Routers / Switches :: Port Forwarded But Still Says Blocked On Checking Sites?
Apr 6, 2012
i have been trying to forward port 25565 for a server on a game called minecraft. I have a bt homehub 2 and i have followed everything on portforward.com and on several videos and still no luck. I have B.T net protect plus so I don't know if the firewall is blocking the port
I am trying to create a server in a game called Minecraft. I have forwarded port 25565 (which I put in the server settings for incoming connections and I checked that 10 times so that is ok) on my thomson TG787. I've opened the same port on my firewall in windows 7. I've disabled my firewall completely. But it's still blocked. It's simply doesn't work..I'm 100% I fixed it on the router.
I am trying to create a server in a game called Minecraft. I've opened the same port on my firewall in windows 7. I've disabled my firewall completely. Everything should be cool, but still, checking with canyouseeme.org and asking friends to join. It is still blocked. It simply doesn't work.. I checked my router for any firewall but couldnt see any.. So yeah I'm 100% I fixed it on the router, unless someone is gonna tell me that there is still an option in the router that might fix it.. but I think I did something wrong in the firewall..Although I have been trying to get this to work all day.. I'd rather get some advice on the firewall or other options in my router. Btw, I am using AVG free edition, and I am pretty sure there is no firewall in that version, but there might be something I have to disable in order for this to work ?
Vlan 10 is the management VLAN, and it uplinks to our border router.Vlan 20 is the workstation VLAN, and all workstations point to the switch as their default GW? Vlan 30 is the ip phone VLAN, and all phones use this as their gateway.
I would like to put a LAG between said switches, we have some servers on the ip phone switch that need to be accessed by the workstation clients, and the single 100mb link through the router is probably not going to be enough. As I understand it, because the switches have different networks on them, a simple lag will not work. I did create a lag, and assign ip addresses to each side, however in that mode, it doesn't appear I can block vlan 10 from transiting the LAG, and with out that block I will end up with a logical loop, and spanning-tree will block one of the uplinks, or the LAG itself.
We are upgrading out internal office network. I have setup 4 switches and 1 router using the following config.
-2 SGE2010p's are stacked together forming vlan 30 (to be used for phones)
-2 SGE2010's stacked for workstation's under vlan 20
Both switches are apart of vlan 1 (the default)Ports 1 on each stack are connected to a Cisco 890 (port fe2 and fe3) in trunk mode. Ports 2 and 3 are in an LAG group and connected to the neighboring stack (I have attached a diagram), and are also in trunk mode). At this point one port (port 1 on either stack) goes into blocking mode, and I get why ,it's a physical loop.I need more than a 100mb link between switches (which is what pulling the LAG between switches gets me), but I don't want to route phone traffic through my workstation switches to get out of the LAN.Is it possible using these switches and router to have a LAG between stacks and a link to the router for traffic to 0.0.0.0 ?
Does the Host file allow connections to your computer?Although I have placed some server names into the host file, Wallwatcher 5.0 is indicating that those servers have made connections. This didn't seem to be a problem before I took some online advice to add servers to my host file. I use iptables on a WNDR3700 router with DD-WRT firmware. In the iptable rules I've also blocked these servers. One example is cnbc7.net and a couple of U.S. Akamai servers.
We are having a workgroup of 12 Pc connected using a switch (hub) having all Windows XP SP2 and some of them registered Kayspersky antivirus 2011. We have internet access using D-Link 2460T (DSL wireless ADSL router) connected to our LAN using a network wire and having DHCP enabled. Everything was working well for 4-5 years but recently a problem appeared.
i've had my netgear wireless router for about a year now.i went to facebook and i recieved a message on a red and black screen t hat said this site has been blocked by netgear fire wall. i've never changed any of my setting since i got this router so i'm not sure why all of a sudden certain sites have been blocked.. i've tried logging into my account to try to change my settings using my default username and password but it keeps saying that i dont have access.
I have a Netgear wnr3500 for my home network. I have certain sites blocked from inside it, for instance.I even blocked it by exact url. Still gets through then blocked yahoo.com and it was immediately Netgear blocked. It seems this site is fooling my router.
when my Linux VM is running! How's this for a mystery - last night I noticed that I could no longer access my gmail. Thought it might be down. This morning, I still couldn't access it. Thought I would try comcast, no joy either. Changed computers, no difference. Changed routers, no difference. Bought a new router and started plugging in network cables one at a time. My main machine first, everything works - http and https sites, a second computer, all good. The switch. Fine. Powerline. Still good. Then I plug in a Windows server running a Linux VM. Https sites on all the other machines stop working. Pause the Linux VM, restart router - https sites return to life. Went to Linux machine, re-enabled ipv6 (the only recent change on the Linux machine was to disable ipv6 since upon a reboot, Linux didn't have an ipv4 address). Restart Linux everything seems fine. A few hours go by, try to connect my wife's new laptop and at that moment wireless seems to stop. Restart router, wireless is back. But lo and behold, https is gone again. Unplug the machine that has the Linux VM, restart router, all is good.Ever see anything this weird?
I'm trying to set up a website filter on my DIR-601. I created a policy for 2 MAC addresses, with a schedule from 10AM-6PM, selected "Block some websites", and disabled logging. Under website filter, I added some entries, and selected "DENY computers access to ONLY these sites". When the policy is enabled, and I try to access one of the blocked websites, it gets blocked correctly ("The URL access was denied by administrator.") However, for all other websites, I get "server unexpectedly dropped the connection" errors, eg "Safari cant open the page [URL] because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again." or in Chrome "No data received. Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data." This happens with ALL non-blocked websites. I'm using hardware version A1, firmware version 1.01NA.
What am I missing - can't get my new SG 200-08 Switch to handle Jumbo Frames
I have set the MTU size to 9216, saved the conf. and rebooted the box - however when I try to "ping -f -l 8000 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" through it (or to the switch itself) I recieve only "Request timed out"!?
I have tried MTU=9000 as well.....
F/W: 1.0.1.0
Is there anything, apart from increasing the MTU size, that needs to be done?
i'm trying to use VNC as a remote desktop i was told to forward port 5900 in order to connect. but whatever i do i still an error saying that the port is not forwarded..Connection test failed.VNC Server appears to be behind a NAT router with IP address x.x.x.x. You will need to configure that router to forward port 5900 to this computer before you can connect to VNC Server over the Internet.as you can see here the port is forwarded to the server computers local IP.i have no firewalls active, and no anti-virus software that could be blocking VNC.
I have a western digital USB 2tb drive. It works great on my intranet (my laptops and other devices can access it). I have a sticky Ip address and would like to be able to access my drive from my work, but I don't know how to set up or if it can be set up to work. Can the USB be port forwarded? I have the E3200 router, Windows 7 OS (if needed)
I have a webserver running and have port80 open to recieve requests. Every once in awhile the router randomly disables this port from being forwarded. It is only this port none of the other ports I have open are disabled. I tried switching the server to another port but had the same problem.I have assume its some kind of security feature, since the server gets many requrests that it shuts down the port?
I have a linksys E3000 and a WD My Book World Edition 2. (WDMBWE2)What i want is to access my WD from any where. I have tried setting up a simple single port forward to the WDMBWE2, which worked great. I was able to view all my files from anywhere.however, i wasn't prompted for any login.so basically anyone could access and modify all my data.I have obviously deactivated this again.
I have already tried setting up user accounts on my WDMBWE2 to try and solve this, but that only creates the problem of my TV and music player not being able to access it anymore(they both cant type in login information). Is there any way to make the E3000 prompt me a for login/password when requesting that port?
setup a web server at home but just found out yesterday that my ISP is blocking port 80 on my network and they won't open it unless i upgrade my internet service... which i am not sure if there is any other way get this solved. If I port forward my site at my web server to (let say) 85, when someone type [URL] (with 80 by default), will it be somewhat in the cloud or some server to NAT 80 to 85 at my site? In short, can one type [URL] instead of [URL] ?
I have a home server running CentOS 5 and is accessible over SSH (port 22).When I am at work I am behind a firewall that blocks all ports except the ones needed. So port 22 is blocked to the outside world. Is there a way for me to get an SSH connection to my server? (ie: SSH tunneling or so?)by the way, websites with advanced web based SSH javascript(s) such as serFISH are blocked as well.
I'll try to keep it short. On this Games For Windows Live game (Dawn Of War II) I can connect to and play on the internet just fine. Enabled port 3074 and 88 so that GFWL wouldn't have any problems connecting to my computer. Port 3074 has an issue however. With the PortForward testing program (Open Port Check - PortForward.com), whenever I check port 3074 outside the game, both UDP and TCP show green and are forwarded correctly. However when I'm in the game, alt-tab, and run the test again, it shows UDP red after testing, indicating it's not forwarded correctly.I think I know precisely what the problem is; either something in GFWL or the game itself is blocking port 3074. But why it's doing this, and how to find out what it is, I really have no idea.
Our company bought a Cisco 2960-S to add to the network, We gave the interface VLAN 1 an IP address, and tried to attached the switch to a jack port on the wall to test if it gets a link or not. The status of the port blinks amber and stays contionous amber, I have searched the manual of the switch and it says that amber means that the port is being blocked by STP.
I have followed directions and forwarded the two ports to the local machine. I looked in the router setup to find my current public ip address from Comcast say its 98.221.99.99. If I am on the same network as the machine that is receiving the port forwards, and I type http:// 98.221.99.99 in a browser, the forwarding works fine.If I am external/not on the same network, typing http:// 98.221.99.99 in a browser times out. I have tried http:// 98.221.99.99:9000 too (9000 is the port I need forwarded) and that doesn work either. But, I do have remote management enabled for the router and if I am external/not on the same network and I enter http:// 98.221.99.99:8080 in a browser, I get the router login screen and can enter my user name and password and login to the router just fine.
I am trying to open port 12000 on my sky dlink router, been trying for a few days now and i just can't nail it. When i log into router, it brings up the sky router page, any one ever setup port 12000 on the sky router page.
I have set my Netgear WGR614 to a static IP, and I have tried port forwarding but I can't. I've tried disabling SPI Firewall and it still don't work. I have also tried enabling bridge settings on my connection in my modem settings, but that just wouldn't let me back on my internet. How I can port forward?I have a westell 610015.
I have a Modem/Router combo and am trying to plug an 8 port switch directly into it and then have wireless AP's and other hardwired devices plugged into the switch. Normally, when I plug a switch into a router it requires no set up. This one on the other hand, will not work.
ISP Cable in Smart box. 4 cat 5 cables from various rooms in house to feed cable ready TV's and one from my computer room. Can I connect all cat 5's to switch that is connected to cable modem located in Smart box and connect Wireless Router to cat 5 in the computer room and expect router to work properly?
I have just upgraded my AIM and Skype messengers and now it won't let me sign in. I did before with my old versions. It is saying that my internet connection is bad which it is not. I have looked up ports in my Yahoo messengers, Control Panel and Bit Torrent still nothing.
