How To Use MR814v3 With DG834Gv3

May 31, 2011

I've been trying to find information on how to setup this for a while. So, basically I want to use the MR814v3 wireless router as a repeater with the DG834Gv3.

At the moment we only have the DG834Gv3 at the bottom of stairs. That's about 10m's from my room, at the rest in the house, so wireless signal is very low. I'm wanting to have this MR814Gv3 at the top of the stairs, so the wireless signal is increased.

Netgear Dg834Gv3 - Wireless Connection Has Stopped Working?

Oct 31, 2011

My internet went down temporarily last week and ever since my computer has not been able to maintain a connection. It will pick up the signal intermittently but produce painfully slow internet and then promptly lose the signal all together. The wireless connection is working perfectly on laptops and smart phones, even when in the same position from the router as my PC.

Router: Netgear Dg834Gv3
Wireless Adapter: Netgear WG111v3 USB
Computer: Dell Vostro 200

Netgear DG834Gv3 ADSL Router Dropping Rackspace VPN Connection Intermittently

Feb 7, 2013

I have a Netgear DG834G v3 ADSL router which I have had since early-2007.

When I work from home I connect to office networks on a Win7 machine via a Rackspace-provided VPN using Cisco System VPN Client 5. It works well, except for one issue that is costing me time every working day.

I get intermittently disconnected from the VPN, without any warning or apparent reason.

Since I bought the router 5-6 years ago I have had no need to update firmware, so other than ISP configuration I have had no need to change the router at all and I can say it's worked well for me.

What would be the reason for my VPN connection dropping? Is this an ISP issue (my ISP is Carphone Warehouse/TalkTalk) that I have to take up with them or is it more likely a hardware problem with my router or a VPN configuration issue?

My instincts are to not look into VPN config at the moment as I know a colleague who uses the same VPN through a different router and ISP can stay connected for hours, even overnight.
