View 7 RepliesI have a two RV042 VPN Router, I successfully connected the IPSEC tunnel. I cannot route Traffic in the tunnel. See the diagram.
MAIN Network
10.252.x.x
-------------->
FIREWALL
a.a.a.1
INTERNET
RV042a WANa <<------------------------------->> WANb RV042b
a.a.a.2 b.b.b.b
In this manner the network of b.b.b.b wil connect to the Main Network 10.252.x.x, unfortunately I can't pass traffic to RV042b going to RV042a. Everytime I trace the route, the traffic goes outside the Internet not to RV042a.
I need to route traffic to DMZ (and internal) from the branch office thru the IPSec tunnel. How do I manage that with my Cisco 881?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm station overseas and it's really hard to access certain websites and servie like Netflix or ESPN. What I had created was GRE tunnel from my Home "A" to my current location "B" and route my traffic from point A to B using 2 cisco 1700 routers ( and It was working great) but now I can't use GRE nomore. I still have PIX and ASA on both sides and I was trying to do that over VPN tunnel but I can't ping VPN tunnel gateway( basicly what was next hoop in GRE) on the other end ( which is the main problem why I can't route traffic to remote site). I was wondering if I can still do the same thing over VPN tunnel that I did with GRE tunnel.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have 7 remote offices and 10 tower locations that utilize IPsec tunnels back to our HQ. We now want to force all traffic including web surfing through the tunnels. What would be the easiest way to acomplish this? I have tried utilizing the crypto map policy to do this, but was unable to acomplish this.
Each of our office locationss utilize a Cisco 2811 router and the tower locations utilize a Cisco 881.
We have a VPN setup and here's the configuration on the Cisco ASA 5505: [code] The problem is that i'm able to ping the otherside of the tunnel i.e. 192.168.23.14 from the dmz IP 172.16.1.2 but i'm unable to ping from the hosts behind the ASA.Also the other side is able to ping 172.16.1.2 IP but no IP's behind the ASA.

I have a Cisco 527w which we are wanting to deploy to our remote sites however i've found a bug. We use ADSL with an IPsec tunnel as primary and 3G APN for failover . When the ADSL goes down the route via the IPSec tunnel remains and i am unable to route the traffic via the APN backup without disabling the VPN tunnel .

After upgrading the firmware to the latest version my Nortel VPN IPSEC Client no longer will work. The tunnel is connected and it passes traffic for about 15 seconds then nothing. The connection remains connected but no traffic passes cant ping across tunnel. I have checked all the settings and VPN - IPSEC - Passthru is enabled. I have put the client in DMZ mode and tried that same thing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI own a BEFVP41 v2.1. Under "access restrictions" I set days and time when access to internet it is allowed. Also applied "Website Blocking by URL Address" and "Website Blocking by Keyword" however some users are now getting access to the internet. I must also mention this settings: Firewall protection it is enable. Router DHCP it is disable and we use static IP address for the PC´S so I established IP range to apply the restrictions. I also try blocking with MAC address of the PC's.Everything else it has default settings. Internet wire goes first to the router and then to the LAN switch. What am I missing?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe X3000 functions as a router/gateway between the ADSL network, its wireless network (WPA2) and its wired network. After a cold start, factory reset and restore of the config file everything works fine. I have interconnection between all three parts of my network. However after ± 24 hour there is no connection possible anymore from the wired to the wireless network and vice versa. A normal power off - power on will not work. The only thing that works is running the factory reset procedure as discribed above. I changed the MTU to manual 1400 as was suggested on this forum, but that does not work. Apart from this issue, ADSL is hicks sometimes. From my ISP I heard that at certain times my router issues ten's of DHCP requests within one minute, while the connection (modem) remains perfect. I have the impression that after such a DHCP request storm to my ISP, the interconnection between my X3000 wireless network and my X3000 wired network is lost.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe've created an ipsec VPN tunnel between our ASA5510 (8.3) and a Pix firewall (not sure of the specific version, etc).
The tunnel works fine, except for timing at times (traffic only goes through a few times a day), and a wierd problem with all traffic being allowed even though I'm only allowing specific ports (SFTP, SQL Server 1433) from a network at the client site to a specific server in our Data center.
I was surprised that I could RDP into the server, as well as telnet any other port exposed on this server from the client site. Now as I write this i realize that I did not check whether any of our other data center servers can be reached via the tunnel.....
Not having set up many VPN tunnels before using ASA (only Checkpoint - Checkpoint before this), I'm wondering whether i need to include another rule in the VPN tunnel cryptomap to deny all other traffic from their network to our network, or whether there's a global config I need to add a rule to.
I am moderately conversant in the command line, but because of my lack of Cisco VPN tunnel experience I did use the ASDM site-to-site VPN tunnel wizard to set the tunnel up. Not sure if there were any defaults i would have to override using that method.
All of my remote sites use various routers to route all of their traffic via IPsec. However, I have one WRVS4400N w/firmware 2.0.2.1 configured with a working tunnel. My issue is I need to set the Remote Group to 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 so all traffic is forced via IPsec tunnel and not out the local gateway. When I do the error, Remote Security Group and Local Security Group cannot be in the same network. However, it works with Cisco/Linksys RV042.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco 819 router and it's the first time I've configured any Cisco product. Starting from scratch, I have managed to get 3G working and the VPN to connect but so far no packets can route down the VPN tunnel (the other side is openswan/shorewall on CentOS5).I've been pawing over lots of guides and forum discussions but seem to be a bit lost. I suspect I'm missing some access-list definitions but don't really know how to go about it. I want the network behind the Cisco 819 (10.x.x.0/20) to be able to access the internet through the interface Cellular 0 but also the VPN remote network (192.y.y.0/24)When I ping from the other (non-cisco) end I see on the Cisco 819.

I am not seeing the desired routes present.What kinds of things can I look at to determine the issue? I think I've viewed the OSPF topology database (I'm not that familiar with Brocade) with the show ip ospf routes command and I'm not seeing the desired routes there either.There is no form of route filtering in place. I'll double check, but I do not believe there is any stub routing going on either.

Got an ASA5505 Sec+ with ip 10.45.10.1 on inside interface. Firmware 8.3(1). Got another Cisco router (From my ISP) with ip 10.45.10.254 - This one creates an L2L tunnel - To the 10.45.20.0/24 net.
On the 5505 ive got "route inside 10.45.20.0 255.255.255.0 10.45.10.254 1", and trafic is being directed to 10.45.10.254 as it should.
I know cause I can ping everything one the 10.45.20.0/24 net - But thats it... Cant RDP, connect to fileshare... Nothing.
When i test a PC and set it to gateway 10.45.10.254 I can access everything on the remote network. Do I need some NAT command or an access-list? I've setup AnyConnect VPN on the ASA and I can connect to both networks without any problems.
I have my internet connection connect to my main Linksys router WRT160NL (192.168.1.1) with 192.168.1.x.My 2nd Linksys router connect to the first one as Gateway as well.The 2nd router has its WAN ip of 192.168.1.100 and it's local subnet as 192.168.2.x.My machines at 192.168.2.x can get to the internet and connect to all machines in the 192.168.1.x network.However, the 1.x network can't access the machines on the 2's network. And because of that, i can not sharing or printing between two network.I try to add static routes on my main router (192.168.1.1) with the route: 192.168.2.0 mask 255.255.255.0 and defaute gateway 192.168.1.100However, the route not work still.anyway to make sure that the 1.x network able to access the 2.x network and from 2.x access 1.x for sharing files and printing.

They're all running Windows XP. I've heard much about how intelligent devices and intelligent systems can route the traffic in the most efficient manner, but not sure how or when it works. View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm fairly new to Cisco products am in the process of developing my network knowledge on a deeper level. I have a 3825 with a HWIC-4ESW and I'm struggling to fully understand how the two "see" each other. I've setup a V LAN with a layer 3 address on the HWIC and added the switch ports to it. This seemed to allow devices connected to the switch ports to talk to the built-in router ports. I thought this was all making sense until i applied an access-list to the router port. It's a simple ACL i'm just using for testing and the only thing it does is blocks telnet from anywhere. I know the ACL is setup properly because if I connect a device directly to the router port i cannot telnet to the port. However, if i connect a device to one of the switch ports, i am able to telnet to the router port successfully.
It seems that I'm missing something with how traffic flows from the switch port to the router ports and how the two "see" each other.
I have a problem when trying to configure my wrt320n , I put in the exact same config. as I had with my wrt54g, and I do mean the exact same, even the name and all, but when I try to save the config on Advance Routing I get the message "Invalid static route", I think it's a bug
