How does the linksys WRT54G identify someone on parental block? i dont think its by standard IPv4 address.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with slow downloading and uploading on u torrent with my wired router linksys BEFSX41. I thought it may be because I didn't set port forwarding on the specific ports the u torrent use.
But every time When I try to set new port forwarding rules on my router's control panel its asks me for a password and user. Although I know this password and user it will keep asking me about them without saving the new port forwarding settings.
I'm trying to bypass the parental block on a Linksys Router. When i try to connect (i already entered the password) it just says Unable to Connect. So my question is how does the router identify my computer and how can I change it. Its usually a time triggered block. but right now its blocking me 24/7. A few people mentioned MAC address is whats filtering me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the Linksys WRT610N wireless router and would like to know if it is possible to block all domains ending in .XXX? The access restrictions let you type in a 'specific' URL, but using a generic domain name doesn't seem to work. I basically want to block all access to any URL that ends in .XXX.

I have tried adding it to the dhcp reservation table manually, but it still does not show up. There are, however, several unspecified "network devices" on the list. How can I do this?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to block Facebook on a WRT160N firmware v3.0.00. I have a successful policy that blocks edit.com for instance and attempted to add url... I don't want to add keyword blocking as multiple news articles are in regards to Facebook. We simply do not want the Facebook website allowed. I tested the other policies on a network-wide setting, applying it to all IPs successfully, added Facebook to them and it goes right around the block. My guess is that Facebook is most likely designed to make it purposely difficult to block.
I went through the recent articles in search, but they primarily dealt with incorrect application of the policy (spec'ing MAC, or IPs), which isn't the case here. Eventually I will apply the policies to specific Macs, but I want them to work first.
I have a Cisco E3000.My roommate is using our internet connection (in fact mine) to donwload on BitTorrent networks. I could block BitTorrents urls, but she could dowload the torrent file from another connection and do the download with my connection. So I forgot that way.I could also block ports... but she could change the ports of the BitTorrent network...
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been keeping an eye on my IPS report tab lately and have been watching a large number of ICMP_SMURF and DOS attacks originating from chinese ip address's. I know I can probably block the offending ip's through the ip based acl tab in the firewall settings, but I'm kind of a newbie how I can block certain ip's from touching my router?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to block two URL's over the entire network via my E4200. I'm having a heck of a time doing this, I loginto my router via the browser (the web setup) (because I think Cisco Connect on the Mac is about the worst software ever written.) And I go to the Access Restrictions page. There I understand I'll have to use the Internet Access Policy pane to make some more advanced settings than the Parental Control.
I enter a name for my rule, so far so good. Enable it. Go to the applied PC page. Open the page to enter MAC adresses and IP's. I go to the IP Address Range field and entere in the box numbered 01; 192.168.2.2 to 192.168.2.51 which in my case is the enitre network. Save the setttings and close that window.
I don't set Access Restriction to deny becasue that seems to block the entire network.
So I go the the Website Blocking by URL Address option and enter the URL I want to block.
I don't do anything wiht the the Blocked Applications since I don't want to block a specific service or application. So I click Save Settings.
And yet when I go to the URL I want to block it doesn't work! [URL]

View 2 Replies View RelatedE2000 about a years old.One of the rule is to block internet access from 1am to 4am for certain internal IPs.Working fine until a week ago. Once the time kick in, the E2000 will not route any internet access for any internal IP until the unit is power off and power on reboot. If that rule is disabled. then the E2000 will route all days and nights with no problem.Updated firmware to 1.0.0.4 already.I replaced the WRT45 because of the same problem a year ago. Now just about a year, this E2000 keeps blocking all traffic.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi want to block all internet access on all my computers from the time range of 9 PM to 8 PM. Yes, that gives 1 hour of internet access per day. However, it seems that there are certain rules of the router that won't let me do this. It seems I can't make 2 different policies for PC's within the same IP range (192.168.1.0 to 192.168.1.254) , it gives me the error: "The values you entered are invalid. Please try again."every time I try to do so. And when I try to give the time range from 9 PM to 8 PM it gives an error stating that the end time must be bigger than start time. I am using the WRT54GL with firmware v4.30.7.

I am using my wireless adapter..a Linksys AE1000..to connect to a friend's ATT U-Verse high speed internet for a few weeks. Due to a petty argument with his girlfriend..I overheard her and her friend and discovered that she had logged into the Uverse router/modem (192.168.1.254), which shows all devices that are connected. On this page it has links to access files for each device. Clicking on that, she was able to read all my files. Nothing to hide, I just don't like snoopers and even wonder if she could change settings or do something to mess up my computer. I cannot figure out how to block access by her Uverse thru my Linksys wireless adapter.
I normally do not allow any sort of file sharing and everywhere I have looked on my PC, nothing is enabled to file share or remote desktop share or anything like that. I'm not a total noob but have no clue if and how I can change this on my end so that she cannot get into my PC while I'm connected to their internet. Their router/modem is a 3800HGV-B.
Can you suggest me how to block facebook, gmail, yahoo in cisco wireless router Model No;-WRT610N version 2
