Cisco WAN :: 2911 - 3 Internet Connections On Router
Apr 24, 2012
We are having 3 internet connections coming in to one of our customer's main offices for redundancy and etc. I would like to replace the 3 routers with a one for easier support and management. One of the connections is an ADSL and the other 2 are leased lines so they terminate with an RJ45 connection.
Would something like a Cisco 2911 + HWIC ADSL card be sufficient enough or would you recommend something else?
We are about to install a cisco 2911 router to replace a linux based router.
The Cisco will have 5 gig ports, 4 ports connected to DSL modems each modem connected to a different ISP, and the last port connected to a Cisco LAN switch.
802.1q will be used on the internal router port to split the LAN segments up into VLAN's as the building contains lots of different businesses.
Each customer in the building has there own servers and set of public IP addresses assigned e.g
Customer A - ISP 1 uses 81.34.65.78 NAT'd to 10.0.0.1 Vlan 5 port 25 (SMTP) Customer B - ISP 2 uses 217.23.67.87 NAT'd to 192.168.1.1 Vlan 6 port 25 (SMTP)
and so on
The outbound traffic also needs to go out of the correct DSL line which ever has been assigned to that customer.
Am i right in thinking the only way to do this will be to use "Route Maps" ??
(IP addresses above are made up, or at least not ours)
I have been looking for the command to view all concurrent active connections or sessions on our Cisco 2911. I want to see what the total connections or sessions are at peak times throughout the day.
I have 2 2911 routers that will be connected via fiber with an ethernet Gig handoff to each router. Each router will then be connected to local networks on a second ethernet interface on the router. I have always connected routers via serial connections so this is new to me. Outside of the usual ethernet interface addressing configuration, is there anything else that would need to be configured on the 2 routers?
We have a Cisco 2911 Router and have configured via BT Infinity Broadband for out going internet access etc. Are there any incoming restrictions ACL settings etc. that will stop us using for ISA VPN, Exchange connections, Intranet, Sharepoint etc. We have reserved 13 Static IP Addresses from the ISP.
I have a 2911 router where I was configuring the device to allow remote desktops connections. Everything is working properly, but for some reason my ACL has disappeared.
I have a problem with my internet speed when i use cisco router 2911, the speed is very low. when use the ADSL router of my ISP ( the router is CNET), i don't have probleme. all test that i have do is without my lan juste 1 computer connected to routers.
I have HWICADSL card Router 2911 withe ios 15. My real speed is 8Mo.
I have 881 router and it has 1 WAN port and 4 Fa ports. I want to know if it's possible to have 2 internet connections on that router? I found an interesting article about the load-balancing for two isp connections: [URL].
One of our client has cisco 861 router and they have two internet connections from two different ISPs can we use them together as load balancing and as redundancy, As cisco 861 router has only one WAN port?how we can do that ?
We have a network, with a MAC filter for the internet acces. Every body can just have one MAC adress entry on their name for internet acces . My idea was to give the MAC adress of another router(that i can control), plug the LAN cable in the WAN of the second router, and then connect more computers to that router. Would that enable Internet acces for all the computers behind the 2 router?would it work if i make one computer with an extra network card, register that computers MAC adress and forward internet by the second network card to a router or other computer?
I have a WRT110 that let's a wired connection through to the internet but none of the wireless connections. I'm connect to a new Motorola DSL modem provided by AT&T. (Lightening killed the last one) My wireless stuff can talk to each other but can't access the internet.
I have configured my CIsco 2911 router and there seems to be something wrong with my configuration regarding subinterface 0/0.102 The hosts on this subnetwork cant access the Internet and i cant spot the error.
Here is my running config on this matter.
class-map type inspect match-any LAN_TO_WAN match access-group name LAN_TO_WAN class-map type inspect match-any WAN_TO_LAN match access-group name WAN_TO_LAN class-map type inspect match-any GRE_TO_WAN match access-group name GRE_TO_WAN class-map type inspect match-any WAN_TO_GRE
I'm using a 2911 as our Public Internet Edge Router. I have 2 public sub net blocks from Sprint, we are in the process of migrating. What i need to do is NAT any source address from the Internet from an address on one of our public blocks to the other.
Example:
Source Address 11.10.10.10 ==> Destination 64.165.123.10 (nat this to 64.165.54.10) inbound.
So if from the internet tries to hit 64.165.123.10 we want to nat that to 64.165.54.10 both of which sit on our public space.
I am having one router CISCO2911/K9 (Cisco 2911 w/3 GE,4 EHWIC,2 DSP,1 SM,256MB CF,512MB DRAM,IPB). But now my management asking me to upgrade this router as CISCO2911-SEC/K9.
Need to Have both ISP to access internet/servers configure a Cisco 2911 router, It has two ISP one as primary 216.140.140.0, and secondary for backup as 216.150.150.0. I need to be able to access both the ISP's using the same interface Gi0/1. Since we have servers that have to have specific IP both when accessed and when accessing the internet so I used static Nat for the servers and Dynamic for all others. I did the following configuration but it does not work as i want it, if i unplug the Primary ISP from the unmanaged switch the secondary cant access the Internet or network. The secondary only works when the primary and secondary are both connected and have an equal cost Administrative distance, hence it is not available when the primary is down . Even though I can use a sub-interface instead of a secondary Ip address (which worked when I used it) I need to use the same interface using a unmanaged switch to which the outside interface of the router is connected and the two ISP's. Below is my configuration.
interface GigabitEthernet0/0 ip address 10.0.0.254 255.255.255.0 ip nat inside
Have multiple Catalyst 2960S switches, Cisco 2911 router and ASA 5510 firewall.
On the router have subinterfaces created for the VLAN's Int FA0.0/41 for wirless VLAN setup with IP 10.10.41.100 Int FA0.0/60 for new Voice VLAN setup with IP 10.10.60.100 Internal network is 10.10.10.0/24 and LAN IP of router is 10.10.10.100 Have default route setup to push traffic from the router to the firewall ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.10.10.251
On the firewall have added the new VLAN 10 (10.10.60.0) to the network object-group Have configured route inside command route 10.10.60.0 255.255.255.0 10.10.10.100 1 Have also added the NAT command nat (inside) 1 10.10.60.0 255.255.255.0
On the 2960 I have my laptop connected to port 45 and I have it configured as follows switchport mode access switchport access vlan 10
I assign my computer a static IP address of 10.10.60.84/255.255.255.0/10.10.60.100 with 10.10.10.11 as DNS server. When I do this, I can ping anything on the 10.10.60.0 network, I can ping anythign on the LAN 10.10.10.0 network. I am able to connect MSN messenger, I am able to do NSLOOKUP and get outside IP addresses to resolve. I am unable to browse the Internet though. I am not sure where the problem is at though. It doesn't make sense to me, as it is setup the same way as VLAN 41 which is the wireless network, and when users connect to that, they get out to the Internet with no issues.
I couldn't access internet with route specified i know the problem with the route or nat.i have 2911 router [code]
i could ping from lan Ip's to ISP1 and ISP2 gateway IPS. but when i ping to any site llike example gmail.com packet s not moving out to the ISP1 or ISP2 interfaces. [code]
We need to give differentiated internet access to three VLANs. Each one of this VLANs is used for totally different purposes, so traffic between the VLANs is not allowed. Each VLAN has its own internet access provided for the data center using one fast ethernet connection.
We're thinking about using cisco 2911 for Internet access, VPN and firewall. I suppose that best option for VLANs is using Catalyst 2960S or a swithing module for the 2911, but these two options are too expensive for us. We're thinking about using swtiches from the SB series (maybe a SG-200).
We're totaly newbies to VLANs so we have many doubts. This are our questions:
1) The 2911 has three on board ethernet interfaces; we have three VLANs and three internet connections, so we need to use HWICs to get three more ethernet ports. That's right? 2) We need three HWICs or there is some kind of HWIC with more that one ethernet interface? 3) The routing solution is to assign static routes in the 2911 for each interface connected to a VLAN through a 2911's interface connected to internet? 4) Simply connecting three different router interfaces with three different switch ports, each one of them assigned to one of the three different VLAN, are we going to get internet access for all devices in those VLANs? or do we need to configure something else like trunking, VSIs...? 5) Can we achieve our goals using the SG-200 switch? 6) We have the chance to use older routers, is this possible? We're specially interested in knowing if a 1841 or a 2801 router could be used for this setup. 7) This is not a production environment so we can use refurbished equipment.
my neibour has kindly said i can use her internet connection. she has a wireless router. i have my own internet, but need more speed. can i use both internet connections by connecting my router to hers wirelessly?
Trying to connect to the internet using my gateway laptop. Using a belkin G. wired connection I get: "Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration wireless connection I get: "Wireless Network Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configurationMy desktop which is connected by ethernet cable works fine and my sisters laptop using wireless is able to connect as well. I'm assuming settings on my laptop are wrong.I'm running win7 and haven't had issues until lately. drivers are up to date.
i have 30 pcs hooked up under one network. all 30 sharing 1 internet connection. 10 of those are put in a separate room for certain reasons. but those 10 like to download and cause lag to the other 20 pcs. my plan is to keep the 30 pcs under 1 network but ill add another internet connection exclusively for the 10pcs. and the original internet connection exclusively for the 20 pcs. how can i do that? reason why i need all 30 in the same network is cause they all use softwares needed to be connected to each other locally.
I'd like to use 2 internet connections at the same time.Assuming there are two internet networks.Network A and Network B (both are either wireless OR one is wireless and one is wired OR both are wireless). So, now I want to use BOTH internet connections simultaneously. However, both connections will still be separate and not combined:If I had to transfer big files, then I could do this on network A.Now, I want to use network B for other "normal" internet use so that the transfer of files in network A gets the maximum speed since there is no interference with anything else.I have to let the computer know somehow that there are two connections used simultaneously. I also have to setup what programs use what connection. E.g., IE uses network a and Firefox uses network b, program "x" also uses network b, etc.I would use two network card/USB Wifi Adapers so that each network card/wifi adapter can connect to one network.how do you realize that without setting a Virtual Machine up?
I have a two broadband (Indian standards) connections that I want to use together. One is a 1mbps and the other is a 512kbps. The config that I have is below.
When I boot up my computer, I have two internet connections, one Home and one Public. I can't access the internet while they're both active. The only way to get online is to disable and re-enable the wireless adapter.
I have 2 internet connections, 1 wifi and another lan. Can I assign them to different browsers to perform different downloads at the same time to increase my download speed. Are there any softwares to manage 2 connections for such.
One is the regular from the phone line internet and the other is a wireless subscription I access via dongle. Is it possible to connect to the internet on both subscriptions and then use one for specific applications and the other solely for games?I want to be able to use the more stable direct connection for games and be able to use the 2nd subscription to download via torrent.. I have another computer but it is company owned and torrent is forbidden.
will the use of mobile wireless internet connection and broadband inet connection simultaneously can be used to download softwares or video files faster than these two used seperately?
i'm trying to setup multiple internet connections however the ISP i am using doesnt allow the use of NAT. DHCP and uses the registered mac address as a way to authenticate the account. To compensate for no NAT i use a web proxy feature on my router.[CODE]
