Linksys Wired Router :: RV042 WAN2 Port Doesn't Work

I just need to know what to do with this RV042. I have two modems, a cable and an ADSL. Both are configure correctly, in bridge mode. Both work fine when connected to WAN1, but when connected to WAN2 they never go online (dont' get IP address). The connect lights are on but they never go online.
I was able to install the RV042 router to my ATT DSL line (WAN1 port-INTERNET) and it gets an external IP address automatically and the Internet works. When I connect my Comcast Internet to WAN2 port INTERNTE/DMZ) it doesn't get an IP address. and the Internet goes down and the WAN2 port ip address says 0.0.0.0.I've tried releasing/ renewing and it still says 0.0.0.0.Everything else is set as the default.
I bought a Cisco Linksys RV042 (Firmware Version: 1.3.12.19-tm) a month ago. I installed it with two Cable Modems (Webstar DPC2100R2) from the same internet provider and with the same individual bandwidths for the two of those. My setup is Dual Wan mode since I only bought this device for load balancing the traffic through the two WAN connections. I need to clone both WAN MAC addresses on the router ports in order to get connected to my ISPs provisioning server. The RV042 has no issues getting a connection on WAN1 when MAC cloning has been made on this port, however, when I clone (user define, different from WAN1) MAC address for WAN2, this port never gets a connection and stays on IP 0.0.0.0 all the time.
I’ve tried factory reset, reloading the latest firmware (which already came pre-installed), switch modems from WAN1 to WAN2 and vice versa, disabling Firewall, turning on and off the ports on Port Management tab, changing SmartLink to Load Balance mode, enabling and disabling Network Service Detection, DHCP vs. Static IP on WAN ports, manual setup, setup through the wizard.
Nothing seems to make WAN2 port function correctly with the User Defined MAC address. The only way to make it work is using the factory (default) MAC address on WAN2, then it gets the IP address from the modem. Again, WAN1 works correctly with a user defined MAC address same as with Default MAC address enabled.I have read endless customer’s posts having the same issue from several years ago in this Community Forum and all over the web, and none of them have had a definite solution to the problem from the manufacturer.
I got a brand new wireless router and made it the first in line with my cable modem. This is necessary because I want to take advantage of all the features in the new router. I put the RTP300 behind the first router and switched off DHCP and connected the internet port into one of the 4 regular ports on the back (typical configuration for a pass through router). So everything works perfectly for any computer attached to the router (they can access the internet etc). The only problem I have is the VOIP doesn't work. If I pick up my phone it says this device is not registered to a phone number.
I am using an RV042 router/firewall -- firmware v1.3.13.02-tm -- connected to a cable modem.I have one public address (WAN1) assigned by my ISP's DHCP server. All my machines on the LAN have static IPs. (RV042 DHCP Server is disabled.)I have set up port (80) forwarding to 192.168.1.101. The HTTP port forwarding does work if an http client on the LAN sends a request to url...But I cannot get a response if I send a request to url... from a machine on the WAN.I did configure Access Rules to allow http traffic (and then tried to allow *all* traffic) between a single IP on the WAN and 192.168.1.101.
The incoming log table shows a connection is made from the http client on the WAN to the correct http server on the LAN, but there is no resonse from the LAN to the WAN.Is my configuration the problem, or is this feature not supported by the RV042 router?Could my cable modem be blocking outbound traffic?
I have a system with a RV042 managing the internet connection.Behind the RV042 I have an e-mail server and a development machine that I access through SSH.My problem is that if I forward port 25 to my internal e-mail server it bypasses the firewall rules.I have an external vires and spam scan host that is the only one I should accept incoming email from - but it seems that whenever you add a portforward then it bypasses the firewall rules.
Type: WRVS4400N Wireless-N Gigabit Security Router with VPN.I bought it last week. Its single port forwarding has an issue. I can only use that function for a couple or hours. Then the forwarding does not work. I have to reboot the router to make it available again.
I have 2 WAN connection @ my office. One is the static IP from Reliance Network
The other connection of WAN is dynamic from AIR TEL...
When i logged into my router. I can see the dynamic IP from Reliance on WAN1 status. But on WAN2 is see everything as 0.0.0.0. The WAN2 configuration has been set to get the IP automatically...
I tried the other solution offered by one of the support guys, by turning on and off the modem, but that does not work...
Or do i need to change the WAN2 connection to be PPoE or something...
I tried restarting the router and the computer, but to no avail. I've also tried with another ethernet cable and tried several ports, but that did not work, either. What is interesting is that other computers in the household connect to the router via wire without problems. I suppose that means something's wrong with my computer, however, I do not know what. I have a netgear router which says "N300 Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Router DGN2200v3" on the back. My computer has Windows 7 Home Premium installed. I'm using a DSL connection, and Avast! antivirus.
Region : Austria Model : TL-MR3420 Hardware Version : V2 Firmware Version : TL-MR3420_V2_121206 ISP : 3
I am using a MR3420 V2 together with a E398 modem. The connection works well, but I can't do any port forwarding (virtual server). Using another router (Tiny Dovado) with the same E398 modem works flawlessly to forward ports.
I would like to the the RV042 for a one to one NAT, but I need it to NAT to an address that is not on it's local subnet. I have it routing properly to the address, but web interface only allows adding an IP on the local subnet. Is there a way around that?
We have 3 Cisco RV042. These were purchased to permit VPN from two branch offices to our head office. VPN is required to permit the two branch offices to use Avaya IP phones to connect to our main head office switchboard. We also have users on Blackberry and Apple iPhones to collect their mail through OWA from our Exchange 2010 server.
I've noticed in one of your threads that the RV042 routers configured for VPN do not permit the use of HTTPS to connect to OWA and that seems to be the problem for us. Since installing the VPN our OWA access is not possible.
What can I do to resolve this problem and what router would you suggest that I could use at the head office to enable the two branches to connect VPN to head office? And if there is a suitable router, would I need to replace all three?
I have a problem with my WAN ports. I can´t obtain a ip adress from my ISP. I´ve tried factory reset. Upgrade to lateset firmware. Clone MAC adress from my PC. Nothing is working.
But when I plug the WAN port into my Old router it receives an adress directly. When I plug the ISP connection directly into my pc or the old router it´s working as well.
I am using the latest firmware: RV0XX-v4.1.0.02-tm.bin
And My ISP has an interface with an ADSL modem SmartAX with DHCP.
I'm experiencing quite a slow vpn performance. I've tested different scenarios.* Windows XP with built-ín pptp client and Shrew ipsec client* Linux built-in pptp* wireless and wired connections? I never managed to go above 1MBps neither with windows or linux. I managed to go up to 3MBps using the Shrew client.I've also checked mtu settings and everything seems to be fine.
I am converting from a Cisco Model 850 to a RV042, all is well so far but I cannot implement one feature I had on the old router.I want to do one to one nat from one internal ip to one external ip but I only want to use one tcp/ip port. The command to do this on the old cisco 850 was this:"ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.1.181 80 75.xxx.xxx.181 80 extendable"Can this be done with the RV042?I can do one to one nat but it include all ports.
my office network is running using a Linksys Router RV042 and at home i have a Linksys Router BEFVP41. i'm trying to setup a QuickVPN from home to my office but having problems. both routers have different LAN IPs. the firmware version for my two routers are listed belowRV042 - ver. 1.3.7.4BEFVP41 - ver. 1.02.00?
LAN L1, with IP addresses 192.168.10.x, for Company C1 LAN L2, with IP addresses 192.168.11.x, for Company C2
I have networks separated: different racks (but very closer fisically: a wire can be thrown), different gateways (to DSL), but both LAN's must connect with each other. I have acquired two RV042, one for each company to create VPN's (permitting telejob).
I tried to upgrade the firmware of my RV042 router. I downloaded the file (RV0XX-v4.0.0.07-tm-20100819-code.bin) and check the cheksum. When I try to upload it, I have the message "413 Request Entity Too Large". How can I do ? Should I unzip the .bin file (it's about 30Mo) ?
i am trying to make a simple Site to SiteVPN between two offices, one has Cisco ASA and one has RV042 router.when traffic initiated from ASA side, i keep getting this message in Debug and tunnel wont come up . [IKEv1]: Group = A.A.A.139, IP = A.A.A.139, Queuing KEY-ACQUIRE messages to be processed when P1 SA is complete.Apr 26 00:15:53 [IKEv1 DEBUG]: Pitcher: received a key acquire message, spi 0x0
whereas if traffic initiated from RV042 side, i keep getting this message in debug and tunnel wont come up.
My quickvpn setup has been working great for a few years but it stop working recently with the following error message in wget_request_error.txt: HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 501 Not Implemented 20:10:10 ERROR 501: Not Implemented.quickvpn hangs on the dreaded verifying network stage.Checked VPN router logs and also quickVPN client logs and confirmed the tunnel has been created successfully. However the ping was unsuccessful.I look through the forum and confirmed that my quickvpn user account and password only contains alphanumeric characters.
We have a Network set up with a RV042 router. Router is hooked up to Cox Cable and ATT DSL. Currently have 20 computers hooked up to the router all using Static IP addresses. Setup has been in place for over 7 years. I want to set up a Wireless Access point on this network. The problem is, I can't seem to get DHCP to work right even WITHOUT the Wireless Access Point. I have taken one of the computers that works great with a static IP and changed it to be DHCP, I have enabled DHCP on the router and set the from and thru parameters for the IP assignment. The computer will connect and get an IP address and it allows me to see all the INTERNAL servers on the network but going to the Internet is REAL FLAKY. I usually have to refresh 5 or 6 times to get a web page and sometimes even that don't work. If I do get a page to come up there is about a 10% chance that it will bring up a subpage of that page without doing a refresh 5 or 6 times. Its like it won't hold the connection to the Internet. I did notice one thing different in the User Manual of the RV042 that is different than all the other Linksys routers I have worked with. It says that when you enable the DHCP on the router, you then make sure ALL computers hooked to it are set for DHCP. All other routers I have worked with do NOT use that word ALL. Am I missing some setting or is this a binding thing where you are either ALL static or ALL DHCP?
Small office, 2 RV042, 2 DSL connections. 1 is used striclty for the business side, and the other is for our CCTV network. They also have seperate DSL connections as we have 2 external IP address for clients to connect remotely. We don't want to take away our exisring setup, but would like to bridge both networks so a few of our internal clients can connect to our CCTV network and use some of the devices. Right now they come in on VPN but its not as fast.Is this doable without adding additional hardware? Both networks need DHCP enable as well.
I have been running a email/web/ftp server on one server for 9 years. I have currently acquired a Barracuda spam 300. I cant get the emails to go thru the barracuda first. Here is how it is setup: my email and web come in thru one outside address..call it 166.5.5.5 I have a 1 to 1 nat for 166.5.5.5 to 10.0.0.2 (email/web/ftp server) ports 25 and 53 are forwarded to the 10.0.0.4 (barracuda) then out on 25 to my 10.0.0.2 no emails go thru as long as it is set this way I can nat the 166.5.5.5 to the barracuda first and emails go thru, but I lose my web and ftp will this router work for me? I was told that i needed to change mx records for email to 166.5.5.6 and then forward nat on that address to the barracuda. I dont really want to change mx records for 10-12 email domains.
I am currently using Netgear FVS338 Routers / VPN Devices in 3 different locations and honestly I am not happy / impressed with them whatsoever.I have been doing some research and came across the Linksys RV042 and RV082 devices that caught my eye. The question is what is the VPN throughput of these devices?I have gone over the website, spec sheets and they only really say the throughput of the LAN Links and not the WAN Links. I currently have very reliable 20Mb+ Synchronous connections between all 3 sites and have not been able to get any good performance out of the Netgear devices and contacting their support is a joke. They can't tell you anything other than it should work or we will swap out the unit. Well if I have 3 of them that have been purchased at all different times I don't believe that they are all having the same issues. What these units 3DES VPN Throughput and will more than likely be purchasing 3 of which ever once suits our needs immediately.
I have a RV042 router and we are trying to set-up our OWA for outside access. I can't figure out which ports or which page those ports are on to open them. We are a small company and we do not have IT except for ourselves. The internal network works fine but i can't get the Exchange access from outside.
Having a problem everytime I try to use load balance on my Rv042 it is slow as a dog and sometimes wont connect at all. if I run in smart backup mode its fine. removed firewall rebooted everything tried numerous configerations upgraded to the latest frimware just about to be convinced
I've got an RV042 router at home and am connected from my office via the QuickVPN client ver 1.4.1.1.2. I can ping the RV042 and log into the administration page and make changes. However, I can not see other computers on the remote network. I can not ping them. When I open my Network page, I still see the computers on my local network.
All machines are running Windows 7 Ultimate. ISP is Comcast at both locations. WAN IP's are dynamic, but have not changed in over a year. Local IP's on the remote (home) network are static..[url]....
We have an RV042 router.I'm looking for a solution where my drop-in clients would have their own WIFI key to access Internet, with no access to our LAN.
-Can I place a Wifi AccessPoint on the DMZ so my drop-in clients use it to connect to the WEB.
-While putting another Wifi AccessPoint on a regular LAN port for Employees to use and stay within the LAN?
