x
Now the default router is directed to vlans created on the switch i.e vlan 101, 102, 103 and so on. Now the remaining switches connected are configured to be in the same vlan. So the systems connected to the edge switches will get the DHCP ip automatically, Now my problem is after sometime (may be 2 or 3 hrs) all the edge switches are losing configuration automatically even though it's not restarted, even after saving the config on to nvram, everytime I connect the console and check all the saved config is lost?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a client that just got a second public IP (x.x.x.252) for a new program. I've setup that second IP on their UC540 on the public-facing port and it's accessible all day long from the outside, no problem. The problem comes in where users from within the LAN can't see the new public IP at all; however, they CAN get to the original public IP x.x.x.250. I've looked at the rules every which way and can't see anything that either 1) only allows LAN traffic to get to the original public IP, or 2) a NAT rule that only allows the same thing.
[Disclaimer: I just inherited this client and their setup, so other than me adding the IP and opening ports to it, I didn't program it.]
Here is the port configuration:
!
interface FastEthernet0/0
description $FW_OUTSIDE$
ip address 63.234.195.252 255.255.255.248 secondary
ip address 63.234.195.250 255.255.255.248
ip access-group 106 in
no ip redirects
no ip (code )
I can't figure out why .250 is internally-accessible, but .252 isn't. .252 is in the routing table as a directly-connected address, but I also added ip route 63.234.195.252 255.255.255.255 FastEthernet0/0 to the routing table and it still won't go. Everything is controlled by the UC540: The internal servers do not run DNS or DHCP or even a domain. There are no NAT outside rules.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have a new deployment where we have 5 total 7921G wifi phones connected via 2 AP541n access points, one connected to a ESW520p switch and then to the UC540 and the other connected directly to the UC540. The wifi phones are intermittently giving no audio when calling each other, however, calls to the PSTN consistently do have 2 way audio. Is this a security issue perhaps? We are running the latest CCA software pack as this is a brand new deployment, also the AP's were upgraded to the latest firmware.
View 14 Replies View RelatedWe are setting up a new phone system using the UC540 with a VPN connection between 2 buildings using 2 Cisco ASA 5505's at either end.The problem I am having is getting the phones at the remote site to connect to the UC540 at the main site.
Phones/Computers (10.0.1.0/24) -- ASA -------------VPN Tunnel------------- ASA -- UC540 -----------Data Vlan1 (10.0.0.0/24)
|------Voice Vlan100 (10.1.1.0/24)
What i am told by UC500 support is that the phones at the remote site will connect if they have connectivity to the TFTP subnet on the UC540, which is 10.1.10.0/30 I added the static route on the ASA and I can ping the 10.1.10.1 TFTP server on the UC540 from the ASA, but not for any other device on the 10.0.0.0/24 network, such as the DC. I added the static route there and was able to ping, so something in the ASA seems to be preventing it.
I also can't seem to get the ASA at the remote site to ping 10.1.10.1. I've tried adding the static route there in hopes it would forward it through the VPN tunnel.
I'm trying to setup an ASA and a UC540 side by side, to utilize the ASA for data networking and the UC540 for voice. This 'should' work fine, I just seem to be having an issue where the ASA seems to be blocking traffic from the voice network as it passes through. So here is the LAN setup:ASA: 1.1.1.1UC540: 1.1.1.2The UC has a voice vlan 10.1.1.1/24 and a service module at 10.1.10.1/30My PC uses the ASA as its default gateway, 1.1.1.1The ASA then has static routes to the UC networksRoute 10.1.1.1/24 1.1.1.2Route 10.1.10.1/30 1.1.1.2Ping from PC to the UC networks works fine. However, ping from the UC networks to PC fails. ASA logs show traffic being denied due to not having an established connection or something. My guess is that the traffic is being blocked because the egress and ingress paths are different? Traffic from the PC goes to the ASA, then gets routed to the UC and it works. However in the other direction, traffic from the UC is going directly to the PC and bypassing the ASA, because its a directly connected network and doesn't have to route through the ASA to get to the PC. The reply traffic from the PC DOES go through the ASA following its route table, thus the issue of the ASA not seeing the established connection?Same-security inter and intra interface is enabled. So I think I see the issue, I just don't know how to fix it. Is there something I can configure on the ASA to allow for this? My only other option would be to configure a /30 on a new vlan to handle the routing between the UC and ASA or something, but that seems like its going to make this simple setup way too complicated with extra networks, vlans, trunks, etc.I am running ASA version 8.4.5?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running into and interesting issue concerning a twice NAT config.
We have a remote site that needs to connect to a server cluster on our end. Using ASDM I have created a NAT rule that uses PAT to map our server addresses to a single IP (this is due to constraints placed on us by the remote site). This in and of itself shouldn't be a problem. The issue is that the VPN tunnel won't come up unless I also map an address to the remote site's sever.
Example:
Appliance: ASA 5510
ASA Version: 8.4(2)
ASDM Version: 6.4(5)
Original Packet:
Source Interface: inside
Destination Interface: outside
Source Address: Server_Cluster
Destination Address: Remote_Server
Service: any
Translated Packet:
Source NAT Type: Dynamic PAT (Hide)
Source Address: Mapped_Server_Cluster_Address
Destination Address: Mapped_Remote_Server_Address
Service: -- Original --
Within the Translated Packet section, if I set Destination Address to the actual remote server address nothing happens when I attempt to bring up the tunnel. However, if I map an address to the remote server, the tunnel begins to come up and then fails during phase two (as the mapped address doesn't match the addressing that has been defined in the remote end's connection profile).
Initially I thought the issue may be due to an IP addressing overlap since both sites are running similar numbers, but the default route statement on our ASA, should contend with this issue. Also, each time I change the NAT rule, I change the connection profile to match those changes.
So, ultimately, what I wish to accomplish is to allow connectivity between my site and the remote site without having to map another address to their remote server. How may I do this?

We have two offices in the US and one in Mexico. Our site in Mexico connects to our headquarters in the US over an AVPN/ MPLS circuit .Mexico has a separate Internet connection through TelMex. There is an ASA 5510 at headquarters and an ASA 5505 in Mexico. We have a fail over VPN set up in the ASAs for times when the MPLS circuit goes down. All Internet traffic in Mexico is supposed to be routed to the TelMex connection. All company traffic is supposed to be routed to the Cisco router. ASA is supposed to be last resort route. We have a fail over VPN set up in the ASAs for times when the MPLS circuit goes down. (Or at least we did until I had someone work on the configuration) Everything had been working fine for the last 4 years.
Yesterday when the MPLS went down, so did their Internet connection. I realized the Internet traffic is now coming through the MPLs circuit to head quarters and out our ASA. Obviously there is a problem with the configuration. I do not have enough experience to figure this out. I have attached the configs and the routes for both the ASA and the router.
