I have a Netgear wnr3500 for my home network. I have certain sites blocked from inside it, for instance.I even blocked it by exact url. Still gets through then blocked yahoo.com and it was immediately Netgear blocked.It seems this site is fooling my router.

I created a policy for 2 MAC addresses, with a schedule from 10AM-6PM, selected "Block some websites", and disabled logging. Under website filter, I added some entries, and selected "DENY computers access to ONLY these sites". When the policy is enabled, and I try to access one of the blocked websites, it gets blocked correctly ("The URL access was denied by administrator.") However, for all other websites, I get "server unexpectedly dropped the connection" errors, eg "Safari can�t open the page [URL] because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again." or in Chrome "No data received. Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data." This happens with ALL non-blocked websites. I'm using hardware version A1, firmware version 1.01NA.

I installed wireless controller with 4 APs and controllers sees all 4 APs. Controller is also DCHP server. When wireless client authenticates it's DCHP requests in not getting to DHCP server (controller). If i connect all equipment in non managed switch everything works.

I've been noticing some inconsistencies and weird behavior in my home wifi setup. I'm starting to suspect some kind of serious security issue.Periodically, the router (netgear wnr3500) will become unresponsive and not allow anyone to connect, requiring a reboot of the router. I assumed this was typical death by summer heat.
Recently, I've started noticing that my laptop is connecting to a similarly named wireless network that's unsecured. So, if my ssid is "bobsmith" this would be identified in windows as "bobsmith 2". I thought this was a windows bug, but I suspect windows is automatically connecting to a name and not a sensible unique identifier, despite it being aware that "bobsmith 2" is different so as to rename it.
Today, I was wrestling with my wireless bridge and determined that it wasn't connecting to anything. Refreshing the available ssids, it found "bobsmith 2" (unsecured) instead of "bobsmith" (wpa) - which it is set to connect to.
I need to make this connection to be able to operate a Enphase Solar electricity inverter reporting system.

I also have wireless security cameras and several laptops on the same connection. I occasionally have audio dropouts I suspect due to wireless bandwidth limitations. I have a Netgear WNR3500 Wireless-N Gigabit router that I would like to hang off of the Verizon router and move the Airport Expresses, which are 802.11N capable, to its Wi-fi connection. This would keep my audio streams separate from the video and other wireless traffic and take advantage of the 802.11N.I in configuring the router/s to facilitate this arrangement. I have numerous Windows machines (XP and Windows 7), mostly hardwired, on my main network along with a NAS containing my audio library. So all devices need to be able to see all other devices.

I'm trying to configure hairpinning on my Cisco 887VA VDSL router, so all LAN users can connect to the server using SMTP port 25 which is also in the same LAN subnet, using external router address, which is assigned to dialer1 interface.Traffic comming in from outside works fine.
External IP: 1.1.1.1/29
PC address connecting to the server: 192.168.101.28
Server address: 192.168.101.200
IOS: 15.1.4M1

I'm running tcpdump on the server on port 25 and... nothing happens. The traffic is not going through.One thing that I've notices in debug ip packet is this line:
s=1.1.1.1 (Vlan1), d=192.168.101.200 (Vlan1), len 52, rcvd local pkt
shouldn't source be internal vlan1 IP - 192.168.101.1?
On my home network I have two computers:
PC#1 - my main computer
PC#2 - my laptop
Each of these has Windows 7, Avast! Anti-VirusToday I was working on a website on PC#1. When I attempted to upload the files via FTP, the connection failed repeatedly. When I went onto PC#2 it worked first time.I also tried to launch World of Warcraft on PC#1, this failed. It worked first time on PC#2.Websites work fine, so port 80 appears to be okay.I have reset my router to factory settings. ipconfig /release /renear /flushdns all made no difference.
I can get to anywhere I want on the web except one IP, and I can't ping it either. What can cause this? (Security off)...

I read the other day that I can connect to my home internet from here and have my computer behind this firewall just use my home internet connection.
For some time, I cannot access some websites. It gives me a 401 the web site is blocked by the administrator. I use a d-link router and my brother is the administrator. He told me he hasn't blocked anything. We tried to reset the router but it still gives me the 401 problem.I think it isn't a router problem. I have also tried to erase all the cookies and cache. The problem is still there. How can I fix this? My operating system is Windows XP Professional version 2002 service pack 2.
