Forgot My Wireless Security Key

I have a macbook and an HP wireless printer. It was previously connected, but long story short, now it has to be re-done I know how to get the printer on the network, the problem is I can't remember my network password. Is there any way its stored in my laptop? I've tried System Preferences, network, click on network name, but the password shows up as asterisks.

I remember long ago I was upto some trial and error with my router and I ended up in changing some ip that I didn't know about that time, now when I was trying to forward some of the ports. I addressed the computer to 192.168.1.1 (as this was my ip that time I remember and on the box its written too) but it didn't respond, then I remember that I have changed this ip to something else and now I can't remember this.
