I have a got a requirement where a 24 Port Switch should have 4 SFP's and all 4 should be used at a time, So I've chosen " WS-C2960S-24TS-L"
The transeiver should be GLC-LH-SM, so kindly let me no whether I would be able to use all 4 ports at a time or not.
I have configured about 20 of these switches now, and notice in the port listings a TE1/1//1 TE1/1/2 and GI1/1/1 GI1/1/2 uplink port. There are only two uplink SFP+ ports. I now have a reason to install with a 1Gb uplink to the Core. I am using a GLC-LH module at each end. I did configure the TE1/1/1 port for the uplink. Does not work though..Do I need to configure the two GI1/1/1 and 1/1/2 ports for uplink, remove the TE configuration for the uplink to work? Using the UNIVERSAL code with a LANBase license.

I have a Cisco WS-C2960S-48TD-L with 12.2(55)SE2.This is a standalone switch, not in stack, and with no order it reboots itself looking for a new master election. On logging i have nothing, but connected with console cable i see the following after 2 minutes of not showing anything:

After searching online i have no seeing nothing about disable the feature of the stack so i configure the priority for the "switch 1" to 15 and configure it the switches 2, 3 and 4 to no provision, although this switches don´t exist:

I want to connect WS-C2960S-48TD-L switch to WS-X6708-10G-3CXL module in Cisco WS-C6503-E switch. WS-X6708-10G-3CXL is C6K 8 port 10 Gigabit Ethernet module with DFC3CXL which requires X2 module. on the otherhand, WS-C2960S-48TD-L requires SFP+. Now is it possible to interconnect these two switch interfaces if I use LIU in between. or does WS-X6708-10G-3CXL module supports CVR-X2-SFP+ to use SFP+ transceivers.

I understand the differences between the IPBASE and IPSERVICES ios but am not quite clear as to how you can tell which ios images will work on which Cisco switch model platforms, other than the fact that some switches are designed only to run the IPBASE images and others have advanced hardware to run the advanced images. For instance, if I have a 3750-24TS-E with an IPBASE ios on it, can I load an IPSERVICES ios that came from say a 3750G-24TS-E1U? whether the ios on one platform can be transferred to another?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently split the voice vlan (10) from the data network (1), and am wondering why my catalysts and router do not require an interface Vlan10 statement. In the past I used OpenBSD boxes to do the routing, and I first needed to configure vlan 10 on the interface before I could get inter-vlan communication to work. With these Cisco devices it works, and I am wondering if it is because of VTP, for the fact that the ports maybe just pass all traffic, or is there some other explanation? Below is the setup, and firmware is up-to-date on all of the devices.
When I plug a phone into the POE SGE, the phone turns on, obtains an address on the proper subnet, and conversations are clear (whereas without the ip nat inside on the new subnet the calls had a lot of static). Possibly the reason that it works is because the phones properly create the tcp/ip packet, and it hops over the trunks and creates the states so that traffic routes back properly. I will install wireshark to see exactly what is going on, but is there a simple explanation that I am overlooking?

Workaround to enable users to access network was to direct the static routes to the physical IP of one router. Is there a known incompatibility between Enterasys with Cisco HSRP?

When PC with OS Windows 7 begins to work in corporate network, it sees "coflict ip addresses" and doesn't work with network. I've used wireshark and seen, when the PC send arp request a SW1 always send arp reply (see attached file). I think problem with command "ip sla responder", but I haven't searched information about it and I want understand this is bug or normal functioning.

My ASA runs SMR, has an igmp forward interface outside command on the inside and has a trunk port to the 3560e (V lans 32 & 48).PC2 is a test pc on the 3560e on vlan32. 3825 is my ISPs router on vlan32.
- if i try to access the stream from PC2 it works.
- if i try to access the stream from PC1, i see the igmp join leave my ASA onto the 3560E (i've captured on the 3560e's link to the ASA).
I've also captured on the ASA and i can see the igmp packet leave the outside interface but the join doesn't reach the 3825 (i've captured on the 3560e port facing the router and there is no join being forwarded).the switch is running in layer 2, 12.2(35r)SE1.

We have two switches WS-C2960S-24TS-L running in stack with running IOS c2960s-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE3.We have connected two checkpoint devices on Gi1/0/24 and Gi2/0/24 with a simple configuration:

On the devices log we get the following message:

The mac-address 0000.0000.fe21 is not found on any checkpoint interface. "Show mac-address int gi1/0/24 or gi2/0/24" does not show the correct mac-address of the checkpoint interface connected to the port, but instead shows 0000.0000.fe21.Is there a bug in the IOS, something wrong with the switch config or does it have something to do with the checkpoint config?
I have a customer with a stack of two switches C2960S-24TS-L that are running 12.2(58)SE2 universal K9, we see that the CPU load increase over time, to 95% and stays there reload solves the problem.the process that akes a lot of CPU is also the SNMP ENGINE, I see that it is running 30 minutes on 95% and then 10 minutes on 35%, this is the only stack were we see this problem. Is there also a SNMP bug in this version ?
