We have a cisco asa5510 firewall, A user at home has a avaya ip phone which connects in on the VPN to the cisco asa5510, for some reason it keep dropping the connection then re connecting on a different IP address(see attached screen shot) thus losing the phone.
View 0 RepliesI have been having a weird connection issue for a week or so.The problem is at the first time i boot up my modem it simply cant connect.DSL Line LED keeps blinking- handshaking and training as it says in modem config page.After maybe 5 minutes or 2 hours, totally random.It picks up the connection, i can use it for hours until it randomly drops down once again.Ive contacted my ISP and they came over two times, they state the line quality is not suitable for my connection speed and it will be solved if i drop down my connection speed.Doing that is a painful process cause there is no other speed/quota package suitable for me, so i wanted to ask you people about it before i take action.
My modem is a Dynalink RTA1320 and i tried with another modem, tried mine in a friends house.Plus i went to the place where the cable enters my house and tried over there too, it didnt work as it should pick up in about 20 seconds.Here are stats my modem shows in the config page.[CODE]
This has been happening for a few months and I have had to reset the router every time and it usually works. I have 3 laptops, normally 2 are used and a roku streaming player connected to the tv. Both laptops are on windows 7 and sometimes the wifi suddenly stops working [sometimes only stops for some devices] even though i am still connected to the my router. Some times, a popup comes up that says that windows has detected an ip address conflict, so I think that that is the problem, but when I try to do ip/release, renew, it says that the media is disconnected to wireless network connection 2 even while i can access the internet.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have two ASA5510 with a peer to peer VPN configuration which is working pretty well.I'm trying to connect to my remote ASA (ASA2) with ASDM on my PC through the VPN on the local ASA (ASA1)I already connected the ASDM to ASA1 through the inside interface but I cant connect to the ASA2 the same way (over the VPN).
When I ping the ASA2 inside interface from my computer, I get the following events:

Recently I've installed this particular cisco ASA5510 at a client site (Head office), along with remote access VPN setup. All most 32 branches(one user from each branch) connect to the head office via remote access vpn.
Further I've used the "vpn-framed-ip-address" command along with a dedicated ip address, under each "user attributes", so every time when a user connect, he used to get the same ip address from the VPN pool.
My problem is sometimes this setup works fine, but once in a while the same ip address will be assigned to two different users at the same time, despite of the "vpn-framed-ip-address".
I have an issue with a site-to-site VPN tunnel between a ASA5510 and 887VA. I have two tunnels connected to the ASA and one seems to be affected where by the tunnel is disconnected and brought up around every 20 seconds. The tunnel is re-established instantly but this break in transmission is causing application issues.

They use those IP's for staticallymapping to Servers inside their local LAN. Thus, they requested another block/subnet from their ISP. They will also use this for static mapping/port forwarding to other servers in their network. The current UTM they are using is allowing this but they would like to use ASA/PIX as their main Firewall. Is this even possible or is there a workaround for this kind of scenario?

My ISP given /28 pool of public IP's. So i had total 14 available IP addresses.
I configured one IP to the my firewall outside interface. I want assign remaining IP's to the my Servers, which are located inside to the firewall.
Recently, I've been having significant problems with denial of service on our ASA-5510. Two IP addresses in particular attack my ASA regularly. What kind of rule do I need to create to deny these IP's access to my firewall?
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently I am having a problem during the initial start up. I am running Windows 7. After the computer starts up, I do not have an internet connection. The yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it appears in the bottom right on the monitors. I can go to the internet connections and disable, then enable and my connection returns. This is only happening during the initial start up. This happens 3 out of 4 times during start up. I have had the cable company check everything and they are saying it is an issue with my computer.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwe have two Cisco ASA 5510 in failover configuration.We tried to change the public IP address on the Outside interface of the primary device but it didn't works. The new IP is not reachable from Internet nor pingable from device on the same LAN.The new IP address is in the same subnet of the old IP.
From the switch on which the ASA is connected and from another Cisco PIX we can see the ARP entry. In the analysis, on the old public IP address there was a VPN site-to-site and Webvpn defined.We tried also to shut/no shut the interface and reboot the device.
The old syntax that I am much more familiar with has been deprecated. On older IOS it would have been something like static (inside,outside) tcp 209.114.146.122 14033 192.168.30.69 1433 netmask 255.255.255.255 Plus an extended ACL to allow the traffic.I am trying to create a Static PAT to allow a host address to access our Network through an ASA. I have external address 209.114.146.122 that I want to hit the external interface on an obscure port (say 14033) and translate that traffic to an internal host address on port 1433.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI need to configure a site-to-site VPN using a Cisco 881 router on my end and connecting to an ASA5510 on my suppliers end.Our supplier has configured their end and I do not have access to their configuration.
They told us we have to NAT all inside address' to a single address (192.168.89.1) as this is the only one they will let through their firewall/tunnel.I know how to set up the VPN but not too sure how to set up the NAT part.
My sanatized config is attached. The code I am using to NAT my inside network to the single address 192.168.89.1, and send all traffic accross the VPN tunnel as this address is correct? With the router running this config the VPN tunnel does not connect.
i recently purchased a D-link n300 DIR-632 (wireless router), i ran the setup wizard and it seems to work. HOWEVER. for some random reason the data transfer will cut out for around 30 seconds or so and all activity is halted. I have looked in the routers Settings however i am not comfortable with messing around with to many settings incase i completely screw up the network. Is there a setting that i have to change so that my network will run more fluently. It is a 300mbs data transfer and there is a maximum of 3 devices running from the network at any one time. I am trying to play online games and the network will lag and freeze the game causing it to crash and have to be restarted. ALSO i would like to note that this router is LAN enabled too. The main computer running on this network is connected by a LAN cable and is still having the same data issues as the wireless devices....

I could understand this if it wasnt finding the router or IP and if the other PCs showed the same symptoms, however thats not the case and its reallt confusing.
I have a TG782T Thompson Gateway, and a few months back we had a lightning storm where it hit the ground fairly close. Ever since that storm, on a regular basis our DSL connection on the router keeps dropping out. Also the phone that we had at the time was shorted out and we had to buy a new one.

I have noticed a few times over the last month that my PC would not load pages due to connection problems. If I hover over the Network icon, it say that I am not joined to a network but within minutes, it reconnects itself. View 19 Replies View RelatedFor the last couple of months we've been having problems keeping a connection to the internet. The green light turns red and everything loses connection while it cycles back on. I've tried everything I can think of and am at a total loss as to how to fix this.
The ISP has been out twice to check and replace all the lines and install a cat 5 line to no avail. I thought it might be an ip conflict dropping the connection so I assigned everything its own address and that didn't solve anything. I have a brand new netgear n300 router/modem that replaced the Actiontec one the ISP provided because I thought that might be failing, no change. The next thing I tried is to turn off and disconnect everything from the network except my laptop to see if it was a certain device causing the problems. It seemed to be going well for about an hour when I lost connection again. The next thing I tried is to hook it directly to the router and turn off the wireless to see if that worked any better, connection still dropped. When the guy was over here replacing the lines, he mentioned that he had just come from another house on our block having similar problems so now I'm thinking maybe they have to fix the lines on the poles. It seems to me that the most likely thing is that the connection is dropping from the ISP to the router, what I could try before I called them up to tell them the problem is definitely not on my end.
I have had comcast for 4 years and for the last two years my comcast connection had been dropping. At the time I didn;t take it as a big deal because I have bad connection but not it's way too frequent to ignore. I have gotten a new router and exchanged a modem from comcast. Basically at a random time of the day internet just goes off. To fix it, I have to go up to the router and disconnect and reconnect the router. I'm looking to improve my connectivity,as the internet drops out a few times a day.Let me explain - I hope I'm correct in my assumptions.Every few hours, my PS3 will have a DNS error, and upon checking my iPhone, I notice that it's switched from wifi over to 3G and there seems to be a loss of connection. I cannot reconnect to the internet until I've restarted my router, or 'forgotten' and rejoined the network.
Additionally, we have an Apple TV, and connection drops out about 3 or 4 times every hour, which is very frustrating when trying to watch a movie.

I've had it for a little over a year and its always been really good with internet connection, strength-wise and speed, never dropping below 95% and just a Megabyte or two off from my corded computer. I have a high end d-link network card in two other computers as well and they each experience the same problem. So something is up with the router. Frequently, when I connect this specific computer to the internet, it drops wireless signal completely and won't connect for any computer for a couple minutes. Then suddenly, out of the blue i'll regain connection. Also, i used to always get a strong 35 Mbps on wireless, which I still do on corded, but now i only do on rare occasion. Most of the time i'm stuck at 12 or 14 and even more often, it drops to 1 or 2. Very unstable. I have reset it it multiple times, along with my modem, still same old problem persists...

View 14 Replies View Related I changed my ISP (I don't know if that has anything to do with it).I have my network setup so I have a seperate modem (tp-link td-8616), which is connected to my router (asus wl-520gu) and do most of my computing from my computer (running Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium, wired network). I had installed tomato firmware onto my router, which was working fine with my first ISP. I changed companies about a week ago, and noticed my connection kept being dropped. At first, I thought it was an issue with my ISP, so I called them up, and didn't find a solution.
Afterwards, I started doing some trouble shooting on my own, and noticed my modem was still connected (via the WAN LED, at least), even though my router disagreed. So, I tried connecting directly to my modem and my connection would be fine without any issue at all, so I thought I'd trouble shoot the router. I switched back to the factory asus firmware, connected it back to my modem, and after a while, it disconnected my LAN connection again. My router comes with this somewhat annoying interface that tells me the issue is "You have set the wrong dynamic or static IP address for your wl-520gu." So, I investigate that, and here is the setup:
My modem is statically 192.168.1.1 when I directly connect to it, so I left that setting alone.My router is also 192.168.1.1, but this was how tomato worked, so I'm not sure that this is the conflict, so I tried setting it to 192.168.1.2, which does not seem to fix the problem.My DHCP settings are set so connecting computers are 192.168.1.100-254, which should avoid the conflicts.
I'm with Virgin Media and the router they give is rubbish. The wifi connection kept dropping. So, I bridged the router to a Linksys router. The wifi is nice and stable now. However, when connected via eternet to the linksys router, I've noticed that my download speeds are very spiky. I used to get a flat 4MB/s download (I have 30 Meg internet). Now it spikes heavyly and I roughly get 2.5MB/s. I've turned the Virgin Media router (which is a netgear inside) into modem mode and when trying to connect directly to the virgin media router, I won't pick up a connection. I assume I can only connect directly to the Linksys.
