We have a client that has a large number of AIR-AP1252AG-N-K9 installed in the network with power injectors. We have seen a about 48% failure rate of AP's failing with all 3 red lights on the unit. Once I get the AP in the lab I'm unable to get any response from the console, therefore unable to troubleshoot.

Trying to update my firmware 1.00.01 B15 to 1.00.01 B17. I downloaded the firmware to my desktop (using mac os X 10.5.5) and connected my computer directly to port 1 on the back of the router. I have two switches that always are with yours CPU in 39 or 40 %. the switches are:

I think it's very strange the CPU always in 39 or 40 %. neither all ports of the switches are busy there are 6 ports free in each switch. 40 % I think it is a high value for CPU maybe because my IOS version 12.0 ?

Dropped Packet Rate (ACL Dropped) = 6000+ (more than 6 thousand)
Scanning Attacks = 18600+ (more than Eighteen thousand)
I went on the ASDM and checked the RealTime Log viewer and I have about 30 entries per second of these:

The other night, I could not ping major domains like ATT, CNN, MSNBC, BBC (a chronic missing domain). On the other hand, I could get Yahoo fine and go to a streaming audio site and run music perfectly...but about 90% of the Internet was unreachable. I have a question about my Desktop and the Belkin Wireless adapter that I am using for it. There seems to be a problem with my internet connection and I can't figure it out! I'm suppose to have speeds up to 18mbps and I'm only getting up to 5mbps on my Desktop. Now, here's the weird part...when I connect to my wifi on my laptop and cell phone it gets 16mbps. And i can connect that APs but no led is lid.

Purchased my dell XPS-17 laptop five days ago. When i connect to Wire less and test my download speed it keeps varying ranging from 1Mbps to 40 Mbps. Where the Wire connecting gives a constant speed of 58-62 Mbps. Checked with my Internet service provider. The analysed the issue, logged into my computer in safe mode and the wireless was giving a speed around 55-60 Mbps consistently. They say some application is causing the speed fluctuation. Can you suggest if any of the Dell Pre installed apps can cause this. I have just installed gtalk/yahoo messenger and Winamp from my side , and they are not in the startup menu and not even launched when i test the speed.

I have tested this with 10 different units at 3 different sites where the provided broadband downlink speed is a full 50Mbs, including in my own office. My normal router is a Cisco ASA5505 and I have also connected a Cisco 1840 router and even an old Linksys router and all achieve the full 50MBs speed using a variety of speed test sites. The cable modem at my office and at the other sites have a gigabit LAN connection and the RVS4000/WRVS4400N units certainly should be able to achieve the 50Mbs speed. If this issue can not be resolved, my clients will no doubt want me to install a different manufacturer's unit, which I will do.
View 11 Replies View Relatedi have two 5508 ver 7.3.0, one is the primary and one is the guest controller. mobility is up and running. i have an exising guest ssid working with wpa2-psk and web authentication and its working fine but i require a second guest ssid that only uses a wpa2-psk for ipod/ipads as i cant use passive client on primary controller. i presently have the one vlan range and dhcp setup on the guest controller to give addressing to either ssid. i know you can have multiple ssid setup on the guest controller but in other sites i have only had one guest connection comming from the primary controller, just a primary controller on each sites was only creating one link to the same guest controler.
