Cannot Connect To Linksys WRT160N Router Webpage

Jan 27, 2011

I cannot get into my Linksys WRT160N router web page. I'm hardwire connected to the router. My computer is using DHCP IP addressing. The router has assigned it the standard 198.169.1.100. I can ping the router at 192.168.1.1. Wireless and Wired connections through the router to the internet are OK, no trouble accessing internet sites. Linksys advisor displays the router address as 192.168.1.1, so it has not been changed from the factory default. The advisor shows my networked devices clear back to the internet and claims there are no problems. After entering 192.168.1.1 into IE, IE appears to connect and is waiting for the router to respond. After a few minutes, it times out with failure to connect message. I've tried Safe mode with internet access, I've temporarily disabled my Windows and McAfee Firewalls, and the McAfee virus scanner. All to no avail.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT160N V3 - Cannot Connect To Setup Webpage

Apr 20, 2012

Every time I try to connect to the admin page of my router, I get "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."  This happens with FIrefox 11, and started when I upgraded to 8 or 9.  A machine running FF 3.6 does not exhibit this problem; I get right in.  What IE 9 says is "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" (after complaining about the expired certificate).

I ran Wireshark to see if I could learn anything, but all I could figure out was this: https handshake was OK. First TLS packet is received by router, which then immediately issues a reset and ends the connection.  I don't know why.

have I got a screwed up configuration (or router)?

When going to connect wirelessly, the 2GHz connection is visible but the 5 GHz connection is not  (I have them named differently).    How do I see both wireless connections?

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT120N / Can't Access Config Webpage

Apr 18, 2013

WRT120N router: After several hours on the phone with Technical support I got nowhere. Guy had me putting in "admin"  in the user name then the PW. I kept getting the 401 authorization required message. After all that I reset my router and used the disk to setup again. After that I went again to the 192.168.1.1 and got the request for authorization, entered admin in the PW and it does nothing, just reloads the request and browser keeps connecting. I have WIN 7 HP, use Firefox 5.0 mostly, but tried on IE8 as well and it does the same thing. I am attempting to open a port.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT54G Webpage Does Not Load Correctly

Mar 6, 2008

I own a wireless WRT54G, which has worked fine in the past. After setting up a new wireless network, I went to the router webpage to open some ports. The problem with the page loading is that it doesn't display correctly. No clickable text is displayed on the top of the page or the side bar, so I basically can't do anything whatsoever to configure it. I've tried loading it up in both Firefox and Internet Explorer, with IE saying the page loaded but with errors.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT54G2 - Unable To Access It Via Webpage

Feb 28, 2013

I have a continuing problem with my WRT54G2 wireless router.  I set up my network, changing the password for the router, and I change the SSID, as well as the encryption password.  When I set it up, and after changing passwords etc.  I always log off, go back and log on, and it works fine.  Once I set up the network, over time, I'll notice a device will no longer connect via wireless.  When that happens, I try to log on to the router, and can not connect to the router using either Firefox or IE.  When I try, I get Internal Server Error, or just nothing.  I can ping the router, and if I run an IPCONFIG at this point, the default gateway does show 192.168.1.1.    Every time this starts to happen, I must do a hard reset of the router.  Once  I do this, I can connect, and log on using the default settings, and re-set everything.  This is a HUGE pain, as it takes a lot of time, and happens way too often.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Setup A DVR Camera System And Two Webpage Server Boxes Behind A WRT54GL?

Apr 6, 2010

I'm trying to setup a DVR camera system and two web page server boxes behind a Linksys WRT54GL.  The problem I have is that all of the devices want to use port 80 to generate the web page.  Individually, I can get the boxes to work, but when I try to put it all together everything seems to fall apart.  I've got to the DVR set to External port 80, Internal Port 80 IP address 192.168.1.254.  The web page server box I try to set to External port 8001, Internal port 80, IP address 192.168.1.200, when I try to save this setting I get the error message Internet IP address and LAN IP address are in the same subnet.  If I change the web page server settings to External port 8001, Internal port 8001, IP address 192.168.1.200, it will save the settings, but it won't work that way because it won't actually generate a web page when I try to access that port. The error message doesn't seem to make since as all I'm changing is the port number, not the IP address or subnet mask.

I took it to a place that was offering free check ups and they said that I caught a virus which I never seen any sign of catching a virus when it worked and that it had wiped out one of my hard drives and they could fix it for $229.00. I don't have that kind of money so I don't know what to do.

IE Cannot Display Webpage

Jun 30, 2011

I have a network with a 2003 windows server and around 60 XP computers. I also have 2 different gateways. I am trying to access a webpage "eparts.rmpparts.com". When I enter the address it comes up to the page that says "IE cannot display the webpage".I have treid and both gateways and same result. I am also not able to ping the address from the PC within my LAN.I then went to a different network "not within my LAN" and I am able to access the site without any problem. I have accessed it from my phone also without any problems.I have tried to get to this page from the server and also around 5 other computers within the LAN and the same problem each time.I have security settings very low and also the firewalls are off. I tried on a computer that is connected to my LAN with no luck. I then disconnected that same computer and connected it to a different modem not within the LAN and had no prob getting to the site with the same PC.So I know it must have something to do with my LAN but I have no idea what it could be. I have tried everything I can think of and same result each time.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Can't Connect To 192.168.1.1 Or Cisco Connect

Feb 25, 2011

I just bought the e1000 router today and I'm already having trouble. I got it setup the first time and all my computers set up with it and it works fine for internet. Everything is snappy and responsive and I don't have any of the problems I did with my old belkin. However, I am unable to connect to the router using cisco connect or the web interface. I need to forward ports, configure wireless security, etc etc. All I did was disable the guest account through cisco connect, and then when the software just sat there doing nothing with the spinning circle in the middle, I opened task manager and killed the process to get it to go away. Now I can't connect using either cisco connect or the web interface.
