D-Link DIR-615 :: Drops Wireless After 24-48 Hours

Apr 14, 2011

I have recently moved into a new house that has a DIR-615 router. I have noticed with the router that it will drop the wireless connections after roughly 24-48 hours. The SSID will no longer be broadcast, however, the computers that are wired are still connected.I currently have the E3 hardware version, plus 5.10 firmware on the router

TP-Link Dual-Band Wireless :: TL-WDR4300 - DHCP Not Dealing Addresses After Few Hours?

Dec 9, 2012

Region : Poland
Model : TL-WDR4300
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 3.13.23 Build 120810 Rel.44064n
ISP : [url]...

I'm having issues with DHCP server not dealing IP after few hours (varies between 1h and 8h) of torrent traffic. If no continuous torrent traffic is applied, the problem does not occur. New wireless devices connect to the wi-fi network, but get stuck on 'getting IP adress'. The problem is with DHCP service or the wireless network service. New wired devices receive IP. The problem is only with wireless devices. I have no additional wireless device, that I can configure the network settings on my own (only phones) to check if it works without DHCP server giving IP. Wired connection is stable, but the bandwidth usage curve becomes somewhat similar to a sinewave.

I did disable the hardware NAT because that feature made the router unstable and caused it to hang up within minutes.

D-Link DIR-655 :: Disconnect Every Few Hours - WAN Just Shuts Off

Jun 4, 2012

Every few hours, the WAN just shuts off.  If you were connected to it when this happens, you cannot reconnect until you have reset the router; you can't even find the SSID.  If you were not connected when this happens, you can connect just fine.  This happens with all devices in the house, my laptop, my DAP-1522, my cell phone, and my brother's Mac (SMH, sometimes I think we aren't related...).  I am running version 2.00NA on B1 firmware.

I am really tired doing this every day. I tried firmware 1.21 to 1.35 and non of them were good.I know that 655 has good performance compare to its price but I think it has world's worst firmware.

The internet service provider that I am using is Time Warner Cable and the modem is an ARRIS TM502G.I have tried resetting the modem and the internet seems to come back. Same thing happens if I try to reset the router instead of the modem. I have also tried restoring the router to factory default settings and that didn't seem to work.

I have my D-link DIR 600 and I never had problems with it until now. For the past three weeks, my router keeps on disconnecting my Desktop P.C. from which the main internet cable is connected. Whenever it happens, I try connecting my Netbook over a WiFi connection using the same router; and even though my desktop can not connect to the internet, my netbook still can. Apparently when it happens, the [3] (the 4th light in the image) light goes off, and I have to restart my Desktop P.C. for it to turn on again and to use the internet again.

D-Link DIR-825 :: MAC Filtering Blocks Allowed Devices After Several Hours

Jan 28, 2012

I have yet another problem now with the DIR-825.  I have a DAP-1522 that I connect my multimedia devices to like my TV, BD player, etc.

For added security, I use MAC filtering to only allow access to my devices that connect to my router.  However, after several hours, the devices connected to my DAP-1522 can no longer connect and neither can I connect to them.  The odd thing is that I can connect just fine to the 1522 itself.  I NEVER had this issue with the DIR-655 so I figured it had to be the 825.  After trying several things, I essentially narrowed it down to the MAC filtering.

If I turn MAC filtering off everything works fine all the time.  If I turn it on, everything works fine for several hours, even up to a whole day, but then eventually my devices can no longer see or be seen.

D-Link DIR-655 :: Wireless Internet Occasionally Drops Out?

Feb 18, 2012

I have a new DIR-655: H/W Ver. B1; F/W Ver. 2.00 NA? It is solid as a rock to my wired computers, but the Internet connection (not the wireless signal) to my wireless devices (laptops and smart phones) occasionally drops out for several minutes, many times each day. It is not necessary to reset my router to reconnect; after a while wireless Internet returns on its own. I upgraded from another D-Link router and never had this problem. In my judgment the problem appears to be the router. why the wireless Internet connection might disappear and then reestablish itself?I used an app on my smart phone to select Channel 11. No neighbors have routers close to this channel. My cordless phones are DECT (1.9 MHz). My microwave oven does not cause this dropout.

The DIR-655 wireless settings are pretty standard:

 - WPA personal security mode
 - WPA mode is Auto (WPA or WPA2)
 - Cipher is TKIP and AES
 - Group key update interval is 3600 seconds
 - 802.11 mode is mixed n and g

When this wireless Internet connection dropout occurs, the router's signal strength does not decrease; the Internet connection just disappears. Time after time I have confirmed that the integrity of the Internet connection remains solid on my wired computers and disappears only from my laptops and smart phones.I have checked the wireless spectrum when the wireless Internet connection disappears. There is no other signal, e.g., no neighbor's router on my channel (11), and the strength remains at 5 bars.

D-Link DIR-655 :: Router Drops Wireless Connection Often?

Nov 12, 2011

I have a brand new dir-655 of the B1 / 2.00NA version. It seems to keep a connection alive, but the wireless signal will suddenly and randomly disappear from all of my devices. I have reviewed this forum for hours and have made many changes to my settings, but nothing seems to keep the wireless signal from dropping.

Deleted the B mode, made sure the DNS entries were present, stick on one channel, etc. There are no other routers here and all of my phones operate on the 5 Ghz frequencies.

I never, not even once in three years, had this problem with the A version of the same router, but now it's a constant problem at least once a day.  Nothing has changed by the router same brand and model but the newer hardware version.

The only remedy I have found is to reboot the router -- my devices will reconnect automatically once the router reboots, but there is no connection discovered once the connection drops regardless of how long the router sits doing its thing.

I've also notices that there are no wireless clients showing under status/wireless...they were there earlier today, but since the latest reboot, gone.

Router doesnt drop internet connection but only wireless connection. Sometimes 3-4 times an hour. It's very annoying especially when you upload large files (for example 16-20MB) to your mailbox. It drops connection and we get Limited Access and you can try to upload again and again. Anotner example during VOIP conversations for example on skype it drops and disconnects skype.Firmware was never updated just router was bought with this firmware. We are located in China so its correct. When laptops are connected using LAN cable it works fine but its impossible to keep laptops connected using LAN cables all the time. The problem occurs only when we are connected by wireless.QOS is enabled, WISH is enabled. When QOS and WISH disabled it's same also drops connections on WIFI.

Networking :: D-Link DIR-636L Wireless Drops Periodically

Jun 17, 2013

Just a few days ago, my router started acting up. We have several laptops and phones all connected fine, then I will suddenly lose internet access. The windows 7 networking icon is showing me connected but no internet access, however, I can't even connect to the router ip address over wifi. If I use a wired ethernet connection, then everything still works. If I power cycle the router, then everything will work for an hour or two before it drops the wifi connection again. When the wifi goes down, all computers can see the network, but none can connect to it. From windows 7, it just times out.

What could be causing this problem, and steps can I take to troubleshoot this kind of problem?

I can still log in to the router from a computer on the wired ports and reboot the router. It also thinks the wireless is working but everything looses connection to it. We have 3 laptops and 4 phones that use the wireless and they all cannot connect when it goes down. This is only a new device - less than 6 months?

D-Link DAP-1522 :: A1 In Bridge Mode Intermittent Wireless Connection Drops?

Apr 21, 2013

I have a brand new DAP-1522 A1 connected to an 802.11n wireless LAN in bridge mode. Running in the 2.4GHz band with WPK-2 and AES security/encryption.Everything runs fine 99% of the time, but once a day or so the wireless LAN connection on the DAP-1522 drops and then takes about two minutes to re-connect.  It re-connects and then everything is fine for a day or so until the next dropped wireless connection episode on the DAP-1522.  I know my 802.11n wireless network is 100% fine as during the dropped connection to the DAP-1522 I can connect directly to the 802.11n wireless network (running from my gateway/router) using my other computer, no issues.I've seen some posts on this forum that the A1 version of the DAP-1522 hardware is not 100% compatible with the 802.11n network standard and there will be intermittent wireless drops.  If this is true, it's just insane.  All I can say is I can't believe DLink would allow a product to be sold that won't work properly on 802.11n networks.I check the logs each time I see the dropped wireless connection and all that shows is the following.1) Negotiating connection   2) 4-way handshake success [mac address]There's no message in the logs about why the wireless connection dropped, but I assume it has something to do with re-newing a key for the wireless network as the successful key renewal messages are the only other messages in the log.  When the wireless network dropped I don't see the successful key renewal message at the time I should see it.I thought this DAP-1522 would take 15 minutes to configure in bridge mode and then I'd forget about it.  Spend too much time on this already, so a bit disappointed with this DAP-1522 and DLink tech support....though when it's connected to the 802.11n wireless LAN it works fine.

TP-Link 150Mbps Wireless :: TL-WR741ND Drops All Connections (wired And Wireless)

Region : Argentina
Model : TL-WR741ND
Hardware Version : V4
Firmware Version : 3.16.4 Build 130205 Rel.63090n
ISP : Fibertel

My TL-WR741ND is about 1 year and a half old, it was working fine until about 2 weeks ago. I need to reset it, times between resets is not consistent, meaning, it can take 30 minutes, or 8 hours, but it needs to be reset. Right now, there are 2 wired connections (PS3 and Desktop PC) and 7 wireless (4 cell phones, 2 notebooks and 1 netbook). 1 of the notebooks has static IP, and it also has a VM running, with another static IP. Also some port forwarding simply stopped working (ports 80 and 1180), the rest of the ports work flawlessly, but trying to forward the port 80 and 1180 (to the 2 static ips) won't work. I already upgraded the firmware, and the problem persists, also changed the channel (from 6 to 1, and then from 1 to 11).

Installing dd-wrt/openwrt/gargoyle or anything like that, is not an option. The only reason why I bough t this router, was because I could use dd-wrt, I installed it 1 year and a half ago, and it simply sucked, the wireless bandwidth was non existent, and it was a headache. I installed it again last week, to see if it could be a solution, and I was not even able to save changes in the control panel. I need a real solution, and installing a firmware that works only on chrome is not an option (specially when I use Firefox, and I needed to install chromium just to erase dd-wrt)

After a day or so, my internet & network connection will drop all of a sudden and all the routers need a reboot. There is no indication on what provoces these lock-ups. The routers can handle heavy traffic (bittorrent /w 100s of connections) but will stop working when browsing casually. The web-GUI will become unreachable. No pings to the outside are possible anymore, not even to direct IPs (8.8.8.8 for example). No pings to devices in the same network are possible either.
