I am trying to connect my LED Samsung Series 6300 TV to the internet. I have Samsung wireless LAN adaptor WIS09ABGN inserted into TV and I am using LINKSYS wireless home router WRT12ON-CA.

I read in the user manual that it is best to turn off the router when not in use for better security measures, but there in no power button on the router. So does this mean that the power cord would have to be unplugged from the electrical outlet each time to turn the router off? This is kind of inconvenient, especially where my cord is plugged in. Also would unplugging it from the outlet each time, would this mess up the settings on the router? Is it really necessary to turn it off?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was given this router (it's my 3rd one) and cannot get the reset button to reset the password. I have run throught a 30/30/30 reset as well as just holding the button in for the standard 30 seconds.
I know the router works, as in i can ping it. It asks for a password when i go to 192.168.1.1, but *blank* and "admin" do not work. When i click the cancel button it displays a pink(salmon) screen that says "401 Unauthorized Authrization required". (all of this is when i am connected to it with an ethernet cable to #1)
When it's sitting there it has an led lit over power and one ove wlan which flickers from time to time.
It used to work, but just stopped. We have tried to reeinstall but it won't recognize the adapter. I cant click the next button to continue installation. I have changed USB ports and restarted the computer. I have unstalled Norton 360. But it still won't install.

I don't know what that did but I've been completely shut out of my connection ever since and I don't know how to fix it. I tried doing the install sequence of the router just now (Clone MAC address, then release and renew DHCP, power cycle modem, router, and PC) but it still didn't work.

I ran Linksys setup disc and it said I was all up and running, but still cant get online with my laptop through the router.I am at a point where I have my default gateway address 192.168.1.1 and my IP address, but not sure what to do with that to get this issue corrected.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a BEFSR41 ver 4.3 and I upgraded my firmware to 2.00.4.8 from within the router. Had a problem with the flashing power light. Resolved the issue after reading another post on this forum using the TFTP utility. Now, however, if I go into either Port Forwarding or Port Triggering and change anything, there is no Save Changes button to click on in either page. They are missing. If I click away, or close the browser and come back, all changes I made are lost. I have tried reloading the firmware at least four times. I've powered off, pressed the reset button and any combination of these that you can reasonably think of. The buttons are gone! I have tried accessing the router from both IE and Firefox, accessing the router from all the machines on my network, to no avail. Everything was working fine before the upgrade, of course. The router does not have the option to save the old firmware before any upgrades are made. The original firmware has been overwritten so I can't go back to it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust installed windows 8 on this laptop, everything is working fine, it has all the drivers etc. It does not seem to be picking up wireless for some reason. When I press the quick launch button for wireless absolutely nothing is happening, however it can pick up internet with the ethernet cable from the modem. Had a read of this and tried to install the FSC Launch Manager from the Fujitsu website still to no avail. Cant be the operating system either as it the same problem arose when i install a version of xp yesterday.

The orange light turns blue. Even though the light indicates that my wireless is on, I have to go to device manager>networking>802.11n>advanced then activate my radio for my laptop to pick up the wireless signals. The problem is that I have to do this every time I turn on my laptop, and its getting quite repetitive.

Bought the Zyxel Wireless Range Extender to get wifi in farthest rooms in my house but set up is not working because BT have disabled WPS button on Home Hub 3 with my Infinity. Therefore they suggest I try manual set up. This requires browser wtih IP address 192.168.1.2 for Zyxel wireless extender WRE2205, This gives no result (page does not load in IE).

The wireless adapter settings page has an entry for 'PIN' and 'PBC' for WPS.Selecting either always results in the client station requesting the routers pin, indicating that the pushbutton selection is not working properly.The router was doing this with the version of hardware that it was shipped with. i have downgraded to 120522 and the router is behaving exactly the same.Has anyone successfully configured the router for pushbutton connection? do not suggest that we use the pin setting as we have a requirement for dumb devices to connect to wireless and they only support pushbutton connection.
