I have an Inspiron 1545 and I reinstalled Vista 32-bit, but I having problems with the comms driver (Conexant D400, External USB 56k Modem Rev : a05) and having the following message appear when I install the driver?
where to show MODEM?
The bluetooth module is installed and even the icon appears in the tray. But I am not able to connect any device . I am using Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop (Win 7).

I tried installing back with the Installation CD but whenever the software asks me to "Activate Bluetooth with the wireless button" on my computer, it never continues. i dont know where the problem could be from again. i've tried all i know.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a dell Inspiron 1545, and I recently had to re-install windows Vista(SP2) onto it because of a Trojan that snuck its way onto my hard drive I only had the Installation disc for the OS, and I'd lost the driver re-install disk. I went onto the Dell website and found all the required drivers for my computer. (I used my exact service tag and express code), I downloaded all of the drivers and ran them, and everything seemed to be working fine. Shortly after re-installing all of the drivers, I noticed that I could not connect to the internet through my wireless connection. I've tried all the keyboard shortcuts to "turn on" my wireless connectivity, I've tried installing a whole number of recommended wireless card drivers, and to no avail. This is a serious problem to me, as I am very active on the internet. My Ethernet connection works fine, (that's how I'm online posting this right now), my wireless card troubles.

Result: I think many of people had this problem- i can't activate.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe Bluetooth device driver keeps on turning off / on on its own. I'm using a wireless internet connection with a netgear router and it used to work fine for months. Problem started a week ago. I have Windows Vista Home Premium with SP2. Below are the items listed under the network adapters of device manager when my internet connection is fine:
1) Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network) - (status is disabled)
2) Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)
3) Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller
4) Cisco Systems VPN Adapter - (status is disabled)
5) Intel (R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
No signs of a conflict like a yellow exclamation mark or X.And here are the only ones listed when i lose connection:
1) Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller
2) Cisco Systems VPN Adapter - (status is disabled)
3) Intel (R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
Here are the things I have done:
1) Reinstalled the network drivers downloaded from Dell specifically:Intel (R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller2) When the first 2 items are visible, i tried to check for updated drivers by right clicking on it and hitting Update Driver software but it gave me a message that its already updated.
3) Enabled items 1 and 4 to see if it will make a difference but not.
4) Tried the TCP/IP stack repair options by going into CMD running it as Admin and typing in the lines below: netsh winsock reset catalognetsh int ipv4 reset reset.lognetsh int ipv6 reset reset.logRestarted the machine but still got the same problem.
5) Already checked the switch from the side of the laptop and its ON.
i have an inspiron N5030 i add bluetooth devices and can send files to all but i can't receive from any of them
and when i add devices some of them added correctly while others have problems in installing driver of bt peripheral device

I have bought a new bluetooth headset, but my system couldn't recognize it while I am trying to add it using "Add a device" utility. I think bluetooth driver is missing in my system. I checked the drivers CD, but couldn't decide which one I should install because there are lot of BTS (bluetooth) drivers are listed.

I have upgraded my 8600 to windows 7 and everything except the dial up modem seems to be working. Dell says it doesn't support windows 7 on this machine.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got a (one year old) Dell Inspiron 1545 and I'm using it always with wifi on to get connected to the net.Since a couple of days this Wifi connection often goes off and on (by itself) and I got no clue what it source of this problem is.My Eventlog says that it switches off very irregulary (between 3 and 10 minutes). I've installed the newest drivers and got the latest updates for the Wifi card and on my Windows Vista.

The WiFi worked before I re-loaded windows from the recovery disc, The radio switch indicates it is on but it doesn't seem to find any signals. I am running windows vista sp-2. I recently purchases an inspiron 1545 notebook with various upgrades, one including an upgraded wireless card to get faster speeds and signal strength. I have had problems with this laptop ever since i recieved it, i have an old laptop with a worse card which picks up my signal perfectly fine and the speed and signal stays constant. With this inspiron 1545 with a "even better" wireless card i have many problems:,losing signal,poor signal strength and quality,speeds going from decent to slower than dial up,I will be checking this as often as possible.

The 'repair wireless network connection' does not work, it tries to repair it then stops at 'renewing your IP address'. My Inspiron 1545 has a 1397 Wireless G card. I want to up it to a Wireless N card. I have seen references to a Wireless N 1501, 1503, 1510, 1515 & 1520, but none of these are mentioned as being compatible with a 1545.

I have a three year old Inspiron 1545. About a month ago the computer stopped detecting the wifi at home. It never had this problem before, and the other household laptop and iPhone had no problem detecting and getting onto the the wifi. The problematic laptop will connect to the net via wire. I get a red x over the connection icon, and when I put the cursor over the icon, a message reads "connection status unknown: the dependency service or group failed to start."
