Mar 10, 2013I have 2921 router and I have 3 very basic switches that I need to connect to the router. The switches have very basic default configurations and there is no way to edit them, so I only have one VLAN and one default gateway. I can't assign the same IP address to each LAN port. I'm not sure how to make this setup work.

Jun 10, 2012configuring up a 2921 router for remote site which is fitted with 24 port Etherswitch module.As part of this setup I have defined 3 vlans on the router, but when I go onto etherswitch and for example set switchport access to access vlan 3 it is not aware of this vlan.Do I have to set up trunk inbetween Router and its etherswitch?Wish I had ordered seperate switch as it would have been easier or am I missing something.sho vlan-switch shows my vlans but on swicth sho vlan brief does not.

Jun 11, 2013How are certain settings/config transfered across to the AP's from the WLC, e.g. username and passwords, snmp strings etc.... I assume this is when the AP joins the WLC.More to the topic of the original question I had in mind, is it possible and if so, how? - to configure snmp read and write string from the WLC and push this config out to AP's. I can't believe someone will have to sit down (me) and SSH to 150+ AP's per WLC to configure SNMP.
One of the buildings lost connectivity to the WLC's breifly a couple of days ago and all seemed to have lost their SNMP settings. Connectivity was restored, but couldnt poll the APs. When I SSH'd on to a couple of AP's, and manually configured the snmp-server community xxxx ro - SNMP started working again. Since there are many, there must be an easier way of doing it.I've tried resetting the AP from the WLC and also powering down AP's and bringing them back up.

Jan 30, 2012Is there a way to send an SNMP trap form the ASA when port 80 is trying to be accessed??
We use the ASA5510 and also use ScanSafe Web Security. Web Security is great but we find ourselves worrying if user has edited their Browser connection settings to remove the proxy settings that we push down using Group Policy. We also cut off the users ability to make changes to those settings but it interferes when I need to troubleshoot a special program that cant use a proxy server. It just makes it harder for me. The other thing is that Group Policy only works for IE. Google Chrome will inherit the system settings in IE. So we have Safari and Firefox as well as a lot of others to worry about not getting the configuration. There is also debate about limitting the use of anything but IE and FireFox.
Without laying down the law and getting all sorts of hate mail and death threats I would like to run ScanSafe in such a way as to make sure each user receives the Group Policy settings and that is all.
I would now like to just set up an SNMP trap on the ASA for ANY traffic that is trying to get to port 80. Either get in in my syslog server or have the asa email me directly. Scansafe sends the Internet traffic out on 8080 to the Proxy towers.
I could block port 80 outbound but again, I limit my ability to troubleshoot on the fly. I would have to break this every time I need to troubleshoot.

Network 1 : 169.254.XXX.XXX/16 on GigabitEthernet0/0 interface
Network 2 : 192.168.1.XXX/24 on GigabitEthernet0/1 interface
On the network 1 side there is a multicast source (169.254.200.200 destination : 225.0.0.1) on the network 2 side there is 1 receiver which is not multicast capable(old) but i want it to receive the multicast stream for the moment we configure the ip multicast-routing and each interface each interface with ip pim sparse-dense-mode then configure the GigabitEthernet0/1 in order to join the multicast group (using ip igmp static-group 225.0.0.1) and wireshark confirm that the multicast stream on the network 2 side from 169.254.200.200 -> 225.0.0.1 of course the receiver don't the stream, but if i force a "multicast to unicast" process inside the router it shall be ok.. after many hour of internet browsing i found 2 solution :

Oct 2, 2011I just got a brand new Cisco 2951 router that has built-in 3 gigabit interfaces cards. We want to add additonal 2 GE EHWIC-1GE-SFP-CU card to it. When it booted up and type show inventory, it did not detect the presence of the card. There was light on at the back of it. I have checked the compatibility on Cisco. The card is compatible with this router. Do we have to install the card with special instructions in order for the router to see it?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 2921 Multiple Netflows From Same Router
Nov 15, 2012What I’m looking to do is setup a net-flow monitor for traffic going across a PIX firewall. I know unfortunately I can’t do this directly from the PIX because it does not support net-flow.
I do have a 2921 router on the same network that I have net-flow enabled to monitor traffic across the MPLS Connection.
Since the traffic for the MPLS is going out a direct interface I have applied the IP Flow egress/ingress commands to that interface to obtain the net-flow data I need. The PIX firewall however is not a direct interface so this can’t be done. I have done a little reading and believe I could use a policy map to create a “filter” so that any traffic that meets the ACL associated with the Policy-Map would get sent to net-flow monitor.
My question is how do I set that up so that so I can have the two net-flow data “streams/sources” go to separate net-flow ports so that I can monitor them independently of each other or is that not possible?
Both devices are connected to a 3750X switch; however neither is connected to a 10GB port. To my understanding that means I can’t run net-flow on the switch itself.
