Do you know when will be possible to manual configure ipv6 settings? I have all parameters from my ISP but the settings on the router are only automatic and 6rd. Is it possible to enable this in future firmwares?
I even just reset to factory and loaded the 1.0.4 firmware but still persists. In the DNS setting, the wireless router adds itself as one of the DNS servers, and I can't figure out why it would do that. My DNS should come from my comcast router and not the e3200 wireless device.
Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection 2:
I have had several Linksys and Cisco routers in the past, and I'm a network engineer. My E3000 died after only 18 months so I had to run down and buy a new router, thus the EA4500.
I use the manual way to configure all my network gear. Nothing on my network changed, except the router replacement. If I leave the router default address at the 192 range, DHCP will issue a IP address. However, I do not use that range and after cdhanging the range, setting my start IP address, etc, I save everything and even tried rebooting the router to no avail. The router will not issue a DHCP addrss if you change the default range.
I can manually configure my clients with a static IP and all is good, no issues at all. I just can't get DHCP to work. My E3000 was configured exactly the same way and worked just fine, well up until two days ago.I have tried upgrading to the latest router firmware, so I'm not on 2.0.37 and I did set the router back to Factory Defaults, rebooted, then configured it, and still no DCHP.
Ok, so I recently upgraded to a Linksys E3200. I am trying to get the QoS to work properly. I know that it is supposed to prioritize network traffic, so that if I have busy traffic but I am playing an online game, it should keep my gaming from stuttering while slowing other traffic down.
The problem is that every time I enable QoS everything slows down dramatically. I had a 200MB download that was going to take 5hrs with QoS enabled, that took 10min with QoS disabled. And with QoS enabled I can't even watch a youtube video without it pausing to buffer every 10 seconds. And that was the only PC/device using the network at the time. Again turning off the QoS WMM option solved the problem. I have noticed this problem with multiple routers and brands and usually just disable QoS as soon as I set up a router, however I heard that I won't get the full benefit of 300Mbps without QoS enabled.
I don't have any special Voice over IP needs, or video streaming etc. and I rarely am using multiple network devices at the same time. Is there really any reason I should enable QoS? Also I never really play with the settings for QoS, I just figure that since it comes enabled by default it should work for the average consumer.
Can the client lease time be set to never expire to prevent loss of connection for wireless printer with a permanent ip address on E3200? Or is there another way to ensure continuous connection?
Recently, I bought the E3200, and tried to configure its ports for gaming. Yet, whenever I would hit save settings, it would say my settings were saved, then return me to the settings page. But the settings would be blank. I tried downloading firmware from the website (which should say September 28), yet it still says I am running the firmware from September 1st, even after I applied the upgrade and followed through with the 50 second reboot process.
So, I guess my final question for any tech savvy person out there is "What is wrong with my router/firmware?" I am running the browser config in the most recent Firefox on the same MacBook I used to install the router, and haven't changed any settings other than the SSID and password.

I have MR3220 version 2 and HUAWEI E398 stick. It connects to 3G/4G network, but with wrong APN.It seems to me that manualy changed APN can not be applied. [code]
I just bought a Linksys E4500. I would like some support to configure the settings regarding the 5 Ghz Bandwidth.I need to fill out the cells for Server Radius IP and port.Which are the best setting for this section?
After a successful firmware update to my router I can’t configure wireless settings because the .htm page stays blank if I back the page it comes back to setup page but any config page shows blank with no error message. I’m on a win8 64 iexplorer 10, also tried on a win7 32 IE 8,9,10.
A few months back, my computer stopped connecting to networks. Through some process or another, I ended up "fixing" it by manually inserting the ipv4 settings. Apparently that only allows it to connect to my router though, as public wi fi won't work for it. If I leave the ipv4 settings set to automatically obtain information, the computer won't connect to the network. It will stay on the "identifying network" part indefinitely. In addition, I can't connect through the modem directly either, manual settings or not.
Here is the ipconfig while ipv4 is in auto-obtain

I recently bought the E2500 Router and I am using the EA2500 Adapter with it . I have this set-up on 2 Desktop PC's . 1 Pc is working just fine with this set-up . The other keeps giving me an Error message of "Invalid Key Manual" . What does this mean ? The adapter is working because it does find the Router as a usable connection . It just isn't able to connect to it and keeps giving me the same Error message .
The device has been trying for days to auto-download and all it does is fail constantly. Saying that my connection is slow - gee, I have FiOS, I know it's not slow, maybe it's your Servers Cisco?Well, where can I obtain the direct DL link to that firmware file instead of relying on an unreliable device to get it and apply for me?
I have a 4200V2 acting as a Router and (2) more E4200V2's acting as Access Points,The E4200V2 acting as the Router is at Firmware 2.0.37, but, the other Access Points are at Firmware 2.0.36.126507 and when I try to have the Firmware Upgrade Utility in Setup update the Firmware it gives me this message:"Current Version: 2.0.36.126507Available Upgrade: Your router software is up to date"Where is the downloadable Firmware 2.0.7 located? How do I upgrade the Firmware Manually to 2.0.7 and should I ?
I have ASA5585 Firewall between my WAN Cloud and LAN Network. I plan to configure Layer 3 Vlan Interfaces inside FW and it would be Layer 3 gateway for some of Subnets. Layer 3 VLAN Interfaces are planned to be dual stack containing both IPv4 and IPv6 Address stack.
I plan to configure 6 to 4 Tunnel with my Hub Site where we have native Ipv6 awareness. One tunnel end point would be ASA and the other endpoint would be Hub site WAN Router/L3 Switch. So IPv6 traffic hitting to vlan interfaces on ASA would be policy checked and routed over tunnel interface to Hub Site.
6to4 Tunnel manual tunnel configuration on ASA. I have configured such tunnel on L3 Switch or Router with following config.
Int tunnel xyz ipv6 address <ipv6 address> ipv6 enable tunnel source <loopback address of my L3 Switch> tunnel destination <loopback address of my hus site L3 Switch/Router> tunnel mode ipv6ip end
I need to implement something similar in ASA. How can I do that?
Trying to convert a spare router (Linksys E3200) into a wireless access point toextend my wireless coverage. I thought knew how to do this but having a problem.Steps I followed are:1. Disable the E3200 DHCP server2. Change E3200ip address from 192.168.1.1 to something else3. Disable the firewall4.Make wireless settings5. Connect it lan port to lan port with primaryrouter. The problem I am having is that after I finish step 2 the routerreboots with the browser trying to access it at the new ip address. But thebrowser will not connect.I am doing this on a laptop that is disconnected from my network while I am working on the E3200. It is connected byan ethernet cable to an E3200 lan port. I also tried it wireless with the same result. Browser will not connect at any ip address except 192.168.1.1 and then only after I factory reset the beast to regain the 192.168.1.1 ip address
I just ordered the E3200. It's suppose to ship today. I know it comes with 1 USB port for hard drives. Is it possible to connect a USB hub to the router so that I can connect more than 1 hard drive?
I have been using an E3200 and it has been working great. I know have a need for wireless coverage in a distant part of my house and the current router won't get there. I also need wired in that spot of the house as well. I thought to buy a e1200 to use it as a WAP for that part of the house and also to have a few Ethernet ports come off it. Can I connect to my original E3200 wirelessly from the e1200 and then use the e1200 as a WAP and for Ethernet?
I just upgraded my router from 1.0.03 to 1.0.04, I have a few questions:After installing the firmware, I pressed the reset button at the back for almost 1mn, the power lighted as expected, I then unplug the power cord for 30 sec.The strange thing is that this did not lead to a reset of the configuration, all my settings are still here...!But the actual problem is that my internet speed is divided by two, I still have to confirm this observation on the long term.
I have to reboort my router every day to get back an internet connection? I have a desktop and a laptop plus iPads, etc. The laptop loses connectivity every day about the same time. My only solution so far is to reboot the router. I realize that the client lease time is set to 1 day by default but isn't it supposed to ask the modem for another day of life when this happens?
I'm using a DSL line that changes IP's. I have the E3200 set to auto, but everytime the IP changes, my internet goes down, and I get an ip of 127.0.0.1 on the status page. I then have to renew the ip and reboot. This happens once a day, usually.
I have a 6 year old wrt54g that is working fine but old. I want to upgrade and will go with the 3200 or 4200. I really don't need the extra features on the 4200 since everything I have is hardwired (directly to two laptops and to two switches in other parts of the house for tv and printer). I want wireless for times when we move a laptop but it wouldn't be all the time, and we won't (for now) use the media options. The difference in price between the 3200 and 4200 is less than $25 so costs is NOT a factor in deciding. So should I just purchase the 4200 since price is not a factor or go with 3200; I want the most stable of the two and will never need the extra wireless features in the 4200.
I used to have a Belkin router which was losing connectivity throughout the day for a few short moments. After looking at the logs it appears it was issueing a DHCP release randomy which explained the fault. Since it was old router I decided to replace it with a E3200. This worked fine for a few days but then I started to see similar symptions. So currently I am trying to figure out if it's the same issue as before. I tried looking for a log on the router to see if it was also losing/releasing the WAN IP, but apparently the router doesn't log it. I spoke to a tech rep on chat, but I don't think they understand what I was talking about (how frustrating). I even tried to explain it another way that if I hit the 'Release IP address' button and then hit the "Renew IP Adresss' button does this activity get logged.
Where can I find a log to see DHCP activity (on the WAN interface)? There is a DHCP log which shows all the LAN activity but this is not what I need for this issue. I find it hard to believe a mature vendor like Linksys doesn't log this activity?
House has 2 floors. I want to install 2 E3200, one on each floor, but both with the same SSID/Password, etc. so internet connection/streaming throughout the floor is seamless.
Both floors have network wall sockets ready and they all lead to the same modem/router so all devices plugged lead to the same network.
PS. both E3200 have been update to Firmware Version: 1.0.03
I have bought Linksys E3200 less than month ago.I have setup it, connected HD (WD My Book 1TB) through USB and it work good, without any problem.Than week ago, I turned off the router, because of my vacation. Yesterday, I came back, turned on the router. WiFi was working good, cable connection too. But there was no connection to HD. I had checked information about HD on admin page, router understood that it is HD, but not provided share access to folder, also, there was no button, to setup it.I disconnected HD, tried to connect it using the Cisco Connect, it provided mistake with USB connection to HD and than with HTTP connection to router. I disconnected HD, tried to connect it manually: connect HD -> go to admin page -> refresh to show HD -> admin page freeze... -> reboot of router manually.
There was a lot of tries to connect HD, but all was failed.I connect HD to computer, it works successfully.I checked connection to router through USB, using my card reader and SD flash card, it works successfully.Information about HW:
1. Linksys E3200, last update of firmware for German (was bought using German Amazon) country. (Cannot check it now, if needed will check) 2. Computer: Windows XP SP3 3. WD My Book 1TB (NTFS)
I updated my E3200 to 1.0.04 to try to resolve a wireless dropping issue. Now the connected USB storage no longer responds correctly (very delayed if connecting at all). When I try to provision new storage via the routers admin page, I do not get the permissions page.
I just picked up the E3200 and love it. This morning I hooked up my printer via the USB. Everything went smooth until I tried to print something. I thought nothing was happening, but I let it sit for a while. While I was waiting, I was messing around with my network setting in windows. I realized that my network had been set to 'work' for some reason, so I changed it to 'home'. As soon as I did, my printer spit out my test page. (probably 5 min after sending the doc.) I don't know if it was just coincidence or what, so I sent another page and nothing happened (yet).
Is this common to take that long? Is there a way to speed this up?
I've just bought a linksys E3200 wireless router and it hasnt performed even alittle up to expectations.. As above stated, the router keeps disconnecting me from the internet and i do not know how to fix it. It gets really annoying especially when i have to use the internet to do work.
