View 1 RepliesMy family recently purchased an Acer Aspire One netbook running Windows 7. Unfortunately, once I got it out of the box and tried to connect to the internet, I had some problems. My family predominantly uses Apple devices - in fact, this netbook is the only PC that we have in the house. All of our Apple devices work wonderfully with our current Wi-Fi connection (iPhone, iPad, MacBooks, etc). The Acer is able to detect our wireless, and it even says that it's "connected" with excellent signal strength. However, it says it is an "Unidentified Network" with "no internet access." To see if this problem limited to just that wi-fi connection, I hooked up my Verizon Wireless Mi-Fi and it worked just fine with the Acer.
View 19 Replies View Relatedi can connect to my wifi but not the internet...I've connected it to the same network using an ethernet cable and it all works fine, the same can be said for when i connect to any other wireless network.. It only seems to be my wireless network which doesnt work... We recently changed our internet in the house from bt to virgin, and this was when the problem started.
[code]..
My partners Aspire 5315 laptop will not connect to our newly installed Virgin wifi. Virgin have tried to access while hard wired and can see no issue with wifi, my laptop runs without issue Samsung Q35.When trying to connect Windows Network Diagnostics the message that comes up is;Cannot communicate with primary DNS Server(194.168.4.100).Network diagnostics pinged the remote host but did not receive a response. We can take her Aspire laptop out and connect to friends WIFI (Virgin, BT etc.) without any issues but cannot do this on our own wifi at home. Every diagnostic thats been run shows no issues with anything. [code] When I hard wire the internet through the ethrnet connection I have no issues but kinda defeats the purpose of WIFI for my partner.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently bought a wireless router (DIR-615) from dlink. After installing it my laptop cannot connect to the wifi network but all other devices(iphones,etc..) can. After speaking with the dlink techs they told me it probably was a problem with my wifi adapter. I downloaded the latest driver with no success. I don't know what to try anymore.
My computer is a notebook by acer - Aspire 1640
I have an Acer Aspire X3950 desktop, I am running Win7 and have tried two different wifi adapters and they install but they will not connect. It is almost as if my computer itself is blocking the adapter.I spoke to an On Networks rep for over two hours and he tried everything from reinstalling to rebooting and tried three different drivers. He was from a different country and when I told him what the troubleshooter said he would not deviate from the script they give them 2 hours and he was not even close. It saw the device but it wouldn't even blink.Acers website nor customer service will assist me because my warranty is expired. They want me to send the computer back but I have a feeling it is an easy fix I just don't know enough about computers to say oh just uncheckmark this box.I know in the past I used wifi but switched to an ethernet cable.

This was when I left the laptop for around 20 mins and when I went back it had connected to my home network. We have 2 other laptops and an iphone that connects to the internet so I know the router is working.I have disabled the wirless adapter and restarted the laptop but still get nothing. As I type this, on another laptop!, the problem one has been on for 30 mins but still nothing.

My son just moved back in with us and we can not figure out how to get his Acer Aspire AX1300 desktop to commect to our internet. When we do network search it pulls up our internet no problem. When we hit the connect button it comes up with a box with 2 options 1. add add'l information or 2. connect to another network.when we click the conect and add addl info it comes up with another box wanting us to list username, password and logon domain. We have tried adding our passcode and network id, but it does not work. He also has an Acer laptop, all he did was turn it on and search for the network then put in the key and password and it was connected. I believe both the CPU and the laptop are using windows vista. How to get his laptop connected to our network and have internet access?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the last few weeks my wireless has been crap and it's been quite slow, making some pages take forever to load or stuck in a constant loading cycle. Im on a Acer Aspire One D257-13448 netbook with built in Intel Centrino N-100 wireless adapter.
I've tries a lot of things already, resetting my Bell 2Wire modem outer, disabling and re-enabling my wifi, chaning the wireless network name and password, and even chaning the power settings for maximum wireless performance. Though I have noticed a little increase in speed with the last action, its still slower then it was when I first got my netbook back in september. I know the network is fine because my two computer connected by wires work just fine.
Im running Windows 7 Professional SP1.
Cannot connect to wireless network, I've updated drivers, reset switches and tried any

View 1 Replies View Relatedearlier this year I bought an Acer AspireOne netbook with Windows 7 startup operating system. It's been working fine until recently when it suddenly does not see our home wifi connection. It shows a list of all our neighbours routers, just not ours. We have various other devices that can see and connect to it just fine (other PCs & laptops, iPhones & smartphones, MacBook Pro etc) A system restore cured the problem the first couple of times, but now that doesn't work. I've tried resetting & restarting the modem & router dozens of times but it does not appear in the list of available networks for the netbook.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an acer aspire 3630 and i recently got it, so i decided to update all drivers and i stupidly didn't do a back up now the wifi isnt working, i tried uninstalling the cards, and tried doing what this thread saidi even tried installing all the drivers i could find (broodcom, foxconn, the drivers from the acer site) and nothing is working, my wifi light next to the switch keeps flashing on and off.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'll cut right to the chase: I've been having some serious problems with wifi detection. There are times when the wifi is detected successfully, but most days, my laptop can't seem to detect any. The wifi light goes on and off as well. Also, there are times when the wifi suddenly just goes off and fails to detect any, even after it has already started working.Usually, I have to turn off my laptop and wait for it to cool before the wifi starts working again. I already have that power save mode option unchecked, so I don't really know what's causing the problem.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire 5570Z that is running Windows Vista with an Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter. The Windows installation is a brand new clean install with all drivers on the computer being the latest and greatest from their respective manufacturers. Now for my problem...I am unable to connect to any wireless network using either the onboard wireless network card or an external USB wireless network adapter. When I scan for wireless networks my cpu will see them. I can then select whichever network I want to try and connect to but when I click the connect button it never takes me to the authentication screen to input the WEP key.
I have tried to manually enter the WEP and configure the network but then when I try to connect to the network it still tells me that Windows is unable to connect to the network. It gives me the option to diagnose connection or connect to another network but when I try diagnosing the connection it scans for a split second then it only gives me an option to go view available wireless networks. It is like my computer has lost the ability to authenticate a network connection.
I bought a new wireless modem. It works perfectly on my PC but I can't connect to wireless with my laptop or my phone. I have the right configuration and the password is correct. The devices show full wireless bars but just can't connect.
I have an Acer Aspire M1100. When trying to download the lates wlan drivers from support.acer.com they can't be installed because they require at mos the XP version of Windows (I have windows 7).
I have an acer aspire 5742g laptop . I use wifi at my home , and the wireless network seemed to work fine there.
Then after a few days I came to the hostel . We have wifi in the hostel , so I tried to connect my laptop with the wifi . And there is a message that came , "Unable to connect to stes(name of the wifi network ) , earlier I thought that it was a temporary thing and that it would work the next day, but then the next day , my room mates arrived and their laptops connected easily without the error message .
1)When I click on the wifi icon on the right hand side bottom bar , I can see the network , but it does not connect , and gives me the same error message .
2)When I click on Network and Sharing Center , and then on manage wireless network , I don't see the name(stes) of the wireless network(So I can't even remove it)
3)I have tried uninstalling, installing, updating my network adapter , drivers etc . but none of the things have worked .
I can't seem to figure out what the problem is . Its really bugging me now :| , I formatted my laptop , restored it to factory settings , nothing worked. I also tried to connect through a hotspot which I made from my mobile and it got connected easily without any problem .
I have a Acer Aspire 5536 laptop, about 3 years old.Over the last year, the WiFi has kept dropping and so I have to physically switch the WiFi on and off, only then will it start working. When it "drops" the globe sign at the bottom of the screen (taskbar) goes and only the 2computers icon is flashing.

All other devices within the house can connect (iPod, mobile phone, other laptops), but this laptop wont.It was connected but it disconnected itself and now refuses to connect. Clicking "Connect" on the dialog does nothing. The OS is possibly the worse I've ever used, but there doesn't seem to be much you can upgrade it to.The router is protected with "WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]" according to the router setup, it's name is unique and password 8 chars long.

I purchased a brand new Acer Aspire 5250-BZ669 that included Windows 7 just two days ago. Everything is working fine on it except for it randomly looses connection to the internet. I have an established network that I have been using for years. The signal strength is always 5 bars and excellent. I also have a compaq connected to the same network, and it never looses connection. However my Acer will randomly drop connection. I have no idea why. Sometimes it will connect again in minutes or sometimes hours. I am using a Linksys G Wireless Router(Model # WRT54G2), Atheros AR5B125 Wireless Network Driver, and a Atheros AR8152 Controller. I have enabled and disabled in addition to uninstalling and installing the driver and controller many times. I have also moved the router and adapter all over the house. I have downloaded the newest versions of every driver from the Acer website. I have googled for hours looking for the answer to no avail. I run the troubleshoot and the answer it gives me is to make sure all the connections to the router is secure, which it is or else my other laptop wouldn't work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy laptop works fine on my network for 80% of the time but the rest of the time I get yellow triangle and the system says limited access. The annoying bit is that when this happens my smartphone is still connected to my wifi network and works perfectly so I can only assume there is a fault on the laptop. I take out the network adapter plug then plug it in and the laptop usually reconnects but sometimes it can take about half an hour!
My laptop is an acer aspire6935 and the operating system is windowsvista home premium. The wireless router is connected to a desktop via a yellow data cable.
My acer aspire 4736z can not use anymore internet even tough the wifi icon says its connected. I can use cable. should I download a new wifi adapter? My adapter is Atheros AR928x wireless net work adapter
