Toshiba Satellite Laptop Won't Connect To Internet?
Dec 21, 2011
I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop....Model PSLB8U 0D8038. I have a "Clear" (Brand name) wireless router internet service. I have having a problem connecting to it or any neighborhood routers. The network satellite is picking up the routers in the area but won't connect to any. When I hit windows network diagnostics, it is saying cannot be repaired automatically.
How to get my computer to work. Nothing that i've tried has worked. I've tried uninstalling Norton, typing cmd into "run" and using winsock and config/all. At this point I have no more ideas on what to do.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L745, just a few days ago it stopped connecting to the Internet it still connects to the network but not the Internet. It's done this before but normally all I have to do is reset the router. I have tried everything I know ( which being a teenage girl isn't much) and nothing seems to be working. Also as far as I know the computer does not and has never had any problems with malware/viruses n' that stuff.
I just removed some viruses from a laptop and I also did a system restore on it because it wouldn't start up right. Now I can't connect to the internet on it. I have a desktop and four other laptops that are connecting fine. I can't connect with Ethernet or wireless. It just says identifying and when I run a troubleshoot it say "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings". I have already try many things, disabling and enabling adapter, uninstalling it, downloading drivers, and I try some cmd stuff that I found looking around, but nothing is working. I'll take any suggest gladly and retry stuff I have tried already. It is a Toshiba satellite L305D-S5974 with windows 7 home premium. If you need anymore info on it just ask.
I recently installed a new router, TP-Link, and have security set for WPA2-PSK. I am able to access the internet fine with two Dell laptops with XP, and the Wii to play Netfix movies. The Toshiba computer with Vista says it is connected, but I can't access the internet. When I change the network setting to unsecured I can access the network fine. The Toshiba laptop is set to WPA2-PSK when it does not access network successfully.
When I connect to my home network, I get 'No Internet access.' I am running windows 7 on a Toshiba Satellite laptop. I should also mention that my Xbox 360 won't connect either, but both of my friend's laptops as well as my phone do connect to our internet. Also, using my phone as a wifi hotspot works intermittently.
When I do ipconfig /release it says the following:
An error occurred while releasing interface Wireless Network Connection : An address has not yet been associated with the network endpoint.
No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has its media disconnected. When I do ipconfig /renew I get:
An error occurred while renewing interface Wireless Network Connection : unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out. No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has its media disconnected.
One friend brought over his Toshiba Satellite so I could connect it to the internet with a 3G USB modem... I know the basics about networks, since I run the networks in the businnes I'm working... But this computer is strange... Once I connect the modem and the drivers are installed the computer shows that it has a internet connection, and I can PING websites in the CMD, but entering any browser programm, I can't browse and it doesn't conecct to Itunes store if I enter Itunes; which means that the internect conection isn't complete or something I have tried EVERYTHING but haven't been able to do anything! I can't get any other proof that the computer is connected to the internet than to ping adresses!
my Toshiba satellite won't connect to the internet. My wireless internet connection is excellent, all my other computers are running. I have turned the computer/modem & router on and off and still no avail. I have used the windows network diagnostic, and it comes up with router/broadband modeum be preventing internet conncection, automacically get new ip setting for the newtork adapter wireless connection, reset the network adapter wirleess network connection. I have done all 3 and it still won't connect.
A few weeks ago my AC adapter for my toshiba satellite laptop quit working so i had to buy a new one. upon arrival of my new adapter, it seemed like i couldn't connect to the wireless internet at my family's house which was working fine for the home computer. I tried to get on the internet in an airplane and I couldn't connect. All of these wireless connections are working fine and no other computer seems to have the same issue. whenever i try to connect to a network in range or my home network, it says that i only have limited connectvity. I have tried posted resetting commands in the comand prompt and then rebooting but it still says I am in limited connectivity.

I'm looking at a friends laptop as he said he'd started having problems getting on-line. I've tried it at my home and it briefly worked before it stopped again. It won't connect to my wi-fi or connect via ethernet to router or even straight to the modem through the ethernet. It's a Toshiba L540-D running windows 7It did initially have a few viruses and a couple of Trojans which i have cleared.I have a dlink router which it recognizes and is showing 'connected to' but its also showing 'unidentified network' and 'no internet access'.
My Toshiba will not connect. I keep getting cannot connect to server messages. Also get the error 623 message. Im not sure what to do. I use Windows xp on it. Bought it in 2006. I had thought about reseting it to factory settings but I never made restore disks and cannot find the toshiba reset stuff.
I have a Toshiba satellite L305D-S5900. It will recognize and connect to wifi networks at starbucks, libraries, etc. but I just got cable internet at my house. Set up the modem (standard motorola cable modem) and router (Netgear Wireless-N 300, WNR2000) correctly and they are working fine on my girlfriends laptop and ipod touch but my computer will not connect to the internet. When I try to connect it pulls up the network and says that it successfully connects but there is no blue dot on the icon that shows a real internet connection. If I pull up the network/sharing center then it shows Local Only access and says I am connected to the network, but not the internet.
I've tried all of the troubleshooting things that the system goes through and even reset the IP addresses to match the router and still nothing.
i always use to use my ethernet cable to hook up to the internet. now when i plug it in, theres no connection and it doesnt even notice that the cable is plugged in.
I am trying to connect my Toshiba Satellite A205 to wireless internet through Comcast. It says its connected but only locally and will not let me surf the internet. Every other wireless device in my house connects to the same wireless I am trying to connect to, but my laptop won't.
I'm having to use my desktop because my laptop(Toshiba Sattelite...runs on Windows 7) now has NO CONNECTIVITY. It goes from "Limited" to "No" connectivity. I have it hooked directly up the router now and NOTHING. I'm not sure of what to do. The command prompt doesn't work. I typed "ipconfig /all" then the next command was "ipconfig /release" and I got three lines of errors. DHCP is enabled only under the "I-E NIC" Everywhere else it is not enabled. When I hover my mouse over the bars at the far right of the status bar it says my wifi name and under it says "no internet access," HOWEVER, when I click on it...my wifi name is at the top and it says in bold letters CONNECTED.
I recently moved and my Toshiba Satellite laptop won't talk to my NetGear router. On the phone with NetGear for hours - tried everything - but tech says the problem is with the laptop and somehow the "Wireless Zero Configuration" tab in my Services is not there? I can connect through the router with my IPOD and Dell laptop.
I have a Toshiba Satellite M70-122, running with Windows XP. A few weeks ago, it stopped connecting to my wireless, but it connects to others. I can connect to my wireless with my cellphone, so it might be a problem with the laptop. And I can connect to the internet with the cable. It's just the wireless that doesn't work.
I'm having trouble getting my laptop to stay connected to my wireless internet. This problem only occurs with my laptop (other laptops in the house are able to connect no problem) and with this particular wireless box (my laptop has no problems connecting and staying connected to other wireless networks, wi-fi, etc.).
I am able to connect to the wireless but it lasts only for a few minutes before connection is lost, so I basically have to connect to the internet through a ether cable (?) plugged into the wireless box.
I can't work out where the problem could be as the wireless works for other computers, and my computer works with other wireless networks!
I don't know if it matters but I am using a Toshiba satellite running on Windows 7.
So I have a Toshiba Satellite L555D-S7005. When I put it into Hibernate mode (I dont like turning it off, takes too much time) it paralyzes my whole wireless network. It makes it so that anybody else on WIRELESS gets disconnected, and cannot reconnect easily (they must restart the router). This gets very irritating when my brother is on the X-BOX/Laptop and he cannot continue playing games or whatever. If I disconnect my laptop the network goes down for them, but not for me. I can log right back on and connect with no problems. The wired computer has no problems with internet when I turn off my laptop.
My Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop has suddenly stopped detecting my wireless network. IT detects every other network in the area but mine. Other computers in the house have no problem detecting and connecting.Wireless is enabled, it happens no matter how close or far from the router. The network is set to broadcast the ssid, etc. I have not changed any settings on my laptop or router, this has suddenly started happening. Have updated drivers to no effect.Occasionally, the network pops up when I re-start the laptop. Rarely works and sometimes it will detect the network, then fail to connect, then the network can't be detected at all.
I have a Toshiba Satellite T110 laptop, and I've recently completely wiped the hard drive, with the OS (Windows 7) being wiped along with it. Anyway, I got a new CD for Windows 7 which was burned however, And once installed, I saw I couldn't find any wireless networks at all. It's like as if it's one of those old classic computers that didn't have wireless. So I bought a Windows 7 CD key online from my iPad. But I couldn't use the product key without Internet, so I did the activate by phone thing. After that it said windows has been successfully activated. Which I don't believe it has anyway. Could any of that possibly be related to my problem of not finding any wireless connections? My laptop was perfectly fine before wiping. my network card adapter thing is an Atheros AR8132 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS)
my wireless connection has stopped working and won't repair itself.I have uninstalled it and rebooted my laptop (as suggested in a previous thread) but it's still not working. I have a Toshiba Satallite Pro L300 laptop.I went to the Toshiba site to find a download for the wireless adaptor but couldn't even find my model number on their system. I can get on the internet by plugging directly to the modem, and my internet provider suggests it must be the adaptor. I'm too scared to randomly download stuff from internet in case it is rubbish and mucks up my computer.
Since yesterday evening, my Toshiba Satellite Laptop (L505D-ES5025) hasn't been able to register my wireless network, though it registered it perfectly fine yesterday morning. I can only detect the local area connection, and can only connect to the internet via the ethernet cable (which is what I'm using right now).Even when I go to the "Change Adapter Settings" from Control Panel, it won't detect the wireless network that I use. The other computers/laptops in the house work, but this one can't regiester to it, even though it's the closest to the router. When I troubleshoot the problem, the only solution is to use the ethernet cable, but I can't depend on it since the whole point of using a wireless connection is to go wireless.I have tried the Control Panel solution of going to the device manager, but I can't find the wireless network from there. This Toshiba computer also doesn't have a physical WLAN button; rather hot keys are used (though when I use this, it doesn't anyways).I also tried to find the drivers for it to update, but those won't either update, or they do update but nothing happens. In other words, I can't do anything because my laptop can't find ANY networks whatsoever except for the one that is found after I connect it to the ethernet cable. My OS is Windows 7, 64-bit Home Premium.
I bought a new Toshiba Satellite C660 laptop with Windows 7 on Sept 1st, and had no problems at first with the mobile broadband. However, on Monday 13th I noticed massive spikes in the data usage. After browsing the internet for around an hour I decided to check my usage randomly, and it was at 350mb!Since then, there's times when I don't even have my browser open and in the space of 5 minutes it will reach 150mb of usage. There's also times when it works absolutely perfectly for hours on end (including today, where it was working fine up until around an hour ago!) I phoned the mobile broadband company twice last week, the first time the person told me that it was a computer issue and to go to an IT repair place.
So after sending him screencaps of Windows task manager processes/applications/network he can't see anything that could be doing it. He advised me to do a full antivirus scan, and full malwarebytes and ad aware scans and they've all come up clean. The second time I phoned the broadband company, they told me that there were some wrong settings, and that they've been changed now but if I have any more problems to ring customer care again. So after seeing an offer with a different mobile broadband provider, I decided to buy a new broadband stick and change networks in hoping that would solve the problem.... it didn't.
So there's definitely something about the new laptop that's causing the data usage to spike I don't use any torrent programs, and haven't been watching youtube videos constantly or trying to stream online, like I said there's been times where I don't even have Google Chrome open and it's using up all my data! I don't use Skype or anything like that either (to be honest I have barely any programs on this new laptop)I've turned off all the automatic updates for as many programs as I think can have them. Ii's definitely improved a bit though, but there are still times (like around an hour ago) that the data usage starts spiking randomly.
I am trying to set up a static IP address for my Toshiba Satellite L350 Wireless Laptop on Windows 7. My Broadband is on TalkTalk (UK) Huawai Echo-Life HG520b. I tried many sites but it never seems to work.
