I recently bought a netgear n300 wnr2200 router. The first day I set up the network and everything worked fine ( my ISP don't require any passwords etc, standard automatic set up - basically just typing a SSID and a password ( WEP)). The Internet worked perfectly and my iPhone, iPad, ps3 all connects without any problems whatsoever! without any more management than typing password. My laptop, acer aspire 3820tg (windows 7) worked perfectly the initial day. After this it struggles to connect. I will sometimes get the "could not connect to ...." message. Sometimes using the troubleshoot it wil fix the problem by itself. Most times not,
What is weird is that even if I get a connection I will at random intervals get " local access only" or completely dropping the connection. ( then it usually will not connect again) He wifi signal is 100%. I'm not able to make it work in a stable fashion. I have tried updating to the latest network driver for my laptops broadcom wifi adapter (from acer driver site) but this changed nothing. Turning on/off the wifi adapter does not work. Rebooting sometimes works but it's completely random. Sometimes going to network properties and enabling active settings for WLAN will let it connect (sorry if this is not the correct wording, my windows is in Norwegian) (it's the lowest box that you can check, and when this is done you can press "configure" . When pressing it just says cisco something is enabled and showing an "okay box " )
When connecting to the router, it says it has the latest firmware.
Example today: I boot pc, get an error message saying it cannot connect. I try letting windows solve it- doesn't work. I try reboot - doesn't work. I try activate WLAN settings - doesn't work. I reboot the pc - doesn't work. Third reboot (only difference is that pc is placed in a different table in my living room) and I magically get a connection. With active WLAN setting being enabled prior to boot!
I moved my pc 5 meters to another table, wifi signal is 100% but it starts dropping to only local connection !?!? I move back, and it's working again.. Funny thing is that the router is only 7 meters from the table where it's not working ( this could be a coincidence) and i can use the wifi in rooms much further away with devices that shouldn't have better WLAN adaptors(such as iPhone). I have never had any trouble with Internet connections on wifi with this laptop prior to this!
I just recently bought a wireless router (DIR-615) from dlink. After installing it my laptop cannot connect to the wifi network but all other devices(iphones,etc..) can. After speaking with the dlink techs they told me it probably was a problem with my wifi adapter. I downloaded the latest driver with no success. I don't know what to try anymore.
I have a Acer Aspire 5536 laptop, about 3 years old.Over the last year, the WiFi has kept dropping and so I have to physically switch the WiFi on and off, only then will it start working. When it "drops" the globe sign at the bottom of the screen (taskbar) goes and only the 2computers icon is flashing.
My laptop works fine on my network for 80% of the time but the rest of the time I get yellow triangle and the system says limited access. The annoying bit is that when this happens my smartphone is still connected to my wifi network and works perfectly so I can only assume there is a fault on the laptop. I take out the network adapter plug then plug it in and the laptop usually reconnects but sometimes it can take about half an hour!
My laptop is an acer aspire6935 and the operating system is windowsvista home premium. The wireless router is connected to a desktop via a yellow data cable.
My family recently purchased an Acer Aspire One netbook running Windows 7. Unfortunately, once I got it out of the box and tried to connect to the internet, I had some problems. My family predominantly uses Apple devices - in fact, this netbook is the only PC that we have in the house. All of our Apple devices work wonderfully with our current Wi-Fi connection (iPhone, iPad, MacBooks, etc). The Acer is able to detect our wireless, and it even says that it's "connected" with excellent signal strength. However, it says it is an "Unidentified Network" with "no internet access." To see if this problem limited to just that wi-fi connection, I hooked up my Verizon Wireless Mi-Fi and it worked just fine with the Acer.
I have an ACER Aspire 1830 (netbook) and has 3g build in according to the teacher, and it obviously is in because the sim has been put in the laptop (The scrap is in the box from the sim). Everytime I try to use it it says that my APN is incorrect.
I have taken a few steps to try and fix this:
1. I have changed the APN to all of the possible ones from Telstra (telstra.internet, telstra.data, etc.), and none of them seemed to have worked.
2. I asked a friend who has the same laptop whos 3g IS working to check the details on his laptop, and there is no APN or user/pass in his laptop.
Having a problem connecting with my home wifi through this laptop but when using other computers/laptops in within the home they seem to connect fine. it was working fine last night and then when i switched on today it stopped working. the wifi seems to be showing all the networks around the vicinity, but no connection. i ran ipconfig and it seems to state that my 'media is disconnected'
In the last few weeks my wireless has been crap and it's been quite slow, making some pages take forever to load or stuck in a constant loading cycle. Im on a Acer Aspire One D257-13448 netbook with built in Intel Centrino N-100 wireless adapter.
I've tries a lot of things already, resetting my Bell 2Wire modem outer, disabling and re-enabling my wifi, chaning the wireless network name and password, and even chaning the power settings for maximum wireless performance. Though I have noticed a little increase in speed with the last action, its still slower then it was when I first got my netbook back in september. I know the network is fine because my two computer connected by wires work just fine.
earlier this year I bought an Acer AspireOne netbook with Windows 7 startup operating system. It's been working fine until recently when it suddenly does not see our home wifi connection. It shows a list of all our neighbours routers, just not ours. We have various other devices that can see and connect to it just fine (other PCs & laptops, iPhones & smartphones, MacBook Pro etc) A system restore cured the problem the first couple of times, but now that doesn't work. I've tried resetting & restarting the modem & router dozens of times but it does not appear in the list of available networks for the netbook.
I have an acer aspire 3630 and i recently got it, so i decided to update all drivers and i stupidly didn't do a back up now the wifi isnt working, i tried uninstalling the cards, and tried doing what this thread saidi even tried installing all the drivers i could find (broodcom, foxconn, the drivers from the acer site) and nothing is working, my wifi light next to the switch keeps flashing on and off.
I'll cut right to the chase: I've been having some serious problems with wifi detection. There are times when the wifi is detected successfully, but most days, my laptop can't seem to detect any. The wifi light goes on and off as well. Also, there are times when the wifi suddenly just goes off and fails to detect any, even after it has already started working.Usually, I have to turn off my laptop and wait for it to cool before the wifi starts working again. I already have that power save mode option unchecked, so I don't really know what's causing the problem.
I have a Acer aspire 5742 laptop using Windows 7. Recently the laptop keeps getting disconnected from the router when using wireless, nothing has changed recently at all, except for sky being put in and using the same splitter not sure if this would affect it or not? Is there anything i can do? Like change the wireless channel or something?
I don't think I ever set up my laptop for home WIFI. There is only one choice, (being Belkin) in Home Group and would like to take my puter to another room in my house using my WIFI modem occasionally. It did work fantastic at a friends house hooking up to their WIFI. I have been looking for a manual to download, but can't seem to find one on line or at the Acer home page.
I have an ACER Aspire 5552 laptop. A couple of days ago started having problems connecting to the Internet. Seems to connect to WiFi ok but no Internet connection. I know the router's fine and there is Internet connection because my phone's connected to Internet fine. Even when I use Ethernet cable, it still says there is no Internet connection.
i can connect to my wifi but not the internet...I've connected it to the same network using an ethernet cable and it all works fine, the same can be said for when i connect to any other wireless network.. It only seems to be my wireless network which doesnt work... We recently changed our internet in the house from bt to virgin, and this was when the problem started.
My partners Aspire 5315 laptop will not connect to our newly installed Virgin wifi. Virgin have tried to access while hard wired and can see no issue with wifi, my laptop runs without issue Samsung Q35.When trying to connect Windows Network Diagnostics the message that comes up is;Cannot communicate with primary DNS Server(194.168.4.100).Network diagnostics pinged the remote host but did not receive a response. We can take her Aspire laptop out and connect to friends WIFI (Virgin, BT etc.) without any issues but cannot do this on our own wifi at home. Every diagnostic thats been run shows no issues with anything. [code] When I hard wire the internet through the ethrnet connection I have no issues but kinda defeats the purpose of WIFI for my partner.
My ancient HP desktop connects to the network via wired connection. My laptop connects wirelessly (usually). Both have very strong signals from the router and the desktop connects to the internet just like always, but the laptop isn't getting the internet signal. The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5534 (Costco special) and the router is a Linksys Simultaneous Dual Band N-type. The only real significant thing that was done on the laptop was to install Adobe Shockwave Player with Norton Scan. I already have McAfee on the laptop tho, so I uninstalled the Norton. I'm going to do a system restore in a moment.
a while ago my pc had an eroor, ive fixed it and replaced windows vista and now im on windows 7, i have a connection through an ethernet cable plugged into my router but my laptop cannot find my wireless network but it works on my DSIXL, PSP and Xbox 360 so its not an internet problem. my pc model is an Acer Aspire 7730.
The router is Canyon Cn-WF514, my laptop is Acer aSpire 5755G with wndows7 x64.Password protection and mac filtering are disabled. I'm connecting to the router from my other laptop Acer 5730z without problems and everything is fine on it. I tried changing the wireless driver on my laptop,Here are some pics of router settings.
One of my laptops (Acer Aspire 5741) won't connect to the internet, it stopped connecting last night at around 9pm UK time. It shows an ! in a triangle over my Internet Access bars. When I troubleshoot the message is 'Your broadband modem is experiencing connectivity issues'. My Compaq mini netbook is not experiencing any problems though. I have tried resetting the router, removing and readding the home network and checking the security key is correct -I do also have a VPN from my university which has been installed since April without any problems. Both the laptop and notebook use windows 7 and Firefox.
Why i can not see my network adapters in my Acer aspire 5251 I did a quick searching about my ipconfig all how I can rresolve to bring back my network adapters
