Dec 30, 2012I got a new Tenda W311R+ Wireless-N Broadband Router yesterday. I already have a wired broadband internet connection in my home with a Beetel 110TC1 modem. I did following:
1. Connected the Beetel modem to the Tenda router using an Ethernet cable
2. Connected the Tenda router to my PC using another Ethernet cable.
3. Went to 192.168.0.1 (as mentioned in the instructions sheet which came along with the router)
Now, what should I set as the access mode, ADSL Dial-up or DHCP? Are there any other settings I should change in order to enhance the speed? I have Windows XP SP3. Also, do I need my Beetel modem or can I use the router without it?

Apr 13, 2012I am trying to setup my network in my home, so that I can extend the wireless signal from my main router by using an access point (a tenda w311r+).But, I want to do it so that the access point isn't connected to the main router with a cable, I want it to be connected to the main router wirelessly.It does say on the box that it can 'bridge' multiple wireless routers.
The access point I have also has 4 ethernet ports on it, so I will use one of these to plug my xbox 360 into.I also want the main router to be responsible for the DHCP.

I have done the following, but still it cannot get Internet access:Set up WDS with the same channel and use the same encryption as the Linksys router; Disable the DHCP in the W311R;From the wireless point of view, I can see the Tenda router, but no Internet access.

I have unplugged the router for 5 mins and then let it come back on and still cant get in, pressed the reset button down and let it come back up still nothing, and I have unplugged the cable modem and router for five mins and then plugged them both back up and I still can't get the router to reset to the default admin password. In the past it has worked before but now nothing I try will let me into the router interface to set up anything.

May 13, 2013I was given this router (it's my 3rd one) and cannot get the reset button to reset the password. I have run throught a 30/30/30 reset as well as just holding the button in for the standard 30 seconds.
I know the router works, as in i can ping it. It asks for a password when i go to 192.168.1.1, but *blank* and "admin" do not work. When i click the cancel button it displays a pink(salmon) screen that says "401 Unauthorized Authrization required". (all of this is when i am connected to it with an ethernet cable to #1)
When it's sitting there it has an led lit over power and one ove wlan which flickers from time to time.

The former service (modem) was a cisco (1 port) that I connected my EA 2700 Cisco router to and it worked like a charm. My IP phones came right up as well. Now I have an modem/router combo (provided by my ISP) and when ever I attempt to connect to my VPN it will give me an error and not connect. I was told by my ISP that I could bridge the router and try that way.Do I need to set up all over again? or have the settings remained. Also I am unable to access my router with admin/password. Oct 10, 2011I changed my E1000 router name successfully, and then went into the Administration section to change my password. After changing the password and clicking on Save a small screen pops up asking me to verify my router's username and password. When I enter the exact same user name and password it does not accept them. When I try to enter the old user name and password it does not accept them either. I then try combinations of the two and it still will not accept the input. I have reset my router 4 times now and this keeps occurring. I am completely baffled.
