Linksys Wireless Adapters :: EA2500 Will Not Connect To Network

Apr 7, 2013

I am installing a Cisco EA2500 wireless USB adapter to my old desktop (windows xp pro) and it keeps asking me for a WEP key/password to connect to my network that obviously must be 5 characters and my network/router is WPA2 and is more than 5 characters. How do I connect?

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA2500 Won't Connect To EA3500

Apr 30, 2012

I bought a new router today because my WRT54GL was giving me some fits. I purchased an EA3500 and I'm using an EA2500 adapter on the desktop since the router can't reach it via ethernet.  Some of my early troubles with this combo began with not being able to test upload bandwidth.  It would just time out and give an error via the built in Cisco (OOKLA) utitliy and through speedtest.net after which, the network would show no internet access and I'd have to reset the adapter.  After trying to troubleshoot that issue it grew into zero internet access for my desktop however my Nexus would have wifi access without issue.  If I'd startup in safe mode with networking I'd have net access shortly and then it would quit about 30 seconds after startup.  I've tried uninstalling all drivers for the wireless NIC and the Cisco Connect software while doing everything manually but nothing changes.  This PC simply won't gain internet access with the EA3500 or even allow me to access the router through the default gateway IP.  I've since put the WRT45GL back in place and I have access again with my EA2500 adapter.  I should note that with the EA3500 in place, if I disconnected from my wireless I couldnt see any networks until I unplugged the adapter and reinserted it into the USB port (i've also tried many different ports).  I've named the SSID's of the two routers differently, tried a manual setup of the wifi, tried the CD setup, the wifi protected setup, no security, and WPA2 to no avail.  I can't seem to get the EA2500 adapter and the EA3500 router to get along.  I'm running W7 x64 Pro.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: Wusb100 Won't Connect Or See Network

Jun 13, 2011

I have had a wusb100 on my computer for some time.  Yesterday it kept showing that it had a very weak signal and wouldn't connect to the internet, although the other computers in the house were fine..  I've reinstalled it and the device manager shows it working fine.  The tv screen icon advised me that there are wireless networks in the area but the adapter isn't connected. When I click on the pop up, it tells me that there are no wireless networks in range.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: AE2500 Unable To Connect To Network

Nov 5, 2011

I recently moved to a building that does not have wired Internet access. Upon the recommendation I purchased a Linksys AEE 2500 USB wireless adapter. I am unable to install the software which means, of course, I am unable to access any of the settings. The setup initializes, shows me the wireless network available (it has a locked padlock symbol next to a), and prompts me for the encryption key. It accepts the key and it's at this point the setup stalls. It shows the "attempting to connect to network" screen then, after whatever interval the software is set for before it times out, I get a notification that setup was unable to access the network. The generic Windows drivers access the network just fine although I only get two bars and a fair connection.I do have Internet connection through the windows drivers but it is slow and watching streaming video from Netflix is next to impossible.Long story short

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: AE1000 Doesn't Automatically Connect To Network

So my AE1000 adapter doesn't connect to my network after waking my computer up from standby mode. I tried disabling the power management option where it allows you to turn off the device to save power but it still won't automatically connect to my network. I have to manually remove the adapter from the usb port and plug it back it for it to work again. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit,the latest drivers from Cisco's website, and my anti virus program is Microsoft Security Essentials

Can't find any but one network(neighbors).CD software can't find adapter.I install the adpter manually using normal xp device discovery steps.Seems like there is quite a few AE2500 issues. Should I ask for RMA return? No point in wasting more time in trying to fix Cisco's tech issue.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WUSB600N Doesn't Work Properly And Fails To Connect Network

Feb 28, 2011

I have the WUSB600N wireless adapter, and I'm using it with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I'm using the latest driver available, 3.0.10.0. When Windows first starts, the adapter is not working properly and fails to connect to any networks, no matter how long I wait. If I unplug it and plug it back in after Windows is already running, I do not have this issue. This also does not occur when "restarting" the machine; only when turning the machine off and then back on.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: AE3000 Will Not Connect?

Sep 9, 2012

I picked up a AE3000 for an older laptop, but it will not connect to any network. It is on an older (01') dell laptop running XP SP3.   I have tried using the disk and downloading the latest drivers on-line but no luck. It picks up all the networks around me and mine, but it says trying to connect and just can't. I tried it on another laptop and everything works fine. Is there an issue with this adapter and the original USB ports or XP in general? I have checked and rechecked the passcodes, I have deleted all of the profiles and started from the beginning again. I removed my anti-virus program as well as the last effort. Nothing I do seems to make a difference though. This is just used to access the internet on a laptop that is dedicated to a telescope.

I called Comcast (My ISP) and they claim it is a faulty product.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: New AE2500 Will Not Connect?

Apr 30, 2013

I just moved an older Windows XP Desktop /w Service Pack 3 from my parent's house over to mine after having my laptop fail on me. It was previously connected wirelessly at their house with a Microsoft MN-510 wireless adapter. When I got it up and running at my house, it was not picking up any networks with the MN-510. So I picked up a new AE2500 today, thinking that the ancient MN-510 may be the problem. Plugged it in, threw in the disc and voila, it started picking up Networks. The problem is, It is not connecting to my Network. The router is a Motorola SBG901. I have already disabled the security on the router and made sure that the MAC Filtering is disabled, but it is still not connecting. There has been no other issues with connecting any of our other devices.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WUSB54GSC Will Not Connect?

May 23, 2011

I just moved and when I unpacked my ANCENT desktop (circa 2005), the wireless adapter, that had worked with no issues in my last home, would not connect to the internet.  I bought a new one, a My router and internet connection are working just fine, as I am able to get on my laptop with no problems whatsoever.  After doing many online searches and two long chat conversations with Linksys tech support, no one can seem to figure out what the problem is.  The last Linksys person I talked to suggested that it might be the router settings that are preventing my PC from connecting.  My internet provider (who provided the router) confirmed that there is nothing with the settings to prevent me from connecting to any device.

This is what happened:  I installed the software with my new adapter.  It worked fine for a day or so until I rebooted my computer.  My friend messed around with it and somehow managed to get it to connect again (he has no recollection of how he did this).

When I clicked on "Find Available Wireless Networks", NOTHING came up even though I knew I had not only my own network available, but others in my range.  I finally managed (with Linksys agent) to stop the Linksys software from managing the connection, and got Wireless Zero Connection to manage the connection.  So now, when I click on my network, I get a little box that says, "Connected!", however in the list of available networks, it shows my network and says "Not Connected".  And of course when I try to connect to the internet it does not work.

I can't download a driver because I don't have the ability to hardwire this PC to the internet.  Plus, I got it to work before, so I figure there must be a way for me to get it to work again.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: AE1000 Does Not Connect On Startup?

Dec 30, 2010

Ive been reading the forums up and down about this device and i notice other threads with users having the "Exact" problem im having. Only problem is im noticing a simaalar theme to ech of those threads. The issue doesnt have a resolution.

With that said i figured i would give this a try regaurdless. The problem i have is very simple.

Windows 7 Yltimate 64 bit.
Motherboard: ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO
Proc: Phenom x6
Ram: 8 Gb

Ive tried all USB ports (2.0) on the computer and they all exibit the same said behavior. This being that when you turn the computer off, restart it, or put it to sleep...the AE1000 will not power on and has to be unseated from the USB port and then reseated before the device is seen by the system and then and only then does it fire up, connect and work perfectly.

The drivers i have used have been the ones off the CD, Then i removed those and downloaded the ones from the website. These drivers have been installed after removing the entry from device manager manually after attempts to use the normal method resulted in the same behavior.

Also i have installed this device on my Dell E6400, Dell D620 Running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit and 64 bit and they also exibit the same exact behavoir.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: AE2500 / Cannot Install Cisco Connect

Aug 19, 2011

I bought a AE2500 adapter recently and attempted to install the Cisco Connect software. It gets to the point of connecting the device to the wireless, then crashes. I noticed that as I plugged the device in, it was recognised and activated without running the software at all; at the time of the software trying to connect the device, it's already connected.Just in case it was a matter of an old version of the driver and Cisco Connect software, I went online to the website and downloaded both the most recent driver and the latest version of Cisco Connect. The Cisco Connect crashed just like the version on the CD, and the driver said it was already the latest version and wouldn't install. So I tried the direct chat option. I spoke to two people. One of them lead me to give them a lot of information, then began asking me about my router... and promptly forgot about the adapter. They even had me on the path to resetting and installing software for the router I'm connected to, which isn't mine. Then the chat session crashed. why the Cisco Connect program keeps repeatedly crashing, and how I can stop it from doing so. As it stands, I think the adapter is overloading the memory on my computer and causing blue screens; I've been getting them ever since I connected the adapter. I think it might have something to do with my computer automatically detecting and activating the device when it's plugged in, but I'm not sure.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WUSB600N V2 - Connection Fails - Can't Find WAP To Connect?

Apr 23, 2011

I purchased two WUSB600N V2 wireless adapters recently and have had nothing but problems on an otherwise stable network where I have iPads, iPhones, Netbooks, media centres, wireless printers, Notebooks and other USB PC-based network devices working without problems.

The WUSB600Ns are connected to desktop PCs, running WIndows XP SP3. I have removed the Linksys Network Management software and use Microsoft's wireless network management software.  I am running the latest drivers 1.4.10.0 for the cards. My WAP is a Belkin F5D-8236-4 running in WAP only mode. It is set to 40Mhz Channel 11 primary, Channel 7 secondary. Protected Mode is off, Broadcast SSID is on. I run WPA2-PSK AES for encryption. Note:  I've tried all combinations of bandwidth and channel settings.  I've run Netstumbler to find clear air channels - 11 seems best.

The issues are:

* seldomly connects at boot automatically without intervention.

* occasionally does not find WAP to connect to.

* sometimes will not connect to WAP - sits at "Acquiring Network Address".

* sometimes will not even get to Acquiring Network Address.

* Will often, once connected, after a while lose connection - the timeframe is inconsistent.

All of my other devices do not have these issues. I've been working on this issue for about a week trying to stabilise, even get a consistent failure pattern, but I'm about to send them both back. These are close to the most frustrating devices I've configured and I've got a lot of stuff on my network.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: E3000 Works Fine But New AE1000 Won't Connect

Jun 7, 2010

Just installed an E3000 in my house.  All wired PCs are working fine on the network, and my BlackBerry connects to the wireless signal just fine.  I got an AE1000 for my laptop.  It installs fine, sees the wireless signals (secure and guest) fine, but it simply won't connect to the E3000 either using the Easy Key I created with the Cisco Connect software or by manually entering the WPA2 passphrase.  The WZC window that shows the networks tries to connect and then fails with no error message.  Using the Cisco Connect software to do the same task also fails, and after entering the passphrase manually there, the error message is:

Error description:   Invalid Key Xml
Model name:  AE1000
Operating system:  Windows XP SP 3
Software version: 1.1.10049.0

Also, I can find nothing on the laptop since installing the adapter that allows me to switch between the dual bands.  Since that was one of the main advertising points for the AE1000, how do you control which band it's using?

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WMP600N Wouldn't Connect Unless Rebooted Router

Sep 9, 2012

I have been having problems with my Linksys WMP600N adapter and trying to connect to the internet. It started a few weeks ago in my old house, where it wouldn't connect unless I rebooted the router, or it would take a long time (over half an hour after being turned on to connect.)Then when I moved it got worse. At the moment it finds the wireless signals avaiable to it, but when I click connect it fails very quickly. It doesn't even try and connect, as it doesn't ask me for my wireless password. When I do get it connected, if I reboot the router and mess around, it kicks me off after a while, and then instead of showing the network available to connect to, shows it with a red cross beside, and I have to go and edit the security settings, or delete the profile and try and connect again. I have tried googling, but various different searches have turned up empty handed. My desktop is running Win 7 64bitThe rest of the specs are Core i7 920 CPU, Asus P6T Deluxe v2 Mobo, 12Gig RAM, Asus GTX 670 GPU, a Corsair SSD, 2 1TB HDDs and 1 2TB one.My Windows 7 laptop connects fine, and our Media Centre PC had some problems before I was here, but works fine now too.
