D-Link DIR-615 :: Can't Forward Ports
Nov 13, 2011
I can't get port forwarding to work, even when I turn off the Windows 7 firewall and AVG anti-virus software I'm running. I entered the IP address of my laptop (with a DHCP reservation) and UDP and TCP port numbers, with Schedule set to Always and Inbound Filter set to Allow All. That should be it, right? However, when I check the ports using PFPortChecker, both the UDP and TCP ports are blocked. I do have a Linksys wireless router daisy-chained to the D-Link router, but I'm not communicating on this computer through the Linksys router and the problem still occurs even when the other router is disconnected, so that doesn't appear to have anything to do with the problem. I just updated to the latest firmware (3.13NA).

I had a DI 604 router and I couldn't forward ports, someone told me to buy a new router because my modem (TM602G) doesn't have a built-in router and can't be blocking it so I bought a DIR 601 with wireless and I still have the problem.I don't have any firewalls.

I'm trying to open ports 2934 and 2935 UDP on my Linksys E1000 router in order to play Falcon 4: Allied Force multiplayer but it's not working.I've correctly created a static IP, and logged in to the E1000's page. Under "Applications & Gaming", and then under "Port Range Forwarding" I entered values thus:

I cannot successfully forward ports on this router, I've tried a few things but I can only assume the firmware is bad. I've already looked around for a solution but everyone says they solved it by just getting a different router (which at the moment isn't an option).

I went out and upgraded to the E3200 a week or so ago and since then i've been unable to forward any ports. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of: disabling Windows firewall, setting a static IP for my computer, setting a static IP for the router, enabling forwarding in both single and range menus, DMZ etc. Here is a screenshot of the port forwarding page just to confirm that i'm doing nothing wrong:In the above photo you will see that I set the computers static ip to x.1.2 and I later changed it to a value that was within DHCP range as listed on the status page of the router admin gui and it still didn't work. So, what I ask of you guys is if you can think of anything that I must be fundamentally doing wrong in order for this not to work. Could it be that i'm missing some possible drivers or network utilities on the computer i'm trying to forward ports too

I've just bought a Cisco 887m-k9 and I am trying to forward the ports. I have a Polycom HDX H.323 device connected to it with a static IP of 10.10.10.5 (ethernet port 0).Previously I had a consumer grade Linksys router which worked fine (I simply entered ports into the GUI), but I couldn't hardcode LAN port speed so I bought this. I have the list of TCP and UDP ports which are forwarded using the following commands:
ip nat pool Polycom 10.10.10.5 10.10.10.5 netmask 255.255.255.0 type rotary
ip nat inside source static tcp 10.10.10.5 80 88.xxx.xxx.49 80 extendable
ip nat inside source static tcp 10.10.10.5 443 88.xxx.xxx.49 443 extendable
ip nat inside source static tcp 10.10.10.5 1300 88.xxx.xxx.49 1300 extendable
[code]....
Where 88.xx.xx.49 is my static IP, while 77.xx.xx.170 is my default gateway.

Need to port forward certain ports for one computer but need UPnP for 2 different ps3's.These are the parts I have. I have read that the GT704WGB does not have a true bridge mode. I don't want to bias anyone however. How to best use this equipment so that I can port forward ports on my laptop. There are also several laptops, desktop and phones on my network but the 2 ps3's and my laptop are what primarily concern me.
-Actiontec GT704WGB for Verizon DSL (Modem / Router Combo)
-Actiontec Support GT704WGB Wireless DSL Gateway for Verizon High Speed Internet access
Cisco Linksys wrt54gs v4 (Router) currently running Tomato firmware but I can flash dd-wrt back to it in a second.

I am attempting to forward port 25565 on my router, and having some trouble. I've set a static IP address as both 192.168.2.10 and 192.168.2.111, and attempted a dynamic IP address. The port forwarding page via 192.168.2.1 in the browser looks like this, with the Private IP Adress changed to whatever corresponding IP address I have set (checked with cmd /ipconfig).
After testing with multiple online port checking tools, the ports remain closed.

We're trying to get a remote access setup for someone who needs to have access from offsite. To make things easy we set it up with a virtual machine running Windows 7 and RDP. Because the "other end" isn't our computer and we've had some difficulties with people using the Cisco VPN client successfully, we were just going to set up a machine as a RDP Gateway and forward the port through the firewall (WebVPN might be nice, but the plugins only do RDP through v5.x). I've tried this on 8.4-1 and after reinstalling the latest 8.2, and supposedly the NAT works and there is a firewall rule allowing access from the outside to the RD-GW server on HTTPS, but the ASA is still blocking those packets. I've looked at 4 howtos and followed them, trying from the console and from ADSM (and one trashed the whole setup, probably related to the reinstall of 8.2) - [code]

I am new to the RV180W. I am running the most recent firmware--version 1.0.1.9.
I am having trouble getting FTP to work with my QNAP NAS.
QNAP indicates that I should forward ports 55536-56559 to my NAS. I created a custom service to accomplish this, and then, under port forwarding, I selected the service and forwarded it to the private IP that corresponds with the NAS.
However, the port forwarding configuration only allows me to specify *ONE* internal port. With other routers I have always specified the same private port *RANGE* that corresponds with the public ports that I have opened up.

I'm trying to forward ports for SQL and VNC using these commands in the CLI:
ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.1.150 5900 interface GigabitEthernet0 5900
ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.1.150 5800 interface GigabitEthernet0 5800
ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.1.150 1433 interface GigabitEthernet0 1433
where 192.168.1.150 is my server (that hosts SQL server and that I want to be able to connect to remotely using VNC) and GigabitEthernet0 is my configured WAN interface.
When I try to connect from an external client I get the error: "Failed to connect to server..." Is this a firewall issue? How do I get round it? The 819 is the only router/firewall in my network.

I have an ASA 5505 running 8.4(1), and I'm configuring it with ASDM 6.4(1). The outside interface is configured with a single static address. I have a few services port forwarded sucessfully to three different servers on the inside network.
I need to make a media proxy on a SIP server available to the outside. It requires a large range of forwarded UDP ports for the media channels.
I tried adding a network object NAT rule like the others I'm already using to forward HTTP and RDP. I entered a range of ports for the real port and the mapped port using the syntax 60000-60999. ASDM accepted it, but the NAT rule list displays "Any" in the service column. When I apply the change, I get the following error:
nat (inside, outside) static interface service tcp 60000-60999 60000-60999
^
ERROR: % Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
How do I forward a large range of UDP ports from the outside interface to a single server on my inside network? I'd like to use ASDM, but I can switch to the CLI if that works better.

Router 1
Cisco EPC2420
192.168.1.1Connects to ISP via F-connectorConnects to Router 2
Router 2
Asus DSL_N55U
192.168.1.2Connects to 192.168.1.12(Linux Server)
So I bought router 2 but since it doesn't have an F-connector input I need to keep router 1 in the infrastructure so I can connect to the internet. The port forwarding on router 1 is a limited list so I can only add so many rules and would rather have my router 2 do this as it alot better but i cannot seem to get it to work.So I set a rule in router 1 to forward all ports to router 2 and then setup the port forwarding in router 2 to send port 22 to my linux box but it didnt work.

I can't get any type of port forwarding or DMZ to work with this router. I've checked for double NAT, have a static router IP etc.
I'm using Vista, but I've tried it on a computer with XP as well. I'm using the standard windows firewall, but I also tried disabling it.
I'm using the original 1.10 firmware, I don't know if this is a known issue that was fixed or not.

I just bought this to replace a working Linksys but wanted gigabit so after reading a lot of reviews this is the one I picked up. So tell me what is the magic toggle to get port forwarding to work or virtual servers? I've configured them on Linksys, netgear, Cisco, etc 100 times with no problems. Nothing I configure on this confounded thing works. I've setup 6 port forwards, RDP, FTP, VNC and none of them work. Nothing. "Connection timed out" when trying to connect. This works on my other router just fine so its not my software, or my PC configuration as they have no changed. Ports are correct.

DIR-601, Hardware Version : B1, Firmware Version : 2.00NA.Trying to open up port for RDP (3389) to WinXP machine (tried with DHCP and with static IP on XP workstation)Tried both Virtual Server (3389 to 3389 and other port numbers to 3389) and a simple Port Forwarding (3389 TCP). Both methods work correctly for about 15 or 20 minutes, then the router blocks traffic on the opened ports. If I delete the virtual server/port forward settings and recreate it will again work for about 15 or 20 minutes.Even tried creating my own schedule (although I would be quite happy with always)
Also can't find a link for the 2.00NA firmware to attemp a reflash, I have only be able to find firmware for the HWverA unit. (other than the wrt stuff, is there any other firmware for the B1 unit?

After I am on with Tech Support for 2 hours, they say the router is defective and will not work for Port Forwarding....!!
I have installed these in many locations and have not had a problem. ALL sites had a DHCP WAN.
I have PPPoE here on FIOS, with a great connection, no issues for 4 years. But lately my Intellinet Router has had to be reset 2-3 times a day, so I replaced it with the DIR-655 RevB.
Well, only for a little bit. The Dlink will NOT Port Forward... I need it to look at cameras, Remote Desktop, etc. Tech Support and I tried PF, and Virtual and DMZ with no luck. we tried many ports, with several internal IPs.
I have another DIR-655 in stock and it has the same results...
If I plug the Intellinet back in, all Port Forwarding works fine... no problem at all to any port. BUT it still has reset issues (not related to PF...)
Anyone else have PPPoE out there, with Port Forwarding issues?
I wrote Tech Support to notify me if they ever fix this glitch, and they sent back the instructions for Port Forwarding! Do they even read what we type?

Goal: To forward requests over port 80 from my LAN to an external server on a specific port, that is I would like to forward all requests over http to an external proxy.
I know that this can be done with IP-Tables, but I would like to do the same thing with my D-Link. I have looked at Advanced --> Routing, but that seems to be specifically for inbound requests. I want to do this for outbound requests. This can be achieved with the D-Link DIR-655?
