Dell :: Inspiron N5110 Won't Use Wireless Connection

Apr 4, 2013

My pc is connected to the ethernet chord at home. I can go anywhere else and connect with a wireless connection but I can't in my own house. Every time I try I get an error the the network adapter isn't found. The trouble shooter can't even fix it. Everyone else in the house has no issues connecting with a wireless connection.The wireless connection has worked maybe twice for me since I purchased the laptop (May 2012). Since I am more comfortable at my desk it's no issue but there is a new printer that I can't connect to because I can't download the driver because I have to unplug my laptop to go in the other room to get to it.

Dell :: Inspiron N5110 Wireless Cannot Connect

Oct 24, 2012

I had to reinstall Windows but upon reinstallation, I noticed that wireless does not connect. I tried pressing Fn +F2. Nothing. No LED light for wireless.

First I started the WLAN AutoConfig service under services.msc. After starting/enabling this service - nothing.

I searched the forum and found a post for Quickset. I followed the instructions given and restarted. When I press Fn+F2 the screen flashes the wifi symbol and my wifi LED comes on. However, when I go to connect to a wireless network - none can be found (I have connected to this network before and know that it works). I searched support and navigated to Manage Wireless Networks. I click on the Add button and get the following message:Windows cannot detect any wireless network interfaces.

Dell :: Inspiron N5110 Loses Wireless Connection?

Jan 4, 2013

My Inspiron N5110 loses the wireless connection frequently. We have many other devices in the house -- laptops, iPhones, etc. -- that continue to work flawlessly through the same router when I lose my connection. The troubleshooter generally leads me to resetting the router, even though, as I have indicated, the router is working properly.

I tried 3 different browsers, I updated drivers, firmware, BIOS, re-seated the wireless antennas under the memory module, even got a new router and modem changed settings on the router, yet still! Every solution I could find, I've executed but still have a wireless speed test yielding less than 1.0 mbps. My 4 year old laptop runs smooth, my iPad runs smooth, all other devices run smooth.

Dell :: N5110 Wireless Is Extremely Slow / Can't Connect Using Ethernet Port

May 23, 2013

I bought my laptop over a year ago. The wireless is really slow. I read other posts about this issue and found out that the network adapter(n1030) on this laptop is faulty or something. So I tried connecting to the internet using the Ethernet port.

The port shows up on my device manager.Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller.I know there is nothing wrong with the modem or the Ethernet cable because internet on the other computers in my house work fine.

I would also like to add that when I bought the computer, it came with windows 7 but had the ubuntu sticker on it. People in Fiji only mostly use windows so I guess the shop I bought this from did the change to windows themselves.

Dell :: Inspiron N5110 Laptop / Wireless-N 1030 Card - Default Gateway Not Available

May 24, 2012

I own an Inspiron n5110 laptop(Dell) with an Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 1030 wireless card. I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I constantly drop internet connection, mainly when downloading and playing games. In the right bottom corner, where my wireless connection signal strenght is showed, I get an yellow triangle with '!' mark in it saying 'Limited access'. When troubleshooting, the only way to get an internet connection again, I get an message 'The default gateway is not available' and it says that it's fixed. after awhile I lose internet connection again and everything repeats. I figured out that it's not from my router or Internet Service Provider. I saw in the forums the option to exchange this card for the 6230 upgraded version but that is not a variant for me because in my country the technicians can at very damage the laptop.

Dell :: Getting Inspiron N5110 Wi-Fi Drivers?

Sep 1, 2012

I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 (x64) on Dell laptop- Dell Inspiron N5110 . I did not rebuild it from the factory restore disc as that failed to work.The installation is complete. I am trying To get my Wi-Fi to work by pressing FN+F2 however it is not working, the Bluetooth icon appears instead which doesn’t work either.I have tried to look for the wifi adapter in the device manager, but it does not exist in the list.I understand that I have to install the drivers. Will that do the trick? I also don’t know what the name of the wifi adapter is, so don’t know which driver to install.

Dell :: Can't Connect N5110 Inspiron To Wi-Fi

Nov 11, 2011

I am having difficulty connecting my Inspiron N5110 to WiFi (I managed to when I first bought it last week through a different network but when I bought it home it didn't work).

When I try and connect, it asks for the key, which I enter. It then searches and says it can't connect to the Network. The WiFi Network then becomes unavailable and loses signal with all Internet connected devices then taken offline. The network then reconnects but the laptop still doesn't connect to the WiFi. Is there a setting I need to change in the laptop to get it to connect?

Dell :: Wi-Fi Is Very Slow And Can Be Term As Unusable N5110

Feb 7, 2012

I have just bought Inspiron 15R n5110 which has intel 1030 wifi. At first thought i can troubleshoot the problem with google and some driver update. but couldn't fix at all after hours of knocking doors in internet forums and users shared experience.though i bought outlet unit, i was expecting cosmetic wear and tear, never thought i might have unit unusable. i am completely depended of wifi for my daily activities and cannot go to room mates place for wire connection. is this problem only solved by changing hardware coz i have tried all the possible tips and tricks found in internet forums.

i read somewhere that the hardware will be swapped if contacted dell CS with different model. if this was only option why did dell managed to sell a piece of unit not functional. isn't this a bad practice.
