View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 2911 router hanging/freezing at random times, could work fine for a week then crash, or sometimes, could only go a few hours, completely random with timing. The onyl fix is to manually pull the power and reinsert. When this happens, all services/access stop working, including nothing on console access. This was on 15.2.1.T1 which im aware, has a few bugs, so i upgraded to 15.2.1.T2.The issue continued, so I swapped out the 2911 with a brand new one. The issue is still present.
One interesting thing, is when the router crashes/freezes, all lights appear to remain on working as usual, but when i unplug any of the ethernet links, the lights still continue to remain flashing and on for the ethernet LEDs, even once i have fully removed the cat6 cable.
I have a Cisco 1921 to replace our current router which is constantly freezing. We have a couple inside servers, one is a web server and application server which needs to be RDP'd to by a couple of clients outside of our network. I cannot get this to work no matter what. I know it's not the server's setup as when I plug the network back into the old router, it works just fine.
All clients have access to the internet, and I can successfully ping/resolve hosts from both the router and a client computer connected. I cannot, however, rdp using neither our public IP, nor our hostname. The hostname does resolve to our ISP assigned IP, but the server cannot be contacted, leading me to belive this is a NAT issue. I have been looking for a new router as my current one has packed in. I am mostly interested in a router with a fast and stable wifi and high throughput which can manage a high amount of maximum simultaneous connections. The linksys e4200 seems perfect and very well reviewed.I am currently on adsl, no cable in area, so i would need one to have an adsl modem. Is there a version with a modem? Or will i need to look around for another?
I am mainly interested in throuput and the reviews and comparison sites sugest that linksys seems perfect midway between max simultaneous connections and price. Any comparison website that has adsl routers. The information am looking for on that's between £60 and £160 with high amount of ram, high throuput for Maximum Simultaneous Connections, similar to link text
My Wi-Fi keeps on freezing and I have to unplug it all the time. I have the e1200

The one or two led lights stops flashing and no device can connect to the router or asses internet. Another issue is that sometimes i cant connect any device through wifi (tried with android phone and ipod) and and but works perfectly on my pc. If i restart my router is works perfectly but after 1 min-3 hours sames problem happens either router freezes or cant connect though wifi
When i stream higher resolution videos to my TV or PC, from the usb stick attached to my router(linksys EA4500). The videos freeze, then playes again, then freeze, etc. I have no problem with lower res. videos or music

But when we try to use an HTTPS site, clicking on that site just hangs forever. Debugs show the connection is making it, and the servers are getting the connections...
The destination servers are using self-signed certs, as well as the router. They are not requiring client certs.
I have DSL line that gives 7mb down and 768k up. I have 2 users running win7 RDP session and after a few hours the session is unusable its so slow and then eventually it hangs . don't know where to start.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that when using the range command to configure multiple interfaces on a 3750 the SSH session oftens hangs. It's seems the more interfaces in the range command the more often it hangs. I have a feeling it also spikes up the CPU. Doesn't seem to be related to a specific version of code.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWas building a small network in Cisco Packet Tracer and ran in to an issue. I have 4 routers running OSPF, and off one of the routers I have 5 3560 Multilayer switches. The router that the switches hang off of, I have a sub-interface with dot1q encapsulation, set for vlan 10 and an IP Address. 10.14.16.1/24. The switches have interface vlan 10 configures, and have IPs in the same subnet. From that router, I can ping/telnet to all the switches without issue. My problem arises when I try and reach those switches from any other router. OSPF is set to redistribute static and connected subnets. The routing table is populated correctly on all the routers. When I ping and trace the packet, it looks like it makes it all the way to the respective switch, but the packet never makes it back. I've played with the default route on the switches to no avail. Am I trying to implement this incorrectly, or am I just missing something?

I am having issue with a RV082 with firmware:
v4.1.0.02-tm (Sep 16 2011 18:40:48)
On setup 1 I have;Using 2 WAN, 1 from fiber 5mbps symetric fixed public IP and other is DSL private dynamic dhcp address 3mbps/900kbps
On setup 2 i have:Using 1 WAN, from fiber 5mbps symetric fixed public ip Both router have exact same firewall configuration, subnet and port forwarding and we have the seccont backup DSL coming in a few day for setup 2.on both setup, the RV082 is the main internet gateway/firewall for a set of server...
Setup 1 work perfectly and been online for 2 week (since install) without issue
Setup 2 worked for 2 day then had to reboot, then work for few days then need reboot, now it look like it need to be rebooted every day. the internet just stop working and a simple reboot does the trick... also, when that happen I can stil remote in server that have port forwarded in the router or connect to router management port, but internet on the server is down... I tried opendns and google dns on both WAN connection and still no luck.I have followed instruction on various support forum;
-more reliable dns server
-lower MTU
-failover vs load balance
-disabling SPI and DoS protection
at this point I'm about to swap both router to see if it not a defective hardware or disconnect DSL WAN on setup 1 to see if its more stable but the whole point of installing this router was for Internet redundancy which so far dosent work as expected.
I encountered an issue while trying to boot Catalys WS-C4948-S switch. I power on the switch and I'm able to see the boot messages thourgh serial console cable. But it gets stuck at line "Image text-base: 0x1000000, data-base: ..... ". Also I can enter into rommon mode. I tried to use different kinds of IOS images, tried to boot from tftp but with no luck, the issue is the same.
There are no erros on the screen, it just gets stuck when it enters into IOS, so I don't see the IOS prompt.
We have Cisco 4507-R installed at customer site which got hang twice and became normal after getting booted.I have analyzed show tech-support for this switch after reboting but not found relevant logs for hang issue,

View 3 Replies View RelatedOne of the companies I work for uses a DIR 655 router. I'm having some trouble using FTP there.Initially the problem was that FTP software would hang or give errors when trying to change directories on the remote server. This problem went away when I switched from passive FTP to Active FTP.Now using Active FTP, the files appear to be uploaded with no problem. However, on closer inspection, the uploaded file has 0 bytes on the remote server.
We are uploading from a Windows 7 machine and uploading to our Web Hosting Company's Windows Server. I've actually written the one piece of software that is showing this problem but it uses a widely known open-source FTP library written in .NET. I've never encountered either of these problems with my software until I encountered the DIR-655.The other FTP software client I've tried is FileZilla. It has the same problem, 0 bytes files when using Active FTP.
One solution I've seen on DSLReports was to disable the Stateful Packet Inspection part of the firewall (known as SPI). This is really not a good solution for two reasons. Number one, I do not have access to the router's firmware/ configuration. Number 2, the company has a DIR-655 because they want the additional security. If we're going to disable SPI it just defeats one of the major purposes of owning the DIR-655.
I have four 24-port BayStack switches connected to in a series, that have been freezing up over the past year (when I look at the front of the switches all connected ports are lit and and activity lights are not blinking but solid). I usually find the switches this way when someone at the church/school tell me that internet is down and the solution is to cycle the power on all switches. This has been happening more and more lately and I was wondering if anyone could, off the top of their head, possit a guess as to what is happening. Now these are configurable switches that I have not configured; I just bought them off of EBay and put them in line - they gave us years of trouble free service. My guess is that the switches are getting caught up in a loop and thus freezing them. My assumption is that the switches have STP running by default and maybe the STP stopped working. I have purchased 2 Cisco WS-C2948G-GE-TX to replace the BayStack switches, as our internet speed will be going over to Google Fibre in the next 2 months.

View 3 Replies View Relatedwhy our PBX system would freeze up the phones. There is no real reason why this happens. We have the PBX on its own circuit board, so its not sharing any power, we only have about 200 phones on the system, so that is not the issues. Its properly cooled. It just seems to happen that our phones freeze, and when they start freezing it seems to happen in pairs.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have just got our daughter a brand new Dell laptop for her birthday, it is fine apart from she cant get into half the websites she wants to. On these websites internet explorer just hangs.
Examples of hanging websites are:Argos, Travel Republic, Easy Jet, Vue Cinemas, Bin weevils, National Rail, Expedia, Ebookers
The laptop has Windows 7 and Internet Exolorer 9.I suspect it is something to do with the dreaded Flash but the laptop has Adobe Shockwave Flash Object enabled and any attempt to download Adobe Flash Player results in a 12% timeout download (always 12%)
Funnily enough I have an old Dimension 5000 which behaves in exactly the same way including the 12% download but I expected a brand new laptop to work..Is this a known bug with Dell products ie. you cant access half the websites on the internet without a load of grief ?
we have an hp laser printer 2055dn that kept on getting an error "49 err 6a2023e" whenever we plug in an ethernet cable (the ethernet light flashes like crazy as soon as we plug it in)
