Port 80 Is Blocked By ISP?
Jan 11, 2013setup a web server at home but just found out yesterday that my ISP is blocking port 80 on my network and they won't open it unless i upgrade my internet service... which i am not sure if there is any other way get this solved. If I port forward my site at my web server to (let say) 85, when someone type [URL] (with 80 by default), will it be somewhat in the cloud or some server to NAT 80 to 85 at my site? In short, can one type [URL] instead of [URL] ?

I have forwarded port 25565 (which I put in the server settings for incoming connections and I checked that 10 times so that is ok) on my thomson TG787. I've opened the same port on my firewall in windows 7. I've disabled my firewall completely. But it's still blocked. It's simply doesn't work..I'm 100% I fixed it on the router.

I've opened the same port on my firewall in windows 7. I've disabled my firewall completely. Everything should be cool, but still, checking with canyouseeme.org and asking friends to join. It is still blocked. It simply doesn't work.. I checked my router for any firewall but couldnt see any.. So yeah I'm 100% I fixed it on the router, unless someone is gonna tell me that there is still an option in the router that might fix it.. but I think I did something wrong in the firewall..Although I have been trying to get this to work all day.. I'd rather get some advice on the firewall or other options in my router. Btw, I am using AVG free edition, and I am pretty sure there is no firewall in that version, but there might be something I have to disable in order for this to work ?

Oct 20, 2011I'll try to keep it short. On this Games For Windows Live game (Dawn Of War II) I can connect to and play on the internet just fine. Enabled port 3074 and 88 so that GFWL wouldn't have any problems connecting to my computer. Port 3074 has an issue however.With the PortForward testing program (Open Port Check - PortForward.com), whenever I check port 3074 outside the game, both UDP and TCP show green and are forwarded correctly. However when I'm in the game, alt-tab, and run the test again, it shows UDP red after testing, indicating it's not forwarded correctly.I think I know precisely what the problem is; either something in GFWL or the game itself is blocking port 3074. But why it's doing this, and how to find out what it is, I really have no idea.

Apr 15, 2012The problems looks like this: I'm able to browse the web without any problems until at random points of time - might be 2 hours after I turn on my PC or 5 or even half an hour the port 80 gets blocked - actually more like it hangs it self. As whatever I try to open i get "waiting for response" going and going. It's not even returning "page not found" error or anything. To top everything all other ports work fine - i can use https, ping run tracert - no problem there.
I've spend two days looking for some answer on the web but came up empty. I've scanned for malicious software with ad-awar and malwarebyte anit-malware - nothing came up. After restart of the pc everything comes back to normal but its frustrating needing to do that every now and then.
My home network looks like this: I have some broadband modem that is connected to local wifi TP-LINK router (Model No. TL-WR340G/TL-WR340GD). There are four devices using this connection - two pc's (laptops), android phone and android tablet.

Jul 21, 2012We are upgrading out internal office network. I have setup 4 switches and 1 router using the following config.
-2 SGE2010p's are stacked together forming vlan 30 (to be used for phones)
-2 SGE2010's stacked for workstation's under vlan 20
Both switches are apart of vlan 1 (the default)Ports 1 on each stack are connected to a Cisco 890 (port fe2 and fe3) in trunk mode. Ports 2 and 3 are in an LAG group and connected to the neighboring stack (I have attached a diagram), and are also in trunk mode).At this point one port (port 1 on either stack) goes into blocking mode, and I get why ,it's a physical loop.I need more than a 100mb link between switches (which is what pulling the LAG between switches gets me), but I don't want to route phone traffic through my workstation switches to get out of the LAN.Is it possible using these switches and router to have a LAG between stacks and a link to the router for traffic to 0.0.0.0 ?

Jan 26, 2012We have a Cyberoam CR15wi hardware firewall at my company and it seems to be interfering with FTP to our website. I won't go into precise details but Filezilla, Dreamweaver 5.5, and GoLive CS's FTP utilities all will put a file up onto our web hosting company's server then indicate that the server didn't send a response so it assumes the file never got there. The file does in fact get uploaded intact though so it seems the server's response itself is the thing that's getting blocked. This problem occured with two different web hosts and FTP works perfectly with the same software and same FTP settings from my home connection so it's definitely us.

Oct 16, 2012I've been trying to open ports 5800 and 5900 for UltraVNC and checking them with online port checkers, but they are always listed as closed. I've even tried taking town windows firewall, my router firewall (although as soon as I disable and apply, it automatically switches back to enabled again), and also DMZ'ing my router. I wonder if it might have something to do with my new modem, but in the config page for that, the advanced settings are locked out. the modem is an arris TM722G, and the router is a linksys wrt-54G with DDWRT firmware.
I'm running windows 7 x64 and using a static local IP, I want to be able to use DynDNS to connect to UltraVNC.

Though your server had open ports, we were unable to connect to any of them successfully. There is a high probability that some type of firewall or scan-detection software is blocking us from accurately scanning your server. Please configure any firewall or software that would interfere with our scans to allow all traffic from SecurityMetrics" Our streaming video server is our only public-facing server that has port tcp/udp 1755 open (for the mms protocol). All our other servers behind this firewall pass the test, but they only have standard email and http ports open. I am assuming that their scan of port 1755 triggers some sort of threat detection on the ASA. (I have "Basic Threat Detection" enabled only.)

Also, configured manually we have the same issue: We can access to the portal using IP address of Lan interface but not with outsides (2 ISP). The clientless VPN is enable on the public interface and no packets rejected in logs.We try to modify the Crypto map created by default to replace "any" to "any" by "any" to "our public IP" (We see that is recommended by Cisco) It works for 10 minutes.(strange..) but after 10 minutes the active member crashs.. only a reboot with previous configuration was good.We try to investigate but each time we modify Crypto maps, the firewall is going bad.

Nov 7, 2012I have an ASA5510 with 8.3 and a Cisco PIX525 (retiring). The ASA was for VPN traffic only while the PIX was for all other Internet traffic. I'm trying to move all the traffic to the ASA5510 so I used the PIX to ASA migration tool. I migrated the PIX rules over to the ASA5510, however we can't receive email and there is no external access to our internal websites. But the VPN connections remain intact and internal users can get out to the internet.
When I run Packet Tracer on my outside (incoming rules) the packets are dropped at the inside interface. What am I missing?

Jul 23, 2012I've just bought a ASA 5505 to project my LAN. I've already use Cisco router in the past but it's the first time with ASA line.Everythings work except one major point, the return traffic is blocked by the system… I don't really understand how the zone based firewall is supposed to work but it seems OK by default, my LAN side is allowed to talk with the Internet but Internet is not allowed to directly call my LAN. The NAT is setup to use the IP of my outside interface.When I try to ping a public server, the ASA debug log show me that the communication can go out the network, with the good translation, then go back to the ASA from the public server and here, the ASA block it because the communication is not allowed.I've only found two workaround:
-allow inside trafic with static rules, and I say NO ;
-disable the zone based feature by settings all zone to the 0 level…
How I'm supposed to make my state-full firewall work with zone based feature?

2 SGE2010's with VLAN's defined as 10,20 and 30
Vlan 10 is the management VLAN, and it uplinks to our border router.Vlan 20 is the workstation VLAN, and all workstations point to the switch as their default GW? Vlan 30 is the ip phone VLAN, and all phones use this as their gateway.
I would like to put a LAG between said switches, we have some servers on the ip phone switch that need to be accessed by the workstation clients, and the single 100mb link through the router is probably not going to be enough.As I understand it, because the switches have different networks on them, a simple lag will not work. I did create a lag, and assign ip addresses to each side, however in that mode, it doesn't appear I can block vlan 10 from transiting the LAG, and with out that block I will end up with a logical loop, and spanning-tree will block one of the uplinks, or the LAG itself.

Here is the configuration on a 5505 with 8.3,So I would have thought the outside access-list should reference the 'mapped' port but even with 3398 open I cannot remote desktop to the host. If I open 3389 then I can connect successfully.

and here is my dilemma.
I can SSH from the internet to my ASA on default port 22, directly to my public IP. I can SSH from the internet to my Cisco 1841 on port 2001. I can not however, SSH to my Cat 2960. From what i can tell, on the Cat2960 i can't change the default port 22 for SSH to different port, just like i did on the Cisco 1841. I looked to see if I can change the default port for SSH on he ASA, it does not look like this is an option.
The bottom line is that i want to be able to SSH to all three devices from the internet. I only have one public IP. As of now, what i can do is only SSH to the ASA on default port 22 directly to the public IP and Cisco 1841 on port 2001. It appears that changing the default SSH port on Cat 2960 is not an option. It also appears that I can't change the default SSH port on the ASA, if i could, i would and then i should be able to SSH to the Cat 2960 on port 22. No matter what i did on the ASA, it always listens on port 22 for SSH connections.
