Cisco WAN :: 881 Router Config And Nat With Public IP

I have a task for a config I have not done before. I'm replacing an older 831 and PIX with a Cisco 881 router with Firewall feature set. The router receives its public IP address dynamically and there is a static public IP range also assigned with a couple of NAT statements on the PIX for a few public IP's.I'm ok with the core router config but the range is where I'm a little stuck. Current setup is as follows
Internet ---------- Router( Public intf Dynamic IP----internal intf Range IP)Router-------------PIX (outside intf Range IP---------Inside intf private net)Pix-------
As per the aboive the PIX had a public IP address from the range on the outside interface with a default route to the Router inside interface which uses a public range addres.
With my proposed config I've setup the outside interface as dynamic and just created my nat statements for the Range IP's. I believe I'm correct that I do not need to actually have a Range IP address configured on the router?

If i connected the latop to brand new out of the box ASA 5505 through consloe cable and i have a config file on this laptop from other ASA5505, is there anyway i can upload that config file into startup-config of this new ASA5505 through console cable, without using TFTP or FTP?

One of our vendors requires using a public ip address to setup a site-to-site IPSEC vpn. We only have one public ip address and that will be used for the vpn endpoint and for internet access for the local network. I've setup policy NAT from our local network to the outside interface. I'm also using the outside ip address for the crypto map. The tunnel setups successfully and the Tx count increases anytime I try to ping the remote network, but the ping fails and the Rx count does not increase. According to our vendor, we should be able to ping the remote network and connect using port 443. When trying to connect using port 443, I see a SYN timeout in the logs. I'm not sure if the problem is on their end and they're rejecting our traffic, or if something is misconfigured on our end. I'd like to make sure that I have everything configured correctly before I go and point fingers at them.

I get stuck in one case. One of my customer has two FTTH lines. I have to config PPPoE in routers. In one line I config succesfully, but one line never up. I call to ISP they ask me to config extactly VLAN id 10 in the physical subinterface. But in subinterface there is no command "pppoe-client dial-pool-number". I check the old modem FTTH, they also config VLAN 10 in Wan interface. I tell ISP why we have the same two FTTHs, but two differrent config ways. ISP says because the two line run in two different infrastructure, two different devices. I don't know how to do now? stay in customer side or ISP side. Here is my PPPoE config:

Had no problem getting into IOS via Terminal and changing the host name, username and password. Then I loaded the Cisco CP Express onto a system and got into the web config. Problem is....the default IP is 10.10.10.1 / 255.255.255.248 and I wanted to change it to 192.168.1.1 / 255.255.255.0 I did it in the web interface and it applied to the router, but after that I could never bring up the web interface again on 192.168.1.1. Checking IOS showed that the new 192.168.1.1 did indeed "take". I even added an access list for the 192.168.1.0 network.

Basically all I want to do is login to my routers config page so that I can forward ports. I was able to this a few weeks ago but recently I have received this error. Failed to connect
Things that I have already tried:
- Tries using 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1, http://192.168.1.1 and all kind of variations.
- Tried with different browsers.
- Tried with seperate computer with different OS's (Mac and PC)
- Unable to flush dns because I get this error: CMD prompt error message .
- Have factory reset router a few times now.
- Unplugged, left off for 20mins-2hours.

I have a 1941 integrated services router that will not keep the configs. After several atempts of saving running config to the startup config, then rebooting the device. I am having to reload the configs manually from TFTP because they are gone. I have also tryed the "wr" command to see. Is there a proper way to shutdown this particular type of router?

I have recently made a WAN change from T1 to fiber and my Cisco 2600 series router no longer needs to connect over the Serial T1 card. The Serial connection also provided a few voice channels for the old phone system that are no longer needed. I need to keep Main Cisco 2600 router in place because I have many network devices that use it as the gateway instead of my firewall. I will not require the second subnet for Offsite Cisco 2600 anymore either. commands that will be required to remove all instances of the Serial connection and Offsite Cisco 2600. I posted before about my problem in forwarding certain ports in a LAN-to-WAN cascaded router setup, and I finally gave up looking for a solution, and went for a LAN-to-LAN. On the internet there is many articles to be found on how to accomplish the setup, but none of them is complete, and as such, I think I really screwed up someplace. My setup: ISP modem/router (192.168.1.1 / 255.255.255.0) DHCP enabled, and DHCP address range 3-100 NAT configured Static IP address for a Synology NAS connected to the E4200 SSID id_1
Then the E4200 Internet connection type: I set to Static IP IP 192.168.1.2 Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 0.0.0.0 (to disable the WAN)
Then, the network setup: Router IP: 192.168.1.2 gave me the error that WAN and LAN IPs were identical. I played around quite some time but always got an “illegal value” error. Then finally I put the IP to 192.168.0.1 (IP I had in LAN-to-WAN) and this was accepted. And subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 The SSID I left unchanged from what it was, id_2 (also gives me the advantage that I know to which router I am connected)
I rebooted the E4200, and I was connected. But … I am unable to connect to the E4200 configuration page, and even Cisco Connect cannot establish the connection.

i have installed TL-MR3220 after my livebox (orange french box), my MR3220 is configurer on the DMZ zone in the livebox, internet is ok on the pc but when adsl signal is down on the livebox, the MR3220 don't switch to 3G connexion. The wan led is alway on in the router. But if i unplug the wn cable, the router switch on the 3G connexion. If i plug the wan cable the router kill 3G and use wan connexion.
How can i config my WAN config on the router for automatic switch by the router. Actually, the WAN config is fixed address (DMZ address in the livebox) Whis PPPOE id, the router can't connect. The livebox modem can't work on briddge.

I keep getting this error every few days and I have to restart my router in order to gain access back to the web utility. I reflashed the fw a second time with no success. I have read about this trip 30 reset but have had no luck finding a post which describes how to go about that method.

I need some info on how to open an RV042 config backup (.exp) file. I recently had an RV042 that got very wet and it is now dead, and I do not have another on hand. BUT I do have the config Backup that includes the user MAC authentication list that I really need. Is there a way to get this information other than loading into another RV042.

I have a 2801 running c2801-spservicesk9-mz.124-3g.bin According to the Cisco IOS MIB locator the image supports OLD-CISCO-SYSTEM-MIB I have tried .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.55 etc to set server IP address and the filename string but without any luck.e.g.
Reason: (noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB.
Failed object: iso.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.55.a.b.c.d (where a.b.c.d is the server IP)
I have also tried the method similar to that for Cat 3550 switches where you create a table of entries to define the transfer paramaters then activate the transfer (I think the CISCO-CONFIG-COPY-MIB)

My network generally runs older routers (2600 series) with 16 port switch modules (NM-ESW-16). This has always worked great since I can configure the router and the switch ports on the fly, making changes to either as necessary. Well I am upgrading to 2811 routers, and we wanted to get gigabit ethernet ports on our switch modules. I think I made an error when I purchased a few of these switch modules: NME-16ES-1G.
The first problem, is that the switch ports don't even show up on the router config, I have to establish a session into the switch, (And I can't seem to get back to the router unless I manually switch off power and restart). I don't like this type of switch module, it's like I'm running a completely separate device, and while having a layer 3 switch is cool, It doesn't let me setup routing protocols so I don't like doing it this way. I want to go back to using a switch module that simply adds a ton of ports to my router like the NM-ESW-16. (Note: The NM-ESW-16 does actually work in the 2811 and would be perfect if it were Gigabit speed.)
The seconds problem is that the NME-16ES-1G isn't actually a Gigabit switch. It has a single gigabit port, but the 16 ports are all Fastethernet, and not gigabitethernet. So ideally, I am looking for a switch module that I can fully configure from the router interface that has 16 gigabitethernet ports, and works with a 2811. IE I want to do this. [code]

I cannot open the config page of beetel adsl2 router using 192.168.1.1I have connected my laptop to router via Lan cable. Bought recently and I'm very pleased with Setup and Performance.
However, even though I have tried repeatedly with different user details and passwords I cant access the router Config without resetting to defaults using the pin in the back and admin admin.
I am using W7 and get to a log in screen via Control Panel / ... Network Sharing Centre / Network Map and see Router. Click on this and up comes a User Name and Pasword form but it never works with what I entered for the router.

I recently (~month ago) switched to a new computer after my old one (which I had configured the router on previously with no problems) died.Since then, I have been unable to access my router's config page (entering in the ip address simply results in a blank page with no prompt for username/password). Switching browsers (I've tried Firefox 5 and IE 8) does not solve the problem, nor does disabling AdBlockPlus/NoScript on Firefox. Any way to access my router so I can begin forwarding ports again?

Recently I added a second web-server to my network. I have 2 static public ip's from my isp. My setup will be:
isp(two static ip's)---->Verizon MI424WR Router--->server 1 and server 2.
I currently have server 1 with IP: 192.168.1.100 and server 2 with IP: 192.168.1.101
If I have the two static public ip's xxx.xxx.xxx.27 and xxx.xxx.xxx.28. How do I forward xxx.xxx.xxx.27 to 192.168.1.100 and xxx.xxx.xxx.28 to 192.168.1.101
I read somewhere where i have to set the iptables on the router to do it. Do I have to buy a special firewall/router to do this or can mine do the trick.

I'm really bad on networking so I have a question about NAT. I got two public IP addresses from my ISP: 92.x.x.252 - 92.x.x.254. 92.x.x.254 is configured as secondary on external interface and clients will use it two connect (vpn) it from outside through cisco 1841 to zywall p1 with wan ip address 92.x.x.253. Is this configuration (look at picture) allowed? How can I route traffic from 92.x.x.254 to zywall p1, if posible?

how to configure public ip on router 1841 and ASA 5510. let me show you my issue that: i have router 1841 ( for F0/0 use pubic ip add 10.10.10.1 /30, and F0/1 use other rang public ip add 20.20.20.1 /24) and on ASA 5510 i use public ip add E0/0 20.20.20.2 /24 ) all this for public ip add and my lan ip is 192.168.0.1/24.
could you let me know how to configure on router 1841 and ASA 5510. for router 1841 if you use private ip we can use nat but for all public ip add how can we do it?

I have a problem with my web application. I cannot access it from my internal network using my static public IP (i.e 49.123.456.7). However I can access it from an external network using my static public IP. Is there a way for me to allow access internally as well as externally?
