Wifi Gets Limited Connectivity And Freezes When Troubleshoot

Mar 5, 2013

I'm having a really annoying problem which is making my laptop almost unusable and a hassle to use. My wireless network adapter will suddenly get "limited connectivity", won't connect to the internet but will still get the router.Disabling and then enabling it will cause my computer to freeze, requiring a hard restart. The same with troubleshooting. The only thing which fixes this is a fresh reboot, however it then occurs again within the hour.

Samsung RV511 (i5) notebook from around 2010
4GB RAM, Intel(R)Core(TM) i5 CPU M 480@ 2.67GHz

Came with Windows 7 64bit installed, issue began on this.I installed Windows 8 64bit Pro a month ago, did not reset settings. Problem persists

Broadcom 802.11n wireless network adapter
Device ID 4727
Driver date: 13/03/2012

It's the latest driver. I keep uninstalling the driver and installing random ones from 2006, 2011 etc however the same problem persists.

Wifi Network Adapter Randomly Gets Limited Connectivity And Freezes?

Apr 25, 2013

I'm having a really annoying problem which is making my laptop almost unusable and a hassle to use. After a while of my laptop being on, my wireless network adapter will suddenly get "limited connectivity", and won't connect to the internet.Disabling and enabling the adapter will cause my computer to freeze, requiring a restart. The same with troubleshooting. The only thing which fixes this is a fresh reboot, however it always occurs again within the hour.Sometimes the entire adapter will randomly just disable itself, and the computer will completely freeze, meaning I have to press the power on/off. Sometimes the adapter will just disappear from Device Manager. Searching for "plug and play" devices will cause it to freeze.

Apart from having to reboot, what also seems to work is disabling the wifi from PC Settings, putting the computer to sleep, then awaking it and turning wifi back on. I've had to do that 6 times whilst typing this post.I've tried flushing my dns, registering it, renewing and releasing. Assigning a static DNS address. All those things. Though I may have done them wrong.Operating system: Originally came with Windows 7 64bit installed, issue began on this.I installed Windows 8 64bit Pro a month ago, did not reset settings. Limited Or No Connectivity With Wifi Using Windows Vista

Dec 30, 2011

I am trying to connect to the internet using both wifi and wired directly to the router and keep getting the same message "limited or no connectivity". It will see all the available wifi networks, and will even connect to the network, but no internet. I have used google and tried several solutions but to no avail. Also, just fyi, i currently have my desktop hardwired to router, and another laptop, ipad, ps3, wii, droid bionic and a couple of netbooks that all can connect to the router using wifi with no problem what so ever. I have also tried to connect to other networks with the same results. There are 2 network adapters, a broadcom netlink (tm) gigabit ethernet and a dell wireless 1397 wlan mini-card. Here is the ipconfig/all.

Limited Connectivity Ms Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter

Dec 28, 2011

I have created a virtual WiFi hotspot in win 7 laptop with following commands. netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=wii key=abcd1234 Now there is a 'Wireless Network Connection 2'(MS virtual WiFi miniport adapter) in my network connections. netsh wlan start hostednetwork WiFi hotspot started and visible in my other wifi device. But the device shows limited connectivity and i can not use internet not even local access to laptop.

My observations - I found that the IP address and DNS of WiFi miniport adapter is 192.168.11.1 But the IP assigned to my other device is 169.XXX.XX.XX which is not in same subnet

So how to set the WiFi miniport adapter of my laptop to assign proper IP address(within subnet) to my other device. So that i can get rid of LIMITED CONNECTIVITY ISSUE .

Wifi At Home Not Working Anymore On Laptop / Local Only Or Limited Connectivity

Nov 6, 2012

The wireless Internet at home is not working on my laptop anymore. It's working fine on my mobile as well as with other wireless networks at school for example. No matter what browser I use I usually dont get to any website. Most of the time it says access: local only, or local and internet, or limited connectivity. If I'm lucky at the right time I can open a website but then it's gone again.

Limited Or No Connectivity XP SP2 / SP3?

Jul 23, 2012

I have been having some gripes with the above problem for the past few days, connecting several PCs in my office into a network. To cut a long story short, it's a bunch of XP SP2 and SP3 machines with only some of them having these issues. The network consists of two switches and one router with integrated modem and wireless. Internet access is established over that router/ ADSL modem.I have drawn out all the cabling and made all the connections myself, I don't doubt network related hardware one bit. Basically, I had the problem on two PCs, I tested connectivity on that cable with a laptop which didn't have any problems connecting to the network. All the cables are brand new, "straight" connectedC

Hub To PC Limited Or No Connectivity

Sep 9, 2011

I manage a small office network IP's are generated via a rooter. I need to add a new pc to the network and here is where the problem starts.I have a cable from a HUB in that office which has a splitter 1 way goes to a PC the other is empty. At first i tried connecting the other PC from that splitter but i get the Limited or no Connectivity message on both PCs. If i connect only one of them to the splitter the connection works fine. Now i tried with a HUB, made a Crossover cable from the splitter to the HUB in the WAN port, same deal both PCs get Limited ot no Connectivity. THe strange thing is that if i connect only one via the HUB the same thing happens.I am really out of ideas, my only option left is to connect the PC from the main HUB which means allot of cable posing.

USB adapter. The computer does have connectivity if I plug in an ethernet cord from the router. Worked fine, fast, was able to install Sp3, etc.I can't get the wireless to work. I get excellent connection strength, but can't actually do anything with it.Since this is XP and I haven't messed around with XP network settings for years, I think I got a bit rusty and spoiled with Windows 7.

Limited Connectivity In Windows XP

Oct 23, 2012

My desktop PC ran Vista Home Premium and about over a year ago, suddenly developed the dreaded, 'Limited Availability' connection error when I tried to connect via ethernet cable to my D-Link dir 615 router.I have tried all possibilities (detailed in the other forums I have posted this issue in), like all the ipconfig commands in the CMD prompt, rebooted modem and router and pc but still getting this issue. [codde] As you can see - the Belkin wifi dongle connects fine, with an IP address of 192.168.0.101, however, the SiS191 ethernet controller (which has current and up to date drivers) refuses to connect and gives an IP of 169.254.241.0.I have also tried copying the settings from the wifi dongle and manually entering them for the ethernet connection but this also does not work..I don't think its an issue with my router as I also have a laptop, connected via ethernet, which works fine. Also have 2 iPhones, 1 iPod, 1 iPad, Xbox and Wii which ALL connect to the same router (via wifi) without any issues.

First I have the xp3 so my recovery disk from Toshiba some of the stuff is outdated. I installed intel chip-set, intel proset(my wireless) , wireless LAN, oh the stuff that have to do with wireless and still doesn't work. This is what happens, proset finds the router tries to connect and it says limited. I tried repairing it but nothing works. P.S. the stuff that are outdated are like the QFE ( those are a lot of files in my Toshiba recovery and every time i try to install them they don't work they say that the system I am using is better than the stuff i am trying to install)(QFE is also just the name in front of the file and there is at least 25+ , don't know why it is QFE)

Get Limited Connectivity (Wireless)?

I recently moved into a new apartment and when I connect to the router using the wireless. I get limited connectivity, it accepts the security key but can not get the internet. Connect wirelessly to another router within range and can connect to the internet via that. Also if I connect a ethernet cable to the router it gives me internet access. I couldn't see any settings in the routers menu that would prevent me from connecting(but im probably being blind).
