We are using a ADSL 827h in one of our sites. This router has worked fine until a month ago. Users are losing access to the internet overnight. The VPN tunnel stays connected, users are unable to get to any outside websites, i.e. Yahoo, google. We unplug the router and it comes back fine; until the next time.

Not sure what changed but it is really annoying. I checked that my router is ok and tested the speed and it is as it was before - average speed 2mbps.I've only had this hp laptop a year and I am running windows 7.

When both are powered up, the wireless router sometimes doesn't get internet access because the modem automatically logs itself in. I have to plug the modem cable to my laptop, manually disconnect the modem, and plug the modem cable back to the router to fix it.

I tried the port forwarding method but with this router when I enable the ports I lost internet access in my wired devices but my wireless devices still have internet access. I even lost internet access on my computer. I never had manu problems with a router trying to get my NAT type open on my 2 xbox.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that I have to reset the power on my srp527 more and more often, at first I thought it may be a glitch with my service provider but this is now happening more and more regularly. The internet just goes off, the network still exists and all the lights remain on (both adsl lights stay on) all the computers on the network (3 computers) cannot access anything on the net. A simple power off/on of the router restores everything but surely you do not need to do this everyday?

There are 3 laptops in my house including mine, and i keep losing network/internet access every couple of minutes so I have to go to the router, unplug the device, and plug the device back in every couple of minutes, usually 10-15, although it varies, and the same has been going on with the two other laptops, so it's not just my laptop.

I noticed that when this happens I cannot login into the router from my pc which is connected to the RVS4000 network.The only way to restore connectivity is to restart the RVS4000 by disconnecting power and powering back up.The router's WAN is connected to my Cable modem.The RVS400 has two PC connected to it. View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been successfully printing to my HP 8250 printer USB connected to my e4200 router for nearly a year from my xp ethernet pc and 2 windows 7 wireless laptops. Today nothing could print to it and when I deleted and tried to reinstall using cisco connect it tells me I am trying to connect an unsupported device both on ethernet XP PC and wireless windows 7 laptop. I have installed no new software or drivers this year. I have had to regress to attaching the printer back to the XP PC and sharing it which obviously means the PC now needs to be switched on to print.

Rebooting of the notebook works but after I close HDD folder window the issue comes back. The issue exists only with Wi-Fi connection. Everything is fine using LAN connection.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy internet service provider is Optimum Online which is cable. I'm using the Motorola SBV5120 Modem that Optimum supplied, with the Asus RT-N66R Router. I had been using the Netgear WNR2000 until today, and I was fed up with the disconnecting issues.
Although I got the new router, the disconnecting issue is still there. I have a PS3 and a PC connected via Ethernet, and 2 MacBooks, 2 iPads and 4 smartphones connected via wireless, when all of the family members are home. I get disconnected from both wireless and wired when I do have this problem.
Is the number of devices attached to the router a problem? My internet doesn't just slow down, the connection gets lost.
My router keeps going out, and the only thing that gets me back on is to unplug, replug, then I'm good but only for about 20 minutes.

I have a netgear DG834GT ADSL router which runs fine with my Belkin 51B64C wireless router but when I enable "Use as Access Point" in order for me to see my wireless laptops connected to it the internet performance goes bad, the traffic cuts out momentarily for about 7 seconds at a time, its pretty difficult to surf the net having to wait.The setup is as follows:

as I said above the reason I enable "Use As Access Point" is so I can see the devices in Explorer for file sharing. Is there a way I can use port forwarding on the router to see the devices it would solve the performance problem.
ive been having a problem with my router since ive been using it for its wireless capabilities. it is a linksys wrt120n router. our internet comes from our local cable provider and it is good internet (10Mb download speed). running to our old router that split the connection between my xbox and our desktop computer worked fine and even for a large amout of time after i switched to this wrt120n there were no internet problems. now all of a sudden the router drops connection multiple times a day which can become a hassle when i'm doing something importaant and lose connection. and just a little bit of extra information i cycle the systems every time it does it and theres no fix.

View 9 Replies View Relatedwe've given up on the 4410n. we have two of them, one at the front of our office, one at the back (we have a floor in a highrise in san francisco). the one at the rear of the office - version one hardware, has never had any trouble. it just runs and runs and runs, has been up in the false ceiling for more than a year now. the one at the front of the office started giving us trouble within months of installation. not passing traffic. took it down from the false ceiling and kept it on my desk. staff got in the habit of just power cycling it when the first person showed up in the morning, since it always locked up overnight. RMA'ed it, got a version 2 hardware unit. seemed better initially - but it was faking it. same problems. going unresponsive overnight. gave up.
bought a $40 TrendNet AP. not a single problem in the month it's replaced the 4410N.
better quality hardware at less than 1/4th the price. wow. never buying a cisco WAP again.
I have a pretty old Linksys WRT160Nv3. I tried support from them but I was told my router is too old to receive free support. My router is connected to a comcast modem (Motorola).
Two days ago I tried to connect to the internet with my iPod and had no luck, the same went for my phone and my roommate's laptop. When I went on to the computer with with the router I was it was connected to Network 4 our local network and couldn't find any other networks. Our router came with 'Network Magic' so I opened that to see if our existing network showed up there, but only it's settings were there...it's like the computer tried to erase our network. I reset the router and re-made the network and this solved the problem for the day and most of yesterday.
Yesterday evening, I came home to the same problem. I did the same thing I ddi the first time, but instead of reseting the router before I did anything I skipped to re-installing it. I'm here because this happened again this morning, and before I go and set up the network again, I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong and what I should do. I even got a new anti-virus because I was afraid there might be a virus on the the computer making it act weird but I haven't been able to complete a full scan yet.

I have a brand new E4200 constantly losing internet connection (both wireless and wired). I have a ADSL connection to the internet, last router I had did not have the same issue. I also have a Cisco ASA 5505 for work connected to the ADSL modem and is not experiencing any disconnect issues. All computers connected to the router is losing internet connection, local lan keeps working. The internet connection gets back again after a 10-15 minutes or when resetting / turning off the router.
I have tried the following;
Changed ethernet cables
Disconnected the ASA 5505
Turned off wireless
Upgraded the firmware
Reseted to factory settings
Router config and i just follow the instructions anyway i just bought this router cuz the old one failed and it was installed ok with internet connection and everything but when i open a program like bittorrent azureus the internet connection dies, it happens on my laptop and mac they both seem ok but when i open that program internet connection disappears
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Wimax internet connection via an ethernet cable from a small roof top receiver dish. Inside the house the cable (RJ45) is plugged into the POE slot on one side of a small electrically powered black box, and from the other side, an ethernet cable (RJ45), connects to my PC. I want to share my internet connection with my HTC mobile and would prefer to make use of an existing Belkin 54g ADSL2 modem/wireless router (Belkin F5D7633) if I can. As this router's incoming port is specifically for ADSL my internet RJ45 cable can not plug into it. I have been advised that I can still utilise the router part of the Belkin though, using my PC as an access point, by plugging the ethernet cable from the PC side of the little black box into LAN 1 on the router, then joining the PC to LAN 2 of the router with another ethernet cable.I did not alter the configuration of the Belkin at all (having reset factory defaults beforehand), mainly because although I could access the internet from my PC and my mobile, I could not access the IP address of the router, presumably because the properties of the local area connection on my PC remained unchanged with the IP address (172.168.1.149), Subnet Mask (255.255.255.0), Default Gateway (172.168.1.1) and 3 DNS addresses (172.168.1.1) (10.30.0.1) (8.8.8.8) as they were before hooking up the Belkin. The IP address the mobile received through WIFI on connecting to the Belkin was 172.168.1.148
I was not unduly concerned about not being able to access the configuration of the router as everything was working as I had hoped it would and even when I powered off my PC I still had internet access on my mobile. On rebooting the PC, however, I found that the router changed the DNS addresses on the PC to 2 only, both identical (192.168.2.1) and the IP on the mobile was allocated 192.168.2.2 Although I could still access the internet on my PC, I no longer had access from my mobile although the WIFI connection to the Belkin showed as being 'excellent'. When I did a 'repair' of my internet connection, hoping to revert to a fully operative state, the PC configuration changed again as follows: IP address becomes that of the router (192.168.2.1), Subnet Mask (255.255.255.0), Default Gateway (192.168.2.1), 2 DNS addresses (192.168.2.1) and the IP address allocated to my mobile remains (192.168.2.2) This configuration means I have no internet access from either PC or phone, but CAN access the router configuration. I restored a usable operating state by unplugging the power from the router, transposing the cables in the LAN ports on the router (swapped cable from LAN1 to LAN2 and vice versa), turned off WIFI on mobile and waited a minute or two. When I powered the router back up and switched on mobile WIFI again, everything was restored to the original working state and I have, once again, access to internet on both PC and mobile. It is very frustrating, however, to keep performing this ritual and I wonder if any of you more technically minded, know a way to work around this, perhaps by manually changing the configuration of PC or router?

Recently in the morning the router will have lost ability to connect to internet <internet light is on> and I cannot access the router page <sys light solid> from either wired or wireless connections. Why is this and will it be solved if I upgrade firmware?

I just bought a SG200-18 in order to use LAG between a backup server and multiple computers and servers. Servers are supposed to all use 2 links and computers only 1.
As soon as I activate LAG on port 2 and 3, no matter what is connected on the switch I lose access to the switch interface (luckuly, it's still working on port 17 for a strange reason) and all computers / servers connected are randomly losing the network access. Everyrhing start to be slow but most servers and computers don't lose access to the internet. Browsing a web site will suddenly take ages but... it will work eventualy.
I already used LAG on other switch without a single issue.. The only uplink I have is to the router and I know that I don't have any issue with network cables....
So what am I doing wrong ??? I didn't even try to configure the TEAMING on the servers, just creating LAG on the switch will kill everything Oo.. I'm starting to think that my SG200 is dead out of the box.
I have att dsl and im using a linksys wireless router and lately my interenet keeps disconnecting. Specifically the little wireless icon in the bottom right of my windows 7 display gets a yellow exclamation mark for about 10-30 seconds then recconects. Its quite annoying and seems to be happening more often now. I have a strange setup on the router, i think its running in bridge mode or something and the modem is doing the actual routing.
