Cacti And Daylight Savings

Oct 30, 2011

So I was checking some core graph links, and every single one of them had a spike around 1am and 3am this morning. At first I thought was on earth could this spike be, but it affected every single on of my links. I was seeing certain Gig links with over 1.5Gb of traffic going through them and some of my transit links way over what they are capable of which is impossible.Then it occurred to me that our clocks went back for an hour this morning at this same time. What can't Cacti adjust itself for this? Or am I missing an option somewhere?

D-Link DIR-655 :: Daylight Savings Not Working On 2.03NA / 2.07NA?

Jul 22, 2012

I can't seem to get the router to adjust for DST for Mountain Time. Enable Daylight Saving is checked. Time zone is (GMT-07:00) Mountain Time (US/Canada). Daylight Saving Offset is +1:00 Things I've tried that don't work:

1) Unchecking Enable Daylight Saving. Save/reboot. Check Enable Daylight Saving again. Save/reboot. No difference for Mountain Time but makes a difference for Pacific time. See item 5 below.

2) Adjusting the offest to +2:00. Save/reboot. No difference in time so it is completely ignoring this setting.

3) Factory reset. Only settings configured after the reset are the time settings.

4) Tried 3 different NTP servers. Not surprising this has no effect as the time zone and DST information is not part of the protocol.

5) Change time zone to Pacific. Save/reboot. Has correct Pacific time adjusted for DST. Uncheck Enable Daylight Saving. Save/reboot. Correct Pacific time without DST. Change back to Mountain Time and Enable Daylight Saving. Save/reboot. Time is 1 hour behind what it should be for Mountain.

6) Change time zone to Central. Save/reboot. Has correct Central time adjusted for DST. Change back to Mountain Time. Save/reboot. Time is 1 hour behind what it should be for Mountain.
