Linksys WRT54G - Garbled Router Web Administration Page

Mar 11, 2013

Sometimes, when I access my router's (Linksys WRT54G) web administration page, it comes out garbled; i.e. missing text, icons, links, form controls, etc.

Gets fixed after powering the router off then on again.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Cannot Access WRT54G Setup Page

Jan 19, 2013

I have a WRT54G router that I have not used for many years, but now I need to use it again. I have connected it between my modem and PC, and I am able to get an internet connection on the PC, but I am unable to connect to the router's configuration page. I have tried resetting the router numerous times (holding the reset button 5 seconds, 10 seconds, even longer) to reset the IP address to the default 192.168.1.1 address, but still cannot access the page. The power LED is on and the WLAN and Internet LEDs are on, and the LED for the port my PC is connected to is on. The hardware version of the router is v3. I tried downloading the latest firmware, but without being anble to communicate with the router at the IP address I cannot update the firmware. How can I go about connectiong to the router's setup page? When using ipconfig, the Default Gateway appears to still point to my ISP's IP address instead of the router's.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT54G Administrator Page Is Broken?

Sep 27, 2012

I recently "uninstalled" DD-WRT from my router and tried to install the actual firmware for the router, so I went to this page [URL] WRT54G and select version 5. My router is really version 5.1 but I read on this forum that this router works with version 5 so I downloaded it and installed it.

However, this is how my admin page looks like,

And I can't do anything at all. Is there a fix for this? Is there an actual version 5.1 firmware? Or must I switch to a different, proper router?

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT54G Page Has Reverted To Default

Feb 24, 2012

I have a Linxsys WRT54G.  Once every week or two, it seems to "forget" its name, and revert to the default name.  When I try to access it with my laptop or phone, "Multivac" is gone, and "Linxsys_XXXXXXX" (where XXXX are random numbers and letters) has taken its place.  When I go to the setup at 192.168.1.1, the "Router Name" on the first "Basic Setup" page is still "Multivac," but the "Network Name" on the second "Wireless" page has reverted to the default.  If I change it back to Multivac, everything is fine for a week or three until it "forgets" again.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT54G - How To Access Setup Page

Apr 27, 2012

When I had DSL, my WRT54G was my DHCP master for my home network.  When I got AT&T U-Verse, their "gateway" became the DHCP master and also the wireless access point.  But the signal was not strong enough where I wanted to use it, so I hooked up the WRT54G again.  I discovered that if I connected the U-Verse gateway to the "Internet" port on the WRT54G Linksys, then my home network was split in two, which I did not want.  The WRT54G access point is physically somewhat distant from my wired computer, so I wanted to keep the U-Verse gateway as the DHCP master. (The U-Verse gateway is a router with four "computer" ports but no "Internet" port.)

I followed instructions on the Linksys web site, and using my wi-fi connected computer I re-programmed the WRT54G to be "Disabled" as a DHCP server.  Then I powered down and physically connected the U-Verse gateway to a "Computer" port on the WRT54G.  This solved my problem:  my distant wi-fi computer now has a good signal, and both computers "see" each other.

However, now I seem to have lost access to the WRT54G setup "web page."  Is it possible to access the innards of the WRT54G when its DHCP service is disabled?  Or would I have to reset the device to factory configuration and start all over if I wanted to make any tweaks?

Cisco Wireless :: Cannot Access WLC 4404 Administration Page Using Https

Sep 27, 2010

We have recently upgraded the software on our two WLC 4404 from software release 4.0.xxx to 4.2.xxx to  6.1.199.4 and lastly to version 7.0.98.0.

We could access the WLC's GUI's using https when it was on version 4.0.xxx. When we did the upgrades from version 4.2.xxx to 6.1.199.4 we couldn't access the Admin page through https anymore but only through normal http. We enabled https through the GUI and through the CLI and we did do the re-generation certificate , without any success. We then upgraded to version 7.0.98.0 and we still have the same result , cannot access Admin GUI through https.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT54G V8 / Unable To Navigate The Basic Setup Page

Jan 14, 2008

I have been trying to change my password and all the settings on my WRT54G V8 router today because I forgot the password, and I can't seem to navigate the Basic Setup page. I can log in (most of the time) after resetting the router, but whenever I try to click on a different tab (like "Wireless", or "Security") it comes up with the page saying "This Page Cannot Be Displayed."  I'd like to be able to put a password on it (which I have successfully done before on this router) because I live in a college dorm and would like to keep my internet from being bogged down by other people using it.

Linksys Won't Allow Access To Router Page

Apr 17, 2011

I have a linksys router, Its at my sisters house. her son is trying to hook up his Xbox to it. The router will not allow me to access the router page, ( I called them and walked them through it). I reset the linksys router, by holding the reset button in for 45 seconds. Then I access the router page by going to 192.268.1.1 Windows gives me a popup to log in, What I find on the internet for a default login is the user name is blank and the password is admin. OR the both the user name and password is admin. However it still will not let me into the router page.

I am wondering if the login popup is something with the windows settings. As when I had the router here at my house, I think It just went to the webpage of the router and thats where it asked me for the user name and password. I do not recall the popup login window before the router page. Is there something to turn off to set it so that windows does not give a popup to login and goes to the webpage to login?

I can't connect to my setup page [url]... I get to the page that says..."There is a problem with this website's security certificate." Then I click the "continue to this website (not recommended). After this it will not connect

Tried with IE9 and Firefox 11

Firefox says "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."

Internet still works. PC is connected directly to router. Tried different port on router. Tried installing CiscoConnect.E2500.1.4.11299.0,0, but it fails saying there is no router connected to PC. Like I said I am on the PC now, wired to router and have internet access via cable modem connected to router. I can see my ireless printer on the network also..

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 / 192.168.0.1 Modem Page Unreachable

Feb 1, 2012

Once in a while, I lose Internet connection and at the same time cannot reach my Siemens Speetstream 4100b DSL modem's setup page 192.168.0.1 ; it happened again this morning (from both wired and wirelessy connected computers). When I go to the router's setup page 192.168.1.1 , it would usually in that situation show that the router has not acquired the Internet IP Address; I power-recycle (a few times) both modem and router and eventually the router reports that it has acquired the Internet IP Address, but there is still no Internet, and the DSL modem's setup page 192.168.0.1 is unreacheable. The situation usually self-resolves only in an hour or so after the time the router has acquired the Internet IP Address: Internet starts working, and the DSL modem's setup page 192.168.0.1 becomes reacheable.

It eventualy times out and takes me back to the login screen. I've tried to reboot my router and that doesn't work. I've also disconnected the internet connection from the modem, and entered the router main password, and that gives me the same response as if I tried to connect via the cloud.
