i'v recently bought a WAG120N for my home and set it up after that i checked that my wireless link speed on my laptop is 72mbps instead 150mbps after a few googling ive found that 150mbps is only avalaible on 40MHz radio band but in setup page i only found 20MHz.

View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently I have changed my ISP and switched from an ADSL (4Mbps) connection to a faster fiber connection (100Mbps). I own an WAG120N which after firmware 1.00.12 (currently installed on the device is 1.00.16) should allow LAN1 to be used as WLAN. This is true and I can use it to connect to the new provider.
However the speed when using LAN1 as WLAN on WAG120N is very slow: download 20Mbps and upload 10Mbps. The LED on LAN1 is orange instead of green as before. I have tested the ISP connection with an WRT160NL and the speeds are much faster: download/upload 87Mbps
I am using linksys cisco wag120n adsl2 modem router.When I start the router the internet speed seems great but after some time the speed drops miserably. When I again restart the router the speed seems great for few mins but again drops after sometime.It happens in both LAN and wireless mode.The firmware version of the router is 1.00.16
I was going through the problems posted by some other user but observed that cisco people are not heraing to them.Seems made a mistake by associating with cisco product.This is the worst router I have ever used.The wireless also gets disconnected abruptly.Next time I'll avoid cisco.Cisco is all about stone age products and zero customer care.

Seems Windows cannot get any ip address from the router.The router works fine with wired Ethernet devices and my iPhone when i connect it wirelessly.

I know that the 150Mps is peak speed. I wonder how to test the actual through speed of the router. Like what average speed do I get for 10 minutes of continuos streaming Speedtest.net is not useful because is just giving me the ISP speed instead of the router speed
I have TL-WR740N router. ISP should provide me up to 100Mb/s internet speed. Actual measurements shows me about 80 Mb/s. The problem is when I enable 3389 port in Port Triggering my internet speed drops to 2,5 Mb/s. When I disable port triggering, speed become normal again.

I bought a TP-Link TL-WR740R Router, the setup went smoothly, I could connect to the internet and set up WiFi connection. But after a few hours, I accidentally unplugged the Ethernet cable from the router, and since then, I can't seem to make the router work. (I obviously plugged it back in.) Setup says I have a problem with the WAN connection.I tried rebooting, resting, reconfiguring, cloning the MAC address.The router is sending packages, but receiving none. How could this happen just by unplugging the cable for a second?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy WAG120N wireless router disconnects every hour, precisely at the same time. This problem has started a few days ago, until then everything was fine.When the connection is gone, the "Internet" light goes off, the other lights remain on. For example, it disconnects at 07:30. It takes a minute or two to reconnect. Then it disconnects at 08:31. It reconnects, and then disconnects at 09:32.. and so on.Here are the things that I have tried (with my limited knowledge.. I'm not good with technology):- Turned the power on/off. No matter what time I do this at, the router disconnects at the same time again. For example, if it last disconnected at 07:30, and I turn it off and on at 7:50, it still disconnects at 08:31.- I tried resetting it, by pushing and holding the reset button on the back for 30-60 seconds (did it several times). Reconfigured the router (manually, not from a backup config file). Same situation as above, disconnects at the same time as always.
- I upgraded the IOS to v1.00.16, which I found here: [URL] reset and then reconfigured again. Still it didn't work.- Looked in the configuration pages for any values that resemble a 60 minute time span, and changed them. Only thing I found was the security key renewal period. Or was I sold a faulty product?

So is it possible to use WAG120N as a wireless client for my existing wifi network and connect tv box through cable with WAG120N? In that case WAG120N would be some kind of wireless network adapter for my TV box.
I have had trouble setting my WAG120N as router.
I am connected to internet via a cable modem, via the LAN cable, I connect cable modem to WAG120N that I want to use as an wireless access point only. And I have got 2 PC, 1 runs on XP, the other on runs on Windows 7. My XP would have no trouble to connect to wireless, but the Win7 can only connect to wireless network, but no internet. I have been using it since approx 6months ago. Previously it was working well except for some major signal issues. I was at home, in a room just beside the one where the router was placed at.So, I took a look at connection status, and saw the signal strength was Medium - Weak: something around 30% and 55% You could think it was due to mirrors, the kind of walls between the rooms, and everything else, but I instantly remembered when browsing WLAN from the same place but not with the same router, the signal was strong (100%)...but I let it alone In the other day, while browsing WLAN, I've noticed another thing, this time visible: "TX power" I've got in connection status was 39mW, while I was almost sure it should be 100mW, based on my past WLAN connections Then, today I decided to take a look more deeply in that, and unboxed my Linksys' WRT54G to test. The test was carried on consisting in both Wireless routers placed in the same room, and a solid wall was between me and the routers.I could connect to the two WLANs, but the status of connections were different.

As you can see, when connecting to WRT54G , signal reached 100% at some point, whereas in WAG120N , such a mark wasn't possible.Of course, the signal strength was unstable in both routers, but the average level in WRT54G WLAN was greater, being most of time over 90%, and never below 80%.In WAG120N WLAN, average was 82%, and lowest level was 55%.When I went to the room where the routers were at, and right in front of them, no need to say both reached 100%, but as you can see, in WAG120n's case, TX power was still 39mw: I believe it's a firmware fault, once all other routers I've connected to always showed TX power as being 100mW.It shoundn't be related to the general hardware, as Cisco products are high-quality ones.
I am connecting to the internet in two desktops using the WAG120N modem+router.I have no problems with the internet. But when I try to use the wireless access point in my mobile phone / laptop,the device is not able to find the WiFi access point. I need to swith off the modem and start it again, then the devices are finding the access point. I guess this has to do with some amount of inactivity and the modem switces off the wireless access point. I there anyway by which I can turn off that setting ? I have tried the setting page but was not able to find anything.

I bought a brand-new Inspiron 15R laptop from Dell and the DW1510 Wireless N WI-FI card will only connect at a maximum of 72mbps. I've tried the laptop with two different N certified routers a (D-Link and Belkin). Routers are configured correctly for N speed and within 10 inches of the laptop.
The speed I am experiencing is nowhere near the 300mbps connection speed possible.

In order to avoid constant radiation I would like to be able to connect my computer and router using an ethernet cable and if possible disconnect and use it wireless when I need more than one computers or netbooks to be connected to the internet. I tried to connect my computer with the router using an ethernet cable but I realized that I continued to have the wireless network on.

Checked everything it says to check.Im swapping from an ordinary adsl modem but i unplugged all of that and the WAG120N shows steady Power , 1 ethernet number lit and flashing ok, Wireless is lit and DSL is also also lit. Rebooted a few times too.
