I don't know how can I backup these settings? Is there any solution about this problem.I know a simple way is creating an image of windows installation drive by an application such as Norton Ghost but I'm talking about windows solution.

View 1 Replies View RelatedPlatform: LMS 3.2.1 with RME 4.3.2 on Windows 2003.I'm having a problem with several devices that were backing up fine until this week - suddenly they aren't backing up their running configurations, but RME is fetching their startup configurations fine and VTP backups are fine. At first I thought it might be timeouts, so I used inline edit to incease the telnet timeout for a device to 180s. However, the job fails well within this time period (debug shows on i/o error?). My order of protocols is SSH, Telnet, TFTP. I took a stab in the dark that this suggested a database problem so I picked one at random and deleted it from DCR, and readded it and it worked. However, for the other 48 devices affected it did not.
I'm wondering if I need to do anything to the RME database to get things back to where they were? Do I need to reinitialize the RME database, and if I do that what do I lose? [code]

Multicast Source-->3750 SW (add PIM SM-DM? Yes/No)-->3845 WAN Router (add PIM SM-DM? Yes/No)-->T1-->2821 (add PIM SM-DM? Yes/No)-->3560 SW (add PIM SM-DM? Yes/No)
OK, in this is it necessary to configure "IP Multicast-routing" on the switches? Do I configure PIM on all interfaces that will handle multicasting (router and switches?) If PIM is enabled on the 3750 do I need PIM configured between the 3845 and the 2821 ? Do I configure the Auto-RP on the 3750 or the 3845 ?

View 19 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to figure out what's wrong in a LAN having 70 computers.There are three routers in the same subnet with three switches (kinda crappy). DHCPs are off.The problem is that randomly the routers are losing their configurations or the network hangs a lot. There is no problem in the routers (tested many times).The thing is that when i start packet sniffing over the network using wireshark there's a big flood (over 10.000 packets in a sec) coming in a internal ip inside the network ex. 192.168.1.60.Next thing is that when one of the routers shuts down manually, the other one is losing it's config. Today, when i went to check 192.168.1.60 i saw the power plug was not connected, when i re-plugged it the flood was gone. (the computer was turned off).I enabled SPIs / firewalls in all of the three routers and there is no problem yet.

In my opinion, the best practice will be using the System:UserName condition on Authorization Network Access but I want to know what you think, do you agree??

We upgraded to Cisco LMS 4.2.1 recently and we have noticed that every time we reboot our Windows VM Server the archived configurations from the network devices are no longer displayed. They do not appear in the archive, version tree or directory. We are meeting the minimum system requirements for running LMS 4.2.1 and we do not seem to have found any possible bugs related to this.

Those lines are:

I am using Cisco Works LMS 4.0 for collecting configurations of the devices. View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to move some configurations over to an ASA5510 and some of the commands are a bit different than I'm used to (worked on old pix before)
I've configured the following on the device:
Outside interface: 65.66.64.34/28
DMZ : 65.66.64.49/28
Inside : 10.2.3.3/26
===========================
The current firewall has the below configured on it (old Juniper)
10.2.3.0/24 gateway 10.2.3.15 **10.2.3.15 is the IP for 3750 switch on the inside LAN**
10.0.0.0/24 gateway 10.2.3.4 **10.12.175.4 internal vpn- will remove later but thats a different discussion**
0 0 gateway 65.66.64.33 **to internet
10.0.1.0 gateway 10.2.3.2 **10.2.3.2 represents mpls traffic
[code]...
The current set up for this network has an mpls router and a vpn concentrator as part of the network my aim currently is to replace the juniper with an asa5510 the changing of the vpn tunnels will be for a different time:
work station ===> switch (3750) DG to =====> MPLS (vendor owned and managed) ====> non mpls traffic ====> vpn concentrator ===>firewall ===> router
The above will need acls to go with the routes, which I should manage ok just want to make sure the routing is configured properly
I have an issue with the LMS 4.0, i added manually the ASA Fws 5520 and 5510, and i see them there, but i cannot see the configuration, inventory and technology details.Telnet is deactivaved in ASA´s, ssh and snmp v3 are enabled.Routers and switches were added without issues.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI built a VSS pair with a couple of 6509's. This was our first pair so we took the opportunity to do some testing. One of the features we tested was the priority/preemption feature, which we decided not to use. After some time we shutdown switch 1 and relocated it to another building. Unfortunately, because of a lack of fiber, it was not connected to switch 2 for several months. Also, unfortunately, I failed to remove the priority commands. Now while switch 1 was "unconnected", we made changes to the config on switch 2. Months later, when the fiber was complete and I connected switch 1, preemption caused it to take over. I'm guessing switch 1 thought it's config file was the better one, and proceeded to overwrite switch 2's production config. I quickly disconnected the fiber but not before losing my production config on switch 2. We of course recovered from that with a backup, but now I need to connect switch 1 again. I have removed the priority command from switch 1 and rebooted it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm a Dell Partner and I've been trying to figure out why I can't order a Poweredge T410 server with 8GB of RAM. The only options are 3GB, 4GB, 24GB, or 32GB. I ordered a T410 for another client at the middle of last year with 8GB of ram. Now they don't offer that. I realize I could buy RAM after the purchase, but I'd rather just buy the server configured the way I need it for the client and not have to worry about separate warranties on the aftermarket memory, etc.
Also, I want to do a custom RAID configuration, as suggested a few times on the forum. Two harddrives in a RAID-1 array for the OS, and four harddrives in RAID-10 (or RAID-5 with a hot spare) array for data.
I did an online chat with Dell and the rep said it was not possible, i.e. what you see in the online configurator is what you get. Do I need to call Dell to get a custom configuration?
I have bought 2504 LAN Controller and my old 1142 wants to configure to accept that Controller instead of old controller. These APs and controllers in far away site and before I go there I want to figure out how can I do following.
1. How can I configure old 1142(Previously connected with another LAN Controller) to accept New 2504 Controller instead of old controller ?
2. What are the concerns do I need to consider?
We use Cisco LMS Prime 4.1 to archive our Cisco Equipment configurations.
Now we want to store the configurations off site.
I'm moving into a new data center. I don't consider myself a network engineer or anything but I do understand the basics. The new data center I am moving into routes my network to me a bit differently than my old data center. The IOS on the Cisco 2621 is: c2600-i-mz.123-26.bin
I am assigned a /29 block which they configure as the routing network, it looks like this: Routing Network: A.A.A.0Routing Network Sub net Mask: 255.255.255.248Routing Network Def Gateway: A.A.A.1Customer Usable Address: A.A.A.4
I've been assigned a /28 block which is B.B.B.240/28. They stated that in order for me to use my allocated blocks, I had to act as my own gateway, routing the traffic through the routing network. This goes just a bit beyond my networking knowledge, though I still understand it, I just don't know exactly how to execute. I'm assuming my 2621 with 2 Fast Ethernet interfaces should be able to handle this routing scenario.
Any sample configs, or possible a link to a how to to get this setup? I was going to use FreeBSD to do the routing, but a appliance based Cisco router is much more attractive of an option to me.
