Linksys Wireless Router :: E3200 Can't Connect Wired?

Aug 31, 2012

I have an E3200 router. I had been experiencing connection problems with my desktop that was wired to the router, and in an attempt to resolve the issue reset the router to its factory defaults. Now, as before the reset, I can connect to my router just fine via Wi-Fi (I have several devices connected this way) but none of the computers that I attempt to connect via ethernet are able to establish a connection. I have tested multiple cables with multiple computers using multiple ports on the router, to no avail. When I view the Status --> Ports page on the router, I can see the ports in use that I am connected to, but that is the only sign of connection that I get.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3200 / Replacing Only Wired Device In Wifi Network

Jan 15, 2012

In the next month or so I plan to replace my old desktop PC. It is currently connected to a Linsys E3200 wireless router. I have many other wireless devices also running off the E3200, but my PC is the only wired device connected to it. When I replace the wired PC do I simply switch the new one in with the existing ethernet connection (I'm sure it is not that simple) or do I have to start over again recreating my entire network..security etc.. ? If so what is the process to start over ? Do I have to reset something on the router, reload cisco connect, create a new network name?

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3200 Slow Speeds In Both Wired And Wireless Usage

Nov 12, 2012

Why my E3200 is (for lack of a better word) "throttling" my internet speeds.I'm signed up for my ISP's 50Mbps data plan. When I hook up my laptop directly to the cable modem (via LAN cable), I see close to 50Mbps as the internet speed (measure via speedtest.net). When I hook up my router to the cable modem, and connect via LAN cable to the router, the internet speed comes down to around a maximum of 26Mbps. NOTE, that I am still talking about a wired connection and not a wireless access. Speed tests with the wireless access do yield the same results as well. To rule out the obvious, I've confirmed that there aren't any other devices on the network and no other bandwidth hogging applications running while I performed these tests.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3200 - Cannot Access Setup Page Wireless Or Wired

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3200 Wireless PC's Can't RDP To Wired PC

Aug 14, 2011

I recently had to replace my WRT54G and I decided on the E3200.  I am satisfied with everything except the ability to RDP within my LAN between the wireless and wired computers.   My setup is my primary PC is wired to my E3200 and a secondary PC and my laptop are using the wireless connection.  Both of my wireless PC's are older and are utilizing the b/g connection.  I have disabled the n connection for now.  I also have two iPhones utilizing the wireless b/g connection.

I can RDP any computer from my primary(wired) PC.  But when I try to RDP my primary PC from my wireless PC's(mostly my laptop) I can not get access.  The error states "RDP can find the computer this means the computer may not belong to the network."

Finally, I was able to RDP seamlessly between the wireless and wired PC's with my old WRT54G without any problems at all.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3200 Cannot Connect To Internet?

Dec 18, 2011

The problem I have was that last night I unplugged my router and replugged it back in. As soon as that happened, there was no connection between my router and the modem. This morning, I tested to see if it was the modem by connecting an ethernet cable from my desktop to it, and was able to get online. Then, II reset the router and a sucessful connection was made between the two. On my desktop my old network was gone, but the Cisco network was there, leading me to create a new network as if it was a new router. After setting up a new network, I am not able to connect to the internet.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3200 Will Not Connect To The Internet

Jun 17, 2012

I have a Telus Wireless modem and got a linksys router to try and expand the range & strength of the wifi. However, whenever I plug in the router and try to set it up, I can get connected to the router but no internet connection.I have tried everything I can - restarted the modem and the router several times, connected and reconnected, rebooted the whole of the router system, connected with an ethernet cable straight to the router from my laptop. In the settings, I have tried to mess around with the settings and more, and whenever I screw up I reset the router to defaults again.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3200 / Can't Connect To 5Ghz Band

Apr 15, 2012

I'm using a Linksys E3200 router with a Motorola modem and an elite xbox 360 with a wireless N networking adapter. (Black with two antennas.) I just recently bought this router because I wanted some faster gaming. I wanted to put my xbox on the 5ghz so it would have it all to itself, and have the two laptops share the 2.4ghz. But it won't let me onto the 5ghz band... I can see it on my xbox but it won't connect to it at all. I can get onto the 2.4 band but its at 802.11G, so its not even giving me N there, when it should be. I'm not sure if this is an issue with my adapter or router...I tried finding stuff about it, and it looked like people were blaming it on linksys, but that was almost a year ago. And there was never an update on what happened.I can see the 5Ghz band on my xbox (but only if the channel width is on 20Mhz only), but I can't find it on my computer. Which I find weird. I've been trying a lot of things and I just can't get my laptop to find it. So nothing is using the 5 band, and all my devices are crowded onto the 2.4...Is there some step in setting up the 5Ghz band that I'm missing maybe?

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3200 Couldn't Connect Via Wi-Fi Devices

Feb 9, 2012

I bought the E3200 to replace an older Linksys model. The older model worked but the signal was weak throughout the house. I installed the e3200 using the Cisco connect software but it told me that it wasn't sure I was connected to the internet. I wasn't. Showed a strong signal but could not connect via wireless devices or from the cable from  the router to the desktop.

I have LUS Fiber service which does not use a modem. I have had them recycle the signal several times and have done tried many different variations of the MAC numbers from ipconfig or from cloning. Have also tried it with the MAC cloning disabled so the router's MAC number is used. I have reset, rebooted and done just about every possible option.

Spoke with my provider many times and they insist they are sending me a signal. They also recognized the router's MAC number on their end.I purchased one router and it wouldn't connect, so I exchanged it. All these shenanigans I have gone through are with the second router because I figured the hardware isn't the problem.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3200 Can't Connect To Live To Test Connection

I upgraded 3 days ago from a (WRT160N ver. 1) to a (E3200) After setting it up and syncing all the devices including the XBOX 360. After signing into Live I noticed that every time I power off and power on the console it's IP address would change causing the NAT to become moderate so I went over to the Xbox360 open the Network settings and Manually set the IP address Mac address, Gateway address. Then I opened the routers settings page and Port Forwarded the correct ranges also copied the IP address I manually entered earlier on the Xbox 360. On the router side I saved the changes restarted the console and my NAT was open, but here's the Issue now when I go to sign into Live I get a pop up saying I can't connect to Live to "Test the Connection". After I "Test the Connection" then and only then I can sign into Live.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3200 Lost Internet Connect Every A Couple Hours

Dec 4, 2012

I have a Linsys E3200 router for almost a year. It's been working fine until recently. It kept losing internet connection every a couple hours or even shorter. I have to power cycle the router in order to make it to work. However, sometimes that won't work either. I also tried to restore the router to the factory default but that doesn't seem to work.

I have updated the router with the latest firmware (1.04). I am using a cable connection and it never gives me any problem if I just connect my computer to it. I also test my network with another old netgear router that works just fine.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3200 Router Can't Connect To Internet

Mar 20, 2013

I bought a Cisco-Linksys E3200 8 months ago and it worked well until last month. I usually power down the router after midnight & power up in the morning and evevry time it can connect to internet through DSL modem without problem until this Feb. Most of the time after powering up the router it just can't connect to internet anymore. I am sure the AT&T DSL modem is working. I have to reboot/reset the router & DSL modem several time to get router to connect to internet again. The order of resetting/rebooting DSL modem & E3200 router seems to make no difference. It just appears suddenly the router can connect to internet by chance. I changed router IP and it didn't work either. It's really annoying becuase I have to spend 10~40 minutes to resetting/rebooting DSL modem & router to get internet connection every day.

Connect Old Linksys Router As A Wired (and Maybe Wireless) Access Point

Oct 12, 2011

1. Just got a new DLINK Xtreme N DIR-825 Router. Directly connected this to the internet.

2. Currently, the Linksys WRT54G (1st Generation) is connected to the DLINK by an Ethernet cable to one of the 4 ports on the back.

3. The Linksys further splits the signal to another 2 computers and a NAS by hardwire.

4. The internet is still getting through to all the computers, but the computers are not able to access the NAS or each other.

5. I can't seem to open the WRT54G's access (192.168.1.1) because (I thin) the new DLINK uses a local set of IPs that are 192.168.0.1xx.

I can login to the NAS using its IP, and I can see it on the 'Network Places' of the computers ,but when I try to connect, it says the drive is moved, etc. etc.I use a variety of computers / O.S's on this system: XP (2) hardwired, Win 7 (2) hard wired, Win 7 (1) wireless, Mac OS X Snow Leopard (1) Wireless, plus various other wireless devices (phones,Wii, etc.).

NAS is a Synology DS411+

1) Get logged into my Linksys

2) Get the NAS accepted by other computers on the network.
