View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using a Sony Vaio with the following Configurations Win 7 Professional 64 Bit SP 1 The Wireless adapter is Intel Centrino N 6230 with the drivers updated The LAN adapter is Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
This laptop is pretty new and I had been experiencing some problems with Wifi and LAN connectivity to internet.
Initially there was a yellow mark over network icon but it allowed me to access Internet. I was not bothered then..Offlate this has turned ugly. The yellow icon would not allow me to connect to internet through wifi or LAN
Sometimes LAN would connect but now a days connecting to wifi has become a real task with most of the time having to trouble shoot the connection.
Troubleshooting gives me different suggestions which are as follows
a) DHCP not enabled over wireless networks....Trying to repair the same does not work
b) Your computer seems to have been configured properly.
c) Troubleshooting cannot solve the problem
I cannot connect to wifi in office and home. I had mcafee before but removed it completely using mcafee removal tool..
It has been 4 months my Router " Wag 120n ". The Router Gives Me A yellow Sign on the network Icon Sying " No network Access " and the wireless Led is blinking with 1 sec interval So
- I cant open Router's Home Page
- there is No ping to 192.168.1.1 " General Failure or Host unreachable " response
- The Only way to get connected again is to replug the router from electricity , it works normally for 5 min and the Yellow Sign shows up again
the Solutions I Tried to fix that up :-
1) Hard reset the 30/30/15 reset
2) Firmware re-flashing
3) Trying an old firmware 1.0.0.12 instead of 1.0.0.16
but nothing of those worked the Only thing that worked for like 20 min the firmware upgrade but after that the problem came up again the problem happens to all Computers on the network wired or on wireless happens on all kind of operations systems win7, xp, vista, (Android for mobiles).
i connect to the internet using wifi and the 5 bars slowly come up in the lower right and say i am connect but over the top of the bars i get wireless icon with yellow star over it; so whats that all about and how do i fix it nothing should be overlaying the 5 bars ?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI think my computer is infected with malware right now. It is heating up quickly and I'm seeing ads in text in websites that don't do that (cbc, reddit, wikipedia).I had this issue a couple of months ago but Spybot seemed to fix the issue.Recently I noticed my computer was heating faster (and hotter) than usual so I ran a search and it said no threats were found. Not too longer after I start noticing the ads again so I know there is a problem. I have ran the search twice since then and still nothing. I was advised to use ccleaner, malwarebytes, and Super Anti-Spyware. It removed one other threat but the problem was still there. I then started using combofix, but I did not like the look of it so I stopped that scan. It seemed a little sketchy.
My old laptop (the one I'm on now) and my girlfriend's laptop work fine. I connected it with the Ethernet cord and that didn't change anything.I have Windows 7. It's on a 2010 Samsung (I'm not very tech savvy so I'm not sure about all the other details). I primarily used Firefox, but I just switched to Googlechrome this week (well after the problems began).
I am getting a small yellow icon in my wireless settings that suggests that there is no internet connectivity even when I do have the internet. It comes when i disable and enable the wireless adapter or when its left idle. My ipconfig and DNS settings are fine.

I just recently bought a linksys E900 wireless-N300 Router. I installed the software on the disc and followed the on screen instructions. When I attempt to use an ethernet cable as I did with my last router, it won't work. I get that yellow triangle icon indicating no internet access. I tried using a wireless hub to connect wirelessly...I connect, but no internet access. My PC knows its there, suggests that I reset the modem, doesn't work.

My housemates are on the internet fine on their laptops and my xbox live is working, so it's clearly an issue with my laptop. My laptop's internet evidently works with an ethernet cable too, but I can't just go through an ethernet cable all the time since the router is in a housemate's bedroom.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI updated my graphics card driver and when I rebooted, the wireless wasn't working. I went into device manager, and all the network adapters listed there had a yellow exclamation mark beside them. Attempts to disable/enable and uninstall/reinstall haven't worked. I'm at a total loss. I've tried system restore but it failed, and I've tried reinstalling the graphics card driver update, but that hasn't worked either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using a laptop to stream videos through my xbox for over 2years until recently. I setup a wireless network in the house to do this. All was fine until 3 days ago.I use a Dell Inspiron 1545 with Windows 7. I have a Dell Wireless 1397 Minicard, a cisco router (model #2425). Since my laptop was infected by Malware, my network has not worked since. I downloaded Malwarebytes Anti Malware to get rid of it and it appeared to work. I got internet access back. However, I still cannot connect to my network (visible in the Available Network list as normal) or stream any media.Windows Media Centre also has stopped opening and gives me the small box saying 'windows is checking for a solution', then closes with nothing. I can however open WMC if I right click and 'run as administrator'?! I have disabled all other network adaptors, only the Dell minicad is enabled and also tried disabling and enabling this main one with no effect. All problems point to the fact that my laptop can no longer connect to the home network but I cant figure out why?!Another (possibly unrelated) problem is occuring at boot up where I get an error message saying 'Bluetooth Software License not found. [2]' - Again this never happened before the Malware infection.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi purchased vaio with win8. Under network icon, I can not see any other computers in the local network therefore not able to access shares unless i explicitly map the shares which is tedious.
On other computers running win7 and xp, each of them can see each other under network icon. However that is not the case with my laptop running 8. Actually i have seen once or twice all pc-s show up but most of the time, they dont appear.
I read somewhere that following service need to be checked to make sure they are running: upnp, ssdp in services. I checked those and they are all running.
I also enabled "turn on network discovery" under network and sharing->advanced sharing. setting. To make it more complicated there are private and public and all network setting. I enabled all items as follows:
1. Private Turn on network discovery is checked along with Turn on automatic setup of network connected devices Turn on file and printer sharing is selected Allow Windows to manage homegroup connections is selected.
2. Guest or public Turn on network discovery is selected Turn on file and printer sharing is selected.
With these settings I still dont see the local computers and their shares. Do I need to check anything else?
Yesterday my computer acted like it froze up. After a few minutes it seemed to be OK but now I notice a red X in the lower right hand corner next to the speaker iconThe only time I have noticed this "X" before is when the internet service is down.My internet service is fine.

I have previously connected to that same desktop and network using my laptop, but my desktop will not connect to it. It tries to connect for about a full minute, then it indicates that it is not connected. However, in the description lower in that window, it says "You are currently connected to this network." Any attempt to use the internet, however, fails, so it isn't really connected. Also, on the taskbar at the bottom, it shows the network as disconnected (red "x").
