Dec 28, 2011I own a BEFVP41 v2.1. Under "access restrictions" I set days and time when access to internet it is allowed. Also applied "Website Blocking by URL Address" and "Website Blocking by Keyword" however some users are now getting access to the internet. I must also mention this settings: Firewall protection it is enable. Router DHCP it is disable and we use static IP address for the PC´S so I established IP range to apply the restrictions. I also try blocking with MAC address of the PC's.Everything else it has default settings. Internet wire goes first to the router and then to the LAN switch. What am I missing?

Dec 20, 2011I'm just trying to port forward with this router, and after I'm done entering all my settings, I click save settings, it tells me settings are successful.
But the it goes back to the port forwarding page and all the stuff is at default again as if I didn't make any changes. What the hell is this?
I'm sure it's just a little something I don't know about that's making it not save any changes to port forwarding.

When I put in th port number and save the changes, it brings me to a screen that says my changes have been saved yet when i go back to the page they haven't. I have tried deleting the cookies on my browser, using another browser, using another computer, and hard resetting the router for ten seconds. None of this works.

After clicking both ''save settings'' and ''continue'', it simply returns to the Single Port Forwarding section, except everything is blank, as though nothing was saved.

Feb 27, 2011I try to make changes or save changes from the web page on my BEFSR81 nothing changes and everything revert back to the original setting made a long time ago. cancel changes works fine as the page reloads, but save changes won't make it save or reload the page with saved settings. i updated java and used 3 different browser and always get that error.

May 17, 2011BEFSR81 will not save port forward info. I am trying to setup port forwarding for xbox (53, 80, 88, 1863, 3074), I click on enable to the far right and then click save at the bottom. It says settings are succeful, will return in 5 seconds. When it returns everything is zeroed out.

Apr 19, 2011I have a BEFSR41 ver 4.3 and I upgraded my firmware to 2.00.4.8 from within the router. Had a problem with the flashing power light. Resolved the issue after reading another post on this forum using the TFTP utility. Now, however, if I go into either Port Forwarding or Port Triggering and change anything, there is no Save Changes button to click on in either page. They are missing. If I click away, or close the browser and come back, all changes I made are lost. I have tried reloading the firmware at least four times. I've powered off, pressed the reset button and any combination of these that you can reasonably think of. The buttons are gone! I have tried accessing the router from both IE and Firefox, accessing the router from all the machines on my network, to no avail. Everything was working fine before the upgrade, of course. The router does not have the option to save the old firmware before any upgrades are made. The original firmware has been overwritten so I can't go back to it.

Apr 6, 2009I have finally been able to reconfigure my BEFSR41 V3 Wired Router to properly support my small server environment. I would like to know if there is a way to make a complete Backup of the current configuration that should be restored to the router if it should become "reset" to factory defaults. This happened to me approximately a week ago, and it took several days, a couple of phone support calls, and quite a bit of"grief" and aggravation/frustration before I managed to get everything re-configured correctly. If it had been "Backed up" to a file, I could have restored it and been back up and serving websites in a few hours. Instead it took almost a complete week! Is it even possible to actually backup the router? Or... must I just print each screen to be sure I get it all?

Feb 15, 2010I have a problem with RV042. My ISP gives me automaticly IP address and i had no problems using different types of routers, including linksys routers. With RV042 i just can't get the IP. It says, the port is up, i see the packets/traffic, front control light is blinking but it never receives the dhcp settings, doesn't matter if i use wan1, wan2, dual wan mode or single wan. I have the newest firmare 1.3.12.19tm. System statistics says "disconnected" but the packets come in and go out. Log shows absolutely nothing. I also disabled firewall but it didn't work. I can't seem to find the older 1.3.12.6 firmware.

Oct 19, 2011I upgraded the firmware per one suggestion, but no difference.I am going thru the setup wizard with ethernet cable attached. I want to use them wirelessly so I clicked wireless setup, and entered my network info. At that point I get an error message saying it failed to save settings. I know the ID and password are correct.I have tried exiting the setup wizard and accessing the camera thru the web interface. All wireless settings are correct. The camera works FINE on web browser, myDlink, and even my iPhone app as long as the ethernet cable is attached.Other wireless devices have no trouble connecting to my router. Is there some setting on the router that can be preventing the connection? I've done some trial-and-error changes, like different ports and enabling/disabling UpNp on both camera and router.Oh and almost forgot to mention.I did call tech support, which was a joke. Some foreign lady was reading off a script that told me to reset, unplug, reboot everything. Then she gave me a case# and said upgrade the firmware.

Jan 3, 2012I have Network Magic Essentials and use a Linksys WRT54GS router. I just received a Cisco Linksys 2500 and assumed that it would be a breeze to set-up in place of the WRT54, so that I could gain faster internet and improved range. After about six hours of frustration trying to set it up, I am pulling my hair out! I live in a remote area near a lake, and our only option here is a
Wi-Fi signal beamed to our homes via an antenna, coax cable to a "radio" ( Alvarion BreezeAccess). This has always worked very well with the WRT54, but with with the Cisco 2500, I can get on my local network just fine, but I cannot get connected to the internet. I can disconnect the 2500, and reconnect the WRT54, and get right back on the internet.
