View 8 Replies View RelatedMy wlan card has been dodgy recently disconnecting and reconnecing but now does not work at all. It is no longer shown in device manager I installed the drivers for it from the disc that came with it and ones from the internet but no luck from what I've read online it says my laptop (advent 9617 - ancient i know) came with the Ralink RT73 USB Wireless.
It also keeps popping up "this device can perform faster is you connect to a high speed port" I took off the casing to have a look at it and I can't see any dodgy wires or connections unless its somewhere I can't see or get to. I just took it out and put it back in but no luck.
I can still get on through wired LAN but live in shared accomodation and it's a bit inconvenient when I'm trying to work. Oh and there's no router problems as my phone and housemates laptops connect fine.
my wireless connection suddenley stopped working, the light no longer turns on and the wlan is no longer an option in the vaio smart network folder, its completley disapeared, i can only connect to the net via ethernet cable now

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony Vaio Laptop VGN-NS20M and have rebooted it as had a few issues with it. Now the internet drivers have disappeared from device manager. The only thing there related to the internet is under modems. Which has nothing to do with the wifi or the ethernet port.So cannot connect via wireless or the ethernet. Seems strange both have failed. There is no ? or yellow! there, as there is no devices there.I have tried the drivers from the Sony website but they just do nothing, and the troubleshooting from the network icon just says Windows cannot find a driver for your network adapter. Its a dual boot laptop with Vista and Win7 and have the same issues on both OS.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to have an HP Pavillion p6340f desktop computer, and then I decided to build my own. I moved the parts I'd installed in it over the years to the new build, plus the wireless card that came with the Pavillion. Strangely, with the same drivers and setup, the card refuses to find any WiFi signals - not the one it was connected to prior to the move nor the other networks around the area. Changing the drivers, uninstalling the device, rebooting - nothing will work. The symptoms are exactly the same as when I moved the card to another slot on the Pavillion.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI had to send my HPg61 laptop in to check out a heat issue a few months ago. When it came back, I got a headphone jack issue (now resolved) and a Wi-Fi problem - I used to have great wifi from my bedroom to my parent's study which is where the modem is, even when I did have the heat issue, but when I got it back, that all changed. From my bedroom, my laptop would say "no connection detected" and had a red x over the wifi icon in the taskbar, but would have good connection if I were in the living room with it. This didn't last long - one day, the icon turned into a computer with a red x over it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was trying to fix a diagnosis error under my Internet Connection stating your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding. I thought maybe going to Device Manager while showing hidden files selected then go to non plug and play, and then I deleted NetBT, and then a PC reboot. I was very wrong because I have no Internet, and honestly, I only have one PC.I have Windows 7 Home Premium Anytime Upgrade that I bought. It's a 32-bit OS.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just recently got the internet and I have a desktop computer that has ever rarely been used and it has never had the internet on it. I called tech support of my ISP to see what many be the problem why I can't connect to the internet and found that the source of the problem was I do not have a LAN network connection. When I open Network Connections on the computer, nothing is there. I also went to device manager and there is nothing there for Networking. Under category of "Other Devices" in Device Manager there is a question mark next to "Ethernet Controller". Are there drivers or something I need download to fix this so I can connect to the internet via a DSL connection.

I would like to use the Cisco ATA 186 as a SIP device with Cisco Call Manager 7. However, I have found that the SIP firmware for the Cisco ATA 186 is unsupported by Call Manager 7.Therefore, In order to use the ATA as a SIP device with the Call Manager, I believe I will need setup the ATA as a 3rd Party SIP device by doing the following:
1. Disable the TFTP option within the ATA, so that the SIP firmware is not overwritten by firmware from the TFTP server.
2. Install the 3.2.1 SIP firmware on the ATA, since the ATA is currently running the 3.2.4 SCCP firmware.
3. Register the ATA, as a third-party SIP device, with the Call Manager .Should I register the ATA as a 3rd party device?
HP computer, was working last friday and today it isnt. Can not connect to the internet or outlook etc. Looked in BIOS says it is conected to LAN - tried enabling and disabling it and re-booting it. Still nothing. Had a tech guy that said to look in device manager, but network adapter was no where to be seen. What shall i try next to resolve this problem?

View 2 Replies View Related1. I recently purchased an Asus X53-sx1159v laptop (Windows 7 64 bit os - other detals at bottom ).
2. While it has a wifi network connection (which works fine), it doesn't seem to have any listing for ethernet (ie wired) connection. (even though it has the port for wired access.)
3. When i look under computer/device manager/networks, all i get is the wifi atheros 9485 network adaptor. There is no other listing. (see attched file for screen grabs)
4. Am i missing something obvious with all this? The Asus website has examples of this model with screen grab which includes an ethernet adaptor as well (see attached file)
Note that laptop is labelled as an X53 series but in the computer it get listed as a K53e

i've just upgraded my graphic card and now i don't have any network adapters listed in the device manager (only firewire under +IEEE 1394 and all the other devices) I've already reinstalled Windows 7 (64 Bit) and tried installing another LAN card (10/100) - that wasn't recognized.
Within the BIOS (award- Motherboard- GA-P35-DS4 ) i couldn't find anything related that should be turned off/on? [URL]
Could it be broken if it is not appearing there? If yes- why isn't the motherboard recognizing my other LAN Adapter that i've installed on the bottom slot
Should i reset the Bios by pulling the battery/using the cmos jumper?
my network adapter can't be found. so i do i find i/
