DNS Server Can't Be Resolved - Unable To Visit Many Sites
May 9, 2011
Lately I have been experiencing an annoying issue with my connection. My signal strength is excellent, but every 5-10 minutes I have the problem that the DNS server can't be resolved, so I can't visit any websites. All I can do is wait, the problem disappears after a few minutes. I tried ipconfig /flushdns but that didn't work.
MY ISP installed one router in my lab.for internet connectivity they mail me steps :connect your Laptop directly to gi0/3 port to check internet connectivity with public ip 1.1.1.x and Gateway 184.108.40.206 with subnet mask 255.255.255.240 after connection I surprised because I am able to access only google sites like gmail, google search etc. but I am able to ping/traceroute all sites.from browser I am able to access only google sites only.In Router no firewall no such access list.
we would like to get Internet from the new router and have it go through a second (old) router on one port and another wired connection on another port. Currently, when we connect the old router to a port, no traffic goes through and dns cannot be resolved.
Our office is running a DELL Poweredge server2 xeon processors16 GB memory5 RaiddrivesVM WARE with 3 virtual machinesOne of the VM's handles our DNS with is our main server second is an exchange server third is a sequal applicaioas of recent we have notice a few website sites we cant access (municipalities of which we access tax info) we need to visit on a regular basis. and it only seem to be just the 3 or 4 that are closest to us. Othe area communities we can access fine. All we get is a page cannont be displayed. The sites works outside our office or on our phones.[CODE]
I'm having problems connecting to certain sites on the internet through one computer. I can connect ok on other computers going through the same home network. On the one computer that is having problems I can connect to the site but then when I click on a link I get unable to connect then I can reload the page and some times it connects to the page. So as I am browsing through the site almost every time I click on a link I get unable to connect and have to keep reloading the page.
We can't find the Linksys router's manual and have no clue what is causing our WiFi not to let us access certain websites. For example, we are unable to access the Microsoft, Target, our local Library, YouTube and some other ones that we find out about once it doesn't let us get on them. We thought it was an issue with Microsoft Security Essentials because we hadn't updated it correctly, but that was not it. The reason we know it is OUR WiFi because we can access the sites I mentioned above whenever we use our apt complex WiFi, so it is not our laptop. We have the same problem with this when using our wifi on our iTouch. I hope that all made sense (had to access this site with my phone.)
I have today the issue that I am unable to load certain websites, I can enter but whenever I click on continue to navigate in that same site for example FACEBOOK, I see the operation just loads and dont go anywhere, after that remains in same condition unless I cancel or close the browser.I checked the firewall, and also the antivirus, but nothing seems wrong, I can get in into HOTMAIL, GOOGLE, but again certain sites if I search something on GOOGLE, get frozen again .
I built a computer down at school in Utah, semester's over so I went back to Idaho for the summer. When I got here I seemed to stop being able to connect and load content from random sites. It gets a ping time out every time on the same random websites.
Some of the sites:
I can access these sites in Utah, so I called my ISP (frontier communications, previously verizon.) They flushed the DNS and checked that the modem wasn't to blame. I checked my host files and they're unaltered. After two hours on the phone they were stumped and hung up. [URL] loads fine, but it won't load the pictures which is odd.I'm not sure if it matters but I do have a 6 year old modem (westell 327w) that I think uses LAN g whereas my mobo (asrock extreme3 gen3) uses Realtek 8111E if i'm looking at the correct specs.one last thing to add would be that I am not able to access [URL], but I am able to access [URL]. Is there something all these websites have in common that cause them not to load?
IP addresses of the clients connected to Wireless end points are not getting resolved in LMS 4.2 user tracking ? Whether LMS will resolve IP addresses of the clients connected through Wireless end points ?
Note : Those wireless end points are not monitored by LMS
I have been accessing my webmail account everyday for the past 3yrs with not problem until this week. Stopped working mid week. No changes to computers. Have 3 and none will access this site any longer. Just times out. Sometimes I can ping and other times not. Can log onto other networks and access with out any problems. My ISP says it is not their problem. (Site is [URL]).
We have recently implemented a 3rd party certificate for the guest access, currently have a WLC 5508 that has a Vlan directly connected to our DMZ firewall and NATed out. The problem is when I have installed a 3rd party certificate as per the following link URL
The DNS host name that I entered into the DNS Host name section is not resolved. If I remove the DNS name and leave the virtual ip address 220.127.116.11 then it works fine but just comes back with untrusted message.
Unable to connect to unsecured wireless sites using a USB Realtec high gain antenna on a Toshiba laptop running Win7 Pro, 64 bit. Network troubleshooter resets adapter but states it cannot correct the problem. Wireless adapter settings set to High Performance. Latest Realtec drivers have been downloaded and installed. Light on front of the laptop shows that the wireless function is running. Turned the function off, rebooted and then turned it back on. Same result when Toshiba is operating off 110v so power shouldn't be the problem.
Everytime i try to go to a site that uses a google server, i get the message "The server at www.google.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the web service that translates a website's name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Google Chrome from accessing the network."
This problem just started. I am unable to load certain https sites (for work). If i directly connect to ethernet, it works, so my isp isnt my problem. When i try to connect to the sites, it says "sending request" then times out. I have played around with the settings non stop and nothing has worked. I have a mac running 10.7.5.
We are in the process of evaluating Cisco wireless controllers and AP. We have 3602 APs and 2504 controllers right now. We have multiple branch offices connected to the main office through layer 3 and they all have different vtp domains and vlans. I am trying to deploy APs at the branch offices and connect them back to the controller and the central site. I created a sub interface and ssid with one of the vlans at the branch office on the controller and was able to get the AP to join the controller through DNS. However, a client at the branch office connected to the AP was unable to ping anything at the branch and central sites. Any documentations on how to deploy such a setup where the controller is at the central site and AP at the branch office going through multiple routers in between?
I purchased the EA6500 a few days ago, and when I'm connected to Cisco Connect Cloud I am unable to select Folder Access / FTP Server / Media Server. I click them and nothing happens. Also, the Cisco light on the router keeps blinking.
I configed a VPN server with incoming connection. client connected to server succesfully.but sever and client havent any data send or receive. the server dont set an ip for client. this is connection properties:
as you see there is no data sending or dara receiving...
Apparently the problem seems simple enough however I couldn't get it working. My router is being configured to access a web server in the network which is on port 80. However, port 80 is being used by my router's setup page. Therefore whenever I key in my public IP address, it will just immediately direct me to the router's page.I have also tried opening up other ports like 5050 and set my web server to port 5050. Internally within the LAN itself everyone can access the web server with port 5050. However, going from public IP address with port 5050 doesn't work.
I've been trying (in vain) to connect a USB Wireless device to be able to use it off my wireless network. I have (2) other laptops and (1) other desktop connecting to the router with no issues. For some reason, this old desktop keeps installing an Ethernet device (probably on the MB) and is automatically Configuring the IP address to that instead of the USB wireless device.I've tried uninstalling the Ethernet device but it comes right back after I do a reboot. Even when I disable it, I still can not connect with my Wireless device.
I've been trying to open ports to start a server on some games that I play.I used a guide that shows you how to set up the server and open up the port, but I can't get it to work.I've tried making an exception in my firewall, but that didn't work, so I tried completely disabling my firewalls. Nothing. I've gone into my router settings and opening a port this way: But it still doesn't open it up. This is what I'm using to check it.In fact, NONE of the ports are open it seems? No matter what port I try to type in on the port checker, it always gives me that same error.

My laptop is connected to a router via wifi but it keeps getting a DNS fault. I have another PC linked to the same router via WiFi and that works perfectly all the time. I have the same problem on both google chrome and IE browsers where I just get the message telling me that the DNS look up failed. My internet is still connected as I can dial into my remote CCTV cameras and I can ping website ip addresses. Most times I can just turn off my wireless adapter and turn it back on and it works for another hour or so. But sometimes it wont work all day, unless I start my laptop in safe mode, when it works everytime! I have flushed the DNS cache several times but to no avail.
I have a server with two adapters: 192.168.1.200 and 10.99.1.200, 10.99.1.200 connects to a cisco router 10.99.1.254 (which I have no access to). This connects via WAN to another network to transfer files to another company. 192.168.1.200 is connected to our local LAN. I have a service that uses FTP to get and send files to a server through 10.99.1.200. I recently had to switch our IP scheme from 10.99 to 192.168 and since then haven't been able to send files to the ftp server. My question is, would a router solve my problem? If so, would I; remove the 10.99 adapter, connect 192.168 to the router, connect the router to the switch, connect the 10.99 gateway to the new router (and update any appropriate routing tables on the server)? The service appears to have issues with using a dual homed server and updating it isn't going to happen anytime soon.
They came and installed a router and disconnected my old one. I then connected my new ISP router to my switch and now Im just stuck. At one point I was able to connect to my drives but was unable to connect to the internet. But once I call the ISP they had me change setting for Ipv4 changed defualt gateway, Ip address and DNS after that I was unable to reconnect to my drives. I've done full shut downs and restarts and nothing has worked. 1 of the computers connects to the server through wifi. I also run a VPN.
I'm using a hotspot and domain network. I have a problem with my server, or might be in my network configuration. The internet connection has stopped working in the connected computers and WI-FI connection.
I'm running LMS 3.1 with CM 5.1.0 on a single Solaris 9 server. I've been unable to open topology services. I get an error "cannot connect to ANI server". I've confirmed that the ANIServer6.0 is running (it says "Running with busy flag set"). I've also tried restarting the Daemon Manager. What should I look at? Could it be a Java problem?
I am having linking a computer to our SBS server. The computer in question is set in a warehouse on our site. We have a leased internet connection which is used on a number of different offices. The sbs-server has an IP address of 192.168.50.254 with a gateway Ip address of 192.168.50.1. The firewall on this network has an external IP of 10.50.0.37 with a gateway of 10.50.0.254 and this links to the leased line equipment. The external IP address for this network is 18.104.22.168. The PC in the warehouse has an IP address of 192.168.0.2 attached via a router to the leased line. The routers Ip address is 192.168.0.1, the external IP address is 10.50.0.55 and a gateway of 10.50.0.254. This links to the leased line and seems to have an external Ip address of 22.214.171.124. My issue is that I want the PC in the warehouse to be able to connect in some way to the SBS-Server. I cannot seem to access it via the external IP or the gateway (10.50.0.37).
