I have a problem with my thomson tg585 v7 router wich is that I can't gain access to it, each time I enter the default username and password (admin ; admin) it automaticly brings me back to the previous page.
A Thomson TG585 v7 (Modem + WiFi Router) receiving a DSL connection and Providing internet access on two interfaces connection : 1- WiFi : to connect portable devices at my home. 2- 4 Ethernet ports : to connect my desktops. One of these ports on my Thomson is connected to a D-link unmanaged switch to provide extended wired connections. From this unmanaged 4 ports switch one port is connected to my neighbors in another building through UTP, and connected to a D-link DIR 605-L WiFi router, the IP address of the DIR 605-L is 192.168.1.77 and the IP address of my local Thomson is 192.168.1.254 which means they are in the same network. I need to access the DIR 605-L WiFi router from my my home where I am connected directly to Thomson router through UTP cable, I am not able to do that !! , while also I can't even ping the DIR 605-L IP 192.168.1.77.
I have a "Thomson TG585 v7" router I reset it and the default username is "user" and password is "admin". So after the restart I want to configure again the router so I click the "Set Up" option I click "Next" and then show me to enter again the username and password but they are not the same as the router username and password. What can I do?
I have an issue with my home network that is really stressing me out now. I have a Thomson TG585 v8 router that my laptop, iPad and iPhone connect to no problem but my iPad/iPhone won't talk to my laptop.. I want to be able to use my iPad to remote in to my laptop to watch movies etc. Network sharing is on the laptop and I've checked that all devices are on the same network..I can't ping the iPad or iPhone from the laptop either.
My old router recently died and my ISP was kind enough to offer this Thomson one free. But ever since I got it, my PCs cant see each other on the homegroup. They can all get onto the internet - and by using programs like Dropbox or Teamviewer I can share info from one to the other- but I'd like to get my homegroup working again, Both my PCs are running Win 7, connecting wirelessly to the network. When trying to tracert from one to the other it gives this message: Tracing route to GLaptop.lan [192.168.1.79] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 GDesktop.lan [192.168.1.82] reports: Destination host unreachable. The problem persists when firewalls on both PCs are disabled, and I've attempted to delete the homegroup on both PCs and re-create it.
I have Thomson Tg585 v7 router, when trying to add new game application to set the ports for GW2 my router just restart by it self, and i can't add the application even if i do it fast it won't take any name i try for it,even tho i did add ports for BF3 like 2months ago and it worked fine.
I connect to the internet through a Thomson TG585 v8 modem. When I log in to the modem's IP (192.168.1.254?) through a browser, I only get one task available, that is "Check connectivity for this internet service". As far as I know, I should have some management options, like for example to block websites, to limit internet service for certain devices etc... Does anybody knows why I don't have these options? Could it be a restriction from the Internet Service Provider?
My isp seems to be using a Transparent DNS proxy and I tested DeleGate on a windows PC and opendns works but I would like to set my router to forward all 53 udp to 5353 udp on to 208.67.222.220 so that opendns can work on ipod, ipad and smartphone etc, I have tried to use the following command to set the router to forward from port 53 to 5353 but no luck:
I have a difficulty finding password TG585 u8 PSTN. The router works for my laptop, now I need the password in order to use my Kindl and cannot find it.
i have configured my wireless router. But im having problems. I can connect to the the internet using a lan cable which is connected to the router. but when im using the wireless connection i do not have internet connectivity.
I have cable internet with 12 Mbit download and 1.25 Mbit upload speed. I'm using Thomson TGW850-4 router and I'm sharing the connection with my brother. Each of us have our own PC, of course.
Problem is, my brother downloads torrents while I play online games which completely screws up with my ping (from 40-80 to 350+) which makes them pretty much unplayable.
Is there a way to split the connection in two so that each of us gets 6 Mbit download and 0.625 Mbit upload at all times so that his torrents don't interfere with my online games?
Our ISP provided a Thomson dwg855 at installation of our service. We need greater coverage. Is is possible to use the output port on the modem to connect to a wireless router or other wired device?
I currently have a Thomson speedtouch router that i have yet to connect to my pc as i am waiting for the adaptor for it.I use AOL adsl line aol have goiven me instructions to connect the router to my PS3 either wireless or ethernet cable.I go through all the instructins but when i finally check connection it finds ip address but the internet connection has failed ie timed out 80028E02?
I have a thomson speedtouch ST585 router hooked up to my DSL line. I am trying to replace the wifi AP of the thomson with my linksys router (running dd-wrt). So far I have connected the linksys router (from the internet port) to the thomson router, and turned the thomson's wifi off. But, now I can't connect to the internet though the linksys router...I have tried disabling DHCP with no success?
Update:I can now connect to the internet through the linksys router, the problem now is that I cannot access the linksys's routers setup page. I can access the speedtouch's though.[URL] I would like to be able to manage all the forwarding (and the ip's) though the linksys router NOT the thomson (I want to make the linksys router the core router). I just need the thomson for my DSL line, I don't want it to do anything else but provide internet to the linksys router.
AOL are a complete waste of time and space in my opinion as for one you cannot understand what there tech support is saying and even when you email there tech support they seem to answer with a totally different answer to my questions.I have just installed a pci card ethernet connection on my pc windows xp now all I want to now do is connect and configure my router on the internet, I currently use aol dial.bb broadband adsl connection so far there are no connections from the router connected to my pc as i am still using a bt voyager 105 modem. When i did connect the ethernet cable to my pc and into the router also i connected the adsl cable into the back of the router but aol have not explained how to connect to the internet to configure this router and get it to work.
I have a Thomson tg782, with a USB port on the side. I want to plug my sub modem internet into that usb port, and then share that connection over wifi, because the router has a wifi function.
I used to have a Thomson st-330 USB modem for my ADSL network. When I wanted to change my IP i just disconnected and reconnected a dial up connection that does the job instantly! (a wan miniport + a batch file to disconnect/recoannect with my password and username)Few days ago i bought a new modem/router (TP-LINK TS-W8951NS)Before that all I knew was that if I wanna change the ip address (if I have a router) was a batch file with commands ipconfig /release/renew.I now know that this changes the ip of my PC not the global IP! So how would I change it without restarting the router? (When i change something in my router interface page (PVC1.2.3....etc) my IP changed instantlybut how do I do this without accessing the router, like commands and a batch file etc? I just found out that my global IP changed on its own after like 30-60 min :S why is that! and to do so manually???
I have a Thomson TG784 router and i have a problem with it. once i turn on my rouet, and no cables are plugged in, except the power one, the two lights start blinking. The Power and the Ethernet ligh blinking. Once i connect my Ethernet cable and my DSL cable, the light are still blinking with no changes... What should i do?
I'm trying to setup a Canyon CN-FW514 wireless router through a Thomson modem. When I first started trying, I could get up the set-up screen on [URL] however this is as far as I got; the laptop said it had a very strong signal with the wireless connection, but I could not get any web pages to open (windows explorer couldn't detect any problems either). The Thomson modem works when I conect it to the laptop via the ethernet cable, but that's not much use to me trying to use the internet elsewhere in the house!I tried changing the IP address, subnet mask and gateway IP address on the set-up screen [URL] which seems to have been a big mistake; I now can't even get the set-up screen to appear.I've reset the internet options and have set everything to obtain the IP address automatically but am still having no luck.
Five months ago we moved into a new apartment, and connected up our broadband; the ISP provides a Thomson Speedtouch modem (ST546 v6), which I understand from Tech Support is running software v4 (it was issued with V5, but rolled back to V4 for stability issues). We prefer a WiFi network, so purchased a Belkin N Wireless Modem Router (F5D8636-4 v2); I connected it up ditching the ISP issued modem, and all worked well for four months. Suddenly it refused to see the ADSL connection - orange light flashing. So after four nights of 'fault resolution' with Belkin, they decided to send me a replacement... which I finally received last night. It didn't work - same problem, flashing orange light.I have the correct user name and password for the ISP - checked it not once, not twice, but four times. The Thomson Speedtouch works, but doesn't provide a WiFi environment. Can I connect the Belkin modem router into the back of the Thomson and transmitt/carry the WiFi signal that way, and if so, how? I tried (the obvious to me) plug a ethernet cable from the Thomson modem into the Belkin, but nothing.. I'm guessing there are a few important steps I missed.
I'm trying to create a VPN through a Cisco 861 but the problem is that the ISP forces me to use a SpeedTouch gateway ( as they use the MAC address for the authentication).By now, i'm getting OK pinging from client to 192.168.254.1, but I can't reach Internet. If I connect the client directly to the Speedtouch internet works properly. [code]
So I used to use a Thomson TG585v7 modem router (wireless) as my means of connecting to the internet, the aerial cracked on it and I began getting dropped connections, so I went out and bought a D-Link DSL-2730B modem+router. I am hooked up wirelessly to the internet as there is no phone jack in my bedroom, and I experience massive and prolonged lag while playing call of duty 4 multiplayer, which I never had before with my old Thomson modem. My ping also shoots up to about 400 and then 999 while I teleport around the map.
The problem i'm having is that i'm using a 100gb capped internet plan, but after 1-2 weeks it gets all used up. After checking to see who's accessing the internet there's 2 unknown mac addresses who are constantly accessing the internet. Whenever this happens, the internet becomes considerably slower (i'm guessing they're torrenting or downloading off our internet).
I've even tried changing the wpa password but they're somehow still accessing the internet. So i've been looking for a way to ban mac adresses but i can't seem to find the option on the router.
Here's a screenshot:
YES, i know there's an option that says "Allowed on WLAN", but i cannot un-check the box for some stupid reason.
I really don't know what to do! Is there some kind of command i can type in the command prompt or something to ban mac address manually?
Ok I know you have had this question asked before but I think mine is slightly different. So, I have my Thomson wireless router for 2 years now and I've been using it with no problems at all. Suddenly I got dissconnected two weeks ago and it would not let me connect with anything. I could SOMETIMES see my home network in the list but I couldn't connect to it, although I could easily connect to other wireless networks. I tried reseting the router, changing the encryption to WEP and all that few days ago and after several tries I managed to access it (I don't know what happened) but after less than a day the same problem occured and since then I've been trying to reconnect. Yesterday I took it to the local ISP representative and he "fixed" it although I'm sure he just reseted it and changed the ancryption type and the WPA-PSK encryption key(something which I did MANY times before). When I came home I had the same problem with a slight improvement, now I could see my network in the list of wireless networks at all time. When I try to connect, the window "Windows can not connect to .....Diagnose the problem..." pops up.
It automaticly connected few times but once I tried opening the router access IP or any other webpage it just disconnected me. I tried accessing the network with my mobile(wifi) phone and I still couldnt, which made me think in the beggining that the problem is not in my computer. The router is close to my laptop and my laptop is working just fine and can connect to other networks. I've never had such problem before and I'm using the router for 2 years.
I installed the thomson router, the process was sucessfully completed however the laptop could not automatically renew the IP address and the DNS server address???
I have a Thomson TG789vn v2 router and a weird way ISP (ASK4, UK) wants me to use it. They are telling me to connect their cable to Ethernet 1 slot and disable DHCP on the router.
When I do that some magic happens and the router no longer shows up in my Ethernet connection details, instead there is a 10.x.x.x address, I can no longer access neither the router nor the network share I had on it, when I try to ping either of those I am getting a "Destination host could not be reached" reply from the 10.x.x.x gateway. ISP also requires to register every newly connected device under my account on their portal. When I plug their cable into the WAN port I end up on an error page on their web server when I try any kind of connection. So how do I go about it to have my network share working?
I've noticed recently that my laptop keeps disconnecting from the internet via my router (Thompson Speedtouch ST585v6sl.)The light on the router that shows the connection turns red or sometimes it doesnt light up. However all the other lights stay on, it's just the internet light. It only happens for around 5-10 minutes and then after troubleshooting, disconnecting and reconnecting it's back up.I've scanned my computer for viruses and malware and nothing has come up, this is happening reguarly now about every 30-45 minutes when i'm on my pc.
I purchased a computer which has a GA-B75M-D3H motherboard in it.I have been attempting to connect it to the internet with little success. I have a Thomson TG782T modem hooked to the computer by ethernet cable. The computer does not recognise the modem and the modem does not find the gateway on the computer. I have discussed the problem with Telstra and as far as they are concerned its not their problem due to the cable showing green and amber light into the back of the computer and the modem is working. The computer guys are saying that the computer is fine as they utilised the net to load the computer.
I have a home network with 3 machines. In switch mode "residential gateway" I can connect to MySql on local network, but not remotely (internet). In "cable modem" I can connect to local both network and Internet, with the MySQL server, but I can only use one machine on the network.
I have opened port 3306 in Windows Firewall and the moden-router and redirected to the IP of the machine that has MySql Server. I have dynamic IP, but my ISP gives you the same IP by sector, so I can do testing.
How to get my connection to work well on local network and the Internet, using the mode "residential gateway"?
Life was great with my DIR-615 and Motorola Surf Board SB-5100 cable modem, but my D-Link refuses to recognize the Internet signal from the Thomson. The Comcast guy spent an hour trying to get it to work, but I'm stuck watching MLB.tv on a 24" monitor in a stiff office chair in my study, instead of on a 47" LCD in my living room. How can I force the DIR-615 to accept the Thomson ACG905? If you advise me to check settings or manually change them, please do not "assume" that I know how to access those settings.
