I was told i need to open certain ports to certain IP's,what ports need to be opened to what IP's for the folowing game as im close to giving up.The games are as follows - Call of Duty 4, Counter Strike 1.6 and Source, Warcraft III, and StarCraft 2
I am trying to open up certain ports to host multiplayer games on the internet on my computer and on Xbox 360.The only internet service provider is primecast. I am able to open the ports on my router but the ports still show closed using portforward.com portchecker. I disabled all firewalls and Anti-Virus, no luck. I even connected my computer directly to the modem, the ports are still closed. The Router is a Linksys WRT400N set to single band. The modem is an Alcatel although there is no model number (it has a fiber optic connection, coax connection and 2 ethernet port connections). The condo is cat 5 ready so the router has multiple ethernet cables which go to the ethernet wall plugs throughout the apartment which is how I connect to my desktop.
FYI:One of the games I am trying to play online IL2 1946, people simply cannot connect. In another game Company of Heroes, people cannot connect and I cannot connect to most games it says there is a NAT issue when connecting.
PS When I go into ipconfig I now see IPv4 and IPv6, I don't know if that has something to do with it but to my knowledge these sections were not here previously (before I moved).

How can I allow all ports to be open? I don't really want my 1811 to block any traffic. I tried the command access-list 1 permit any which allows me to surf the internet, but when I check my web server, and port 3389 (Remote desktop) on yougetsignal.com it says those ports are blocked.
The problem is I don't know what to do to open my modem's ports because every single of them except of 80 is blocked,im having some latency problems on online games etc, I asked my ISP and they didnt probably understand what the port is they offered me changing my IP to PUBLIC IP for onetime payment, seeing as they probably dont know what the port is im confused now, will the public ip unblock the other ports?
No ports seem to open up when they are supposed to be open according to the routers GUI.When i use "port checker"-websites, they even say that port 80 is closed until i actively open it in the router, then it shows up as open. This however only applies to port 80, no other ports shows as open OR allow any traffic through. The same thing happens when the router is in DMZ.What I have done so far is google my butt off without any results, I have tried a new router, a new network card, formated, re-installed windows and made sure that my ISP is not blocking the ports that i have tried to open.My purpose of opening a port is to run a mumble server, which I have run on a Hamachi VPN so far, and that has worked fine.
I can't open up any ports.I've tried using applications such as Simple Port Forwarding, PFPortChecker and manually by opening my router gateway (192.168.1.1).I can open a port, but if I check whether the port is open, it says that the port is closed. I tried opening ports through Windows Firewall and even disabling firewall, still won't work.
My reports say that my listen ports are blocked even though I removed my router already. I've enabled these ports in Windows firewall already. Why are they still blocked?
I have 3 xbox 360s in the house and im having nat trouble with them, i am currently using an actiontec pk5000, from centrylink. i need to know if there is a way to open all ports on this router or if i should get a router/switch that i can open the ports on and use dmz on the actiontec for the new router to make this work.
I am thinking about opening a port for a certain multi-player game. I was just hoping to know if opening a port for this game could leave me vulnerable to hacking or other stuff like that.
I have this problem i can't open my ports on my D-link 524, i have opened about 6 ports so that my XBOX 360 works with a open nat, i have also set the DMZ to my xbox's IP which is static btw, my PC is also static. This is how i basically tested and it told me that it was not opened. I went into:
192.168.0.1 -> Advanced -> Virtual Servers ->
Enabled
Name: XBL1
Private IP: 192.168.0.100 ( because i was testing it on the computer - if it were 360 it would be .141 )
Both UDP and TCP at port 3074
Schedule=Always
Apply -> Then restarts modem/router i waited for 2 minutes before turning them on again, i turned router on first because some guide told me to do that.
I did exactly what they did on portforwarding.com then i opened up portchecker and typed in 3074 and pressed check -> This port is NOT opened. What is wrong? This is how my net is set up.
I have a Cisco 877 connected to a VSAT modem, and I can't open ports outside, I dont know why?The Cisco 877 Fa0 port is connected to the VSAT modem at VLAN9, and the rerst of ports are connected to the local lan network at Vlan2. I can enter to Internet, but I can't open port outside. ADSL over pots is not used here.I need to open port 81 for ip address 192.168.1.130 and I dont know why this isn't working. Also if I do: sh ip nat translations I see this:
sh ip nat translations cisco877#sh ip nat translations Pro Inside global Inside local Outside local Outside global tcp 172.30.xx.122:81 192.168.1.130:81 --- --- udp 172.30.xx.122:81 192.168.1.130:81 --- ---
How do FPS's open UDP ports without needing to configure the router to forward them?I never have to forward ports from my router to my PC. Every game i have somehow manages to open the UDP ports it needs without me having to configure my router. Yet when i check to see if those ports are open (prior to starting the programs) they always come back as blocked or closed. Now I'm currently working on a UDP Internet program and need to know how to do the same thing - open ports on a router without having to make the customer configure their routers. I'm THINKING that other programs start with a TCP/IP connection on the desired port and that opens the UDP port. Is this the answer or is there another method used?
by saying "open ports" in a router or PC or other Network System what we mean basically? what is opposite terminology, "closed ports"?-used or unused-sensitive-vulnerable or non vulnerable to attacks-exploited easily and when so may attacked and have much bad/serious consequences/results
Been trying for hours to open the ports on a motorola 2210-02-1022. I have a linksys wireless router. I think the default IP is 192.168.0.1 I put this in browser and get a user name and password window. What do I do from there. I have the port numbers from xbox.
why I cannot get any of the standard ports open on my computer. I have run ESET firewall/antivirus, but have it temporarily disabled. I have windows defender disabled. I have the correct ports open/bypassed through my linksys router, but still am having network trouble.

My company deals in a video conference software which requires certain ports to be open to work correctly, including tcp and udp ports. Clients who want to test / purchase have different kind of network setup. I usually tell them to open those ports require by the software on their end. How do i ensure if the port range required by my software is open once I am at their location. I have installed a few network scan tools but not sure what ip do i scan. Should I scan my server's ip once I am at their location and connected ? or should I scan their gateway ?
I have been trying to host games for some time now with no luck. I believe it is because i cannot open the proper ports. I own a Linksys BFSR41 Ver. 4 router. I have been trying to open ports, testing them on a port checker website and they are always listed as closed. I have followed the guide on portforward.com perfectly with no luck.I have disabled Block Anonymous Internet Requests.I have disabled my Windows firewall, and AVS. Still cannot open ports.I have also updated to the latest firmware. I am using Win-7 x64.
How do I open all the ports for ALL of the ips on my dedicated server. I opened all the ports for the main ip that I RDP (Terminal Connection) into, but I can't seem to open the ports for the other ips that I got from my dedicated server provider.
I am trying to Open some ports on a Linksys E1000. When I run the Shield Up test to see the status of my ports the ones I want to open are closed which is normal but when i try to portforward any port the status goes from closed to stealth. That really does not make any sense to me why when trying to open a port it becomes even more secure then if I did not try to open it. I turned off the firewall and the only thing I see might be the wireless security on the router. I have no idea what that means tho so idk if it is even a firewall.
I am considered as a novice when it comes to networking, modems/routers etc.I have a Belkin Modem/Router, I need ports TCP 80, 2300 and UDP 2310 I think to be forwarded so I can play a certain game online (Age of Empires 3). I have tried DMZ mode for my pc and I can play the game online but only with DMZ enabled. Just some extra info.Belkin Modem/Router model : F5D7634-4A-H v2 (on the device)F5D7634-4-H v2 (01) (on the online settings (192.168.2.1))It has the latest firmware as I have clicked on the firmware update and it says "There is no new firmware update available for this Router!"
A year or so ago, when Verizon was my ISP, I ran a Minecraft server with a Hamachi VPN. I had looked into forwarding ports at the time, but decided to go the VPN route because I wasn't completely sure how to assign a static IP to a computer on the network. I had absolutely no issues setting up the VPN or hosting a server on the network.Recently I decided to give port forwarding a go again. I successfully assigned the static IP and put the port number into my router's port forwarding settings, but the port was still closed. I tried using online port checker tools and having friends try to log into the Minecraft server. No luck. After reading multiple port forwarding tutorials to make sure I had everything correct and double- and triple-checking all my settings, I began to suspect that something else was causing the problem. I have an older router set up as a repeater on the network so my family can connect to the Wifi network from anywhere in our house. Thinking maybe the repeater or even the main router itself was to blame, I decided to try another router. After disconnecting the current routers and setting up a spare router I had, I tried everything again. Still no luck.
I tried opening different ports unsuccessfully. No port I tried opening would work. I decided to give in and just set up Hamachi again, since that had worked flawlessly before. However, after setting up a Hamachi VPN, I realized people could join the "room," so to speak, but could not connect to the VPN itself. Even hosting a Minecraft server over Hamachi wasn't working this time.Assuming it was just an issue with Hamachi, I tried another VPN software. I got the same error - people could log in, but not connect to the VPN. Thinking back to the port checker telling me port 80 was closed, I pretty well gave up.I've walked one friend through setting up a VPN the exact same way I did, and it worked on the first try. I walked another friend through assigning a static IP and forwarding ports. I don't know what's different about my network that won't allow either of these things. I've searched my router's configuration for any setting that would override port forwarding or block a VPN, but I can't find anything.
cant open the ports 2300 -2400 (udp, tcp)on router. What I do isthe following.
1. Open ports on router in port forwarding.
2. Add the triggers as well in APPLICATION RULES with the ports. Triggers are 47624 and 6073.
3. Try both Dis and Enable UPNP. Even try the DMZ enabled settings.
4. Disabling firewalls on Laptop and router. Try both ways on DMZ's(enable and disable) settings on router. Check everything.
Still when I check on websites about the ports and they are shown closed (NOT STEALTH). Router uses a firmware 4.0. I have a windows 7 64 bit system. I use wireless.
Note: All the steps are performed in a combinations manner to see if there is any possibility of opening ports.
I need to open ports 25, 993, 995, 443 and 465 to setup MS-Exchange. I don't have an inhouse IT guy and this seems pretty straight-forward in theory but I can't figure it out I need to open ports 25, 993, 995, 443 and 465 to setup MS-Exchange.
I'm setting up a second exchange 2010 server at a DR location and have been experiencing some problems. The two sites are connected via a pair of ASA5510's using the point to point VPN. I want to rules out any possible VPN issues that may be blocking ports and wanted to see if there is an easy way to do this and simply allow all traffic without any restrictions between the two ASAs. I've attached the scrubbed configs here...Ewing is the primary site and DBSi is the DR site.
I am pretty new to Cisco - and I have a little 506E that I love. I got it working with my first scenario where I have one server that is my web, and e-mail server.I also opened the RDP port so I can remote into it. The IP's for the old server are internal 192.168.1.23 name ferbweb-external 71.12.111.219 name ferbwebpub. Now - I need to add another server in the exact same way with the same ports 80, 25, and 3389 open to the outside - IP's internal 192.168.1.31 name ferbmail and external 71.12.111.220 name ferbmailpub.I can get to all of these ports on the new server on the inside network - so that is not the problem. So, I went into the config, copied the statements for the old server, and changed them for the new server and added them to the config. I can still get to the old server from the outside fine, but cannot get to any ports on the the new server from the outside at all.I have done a lot of research, and cannot find what I am doing wrong.
normally i have no trouble opening serten ports for gaming purposes but now i just cant seem to get them open
if i do hyperlobby: (begin: 20999 ) (end: 21001 ) protocol: ( both) on my current ip address and select the active square
it should open port 21000 right?but if i check in game, it wont open, and if i check on internet for port checks it also says timed out, for some reason it wont open this port, also other game ports wont open anymore, not sure what router i got but i think this is the model : WAG120N
